Karribi'dingi just starts walking south, meaning to speak with the first being he meets. He'd always throw himself into the uncertain and it'd always proved interesting and enlightening.

[afroakuma]

The black casing between the caps of the scroll case suddenly begins to glow a deep, bright azure, stronger by far than the minor glow it had back in Sigil.

The first being Karribi'dingi sees is actually a passing giant.

[The Antigamer]

Ammon stares in bewilderment at the case.
"Uh guys, this time I didn't do anything."

He scratches his head.

"I wonder if the light changes intensity or color as I turn. Maybe it's a homing beacon?"

He turns around slowly in a circle, watching the case.

If nothing happens after turning in a circle, he checks to make sure the lid is still on tight. He's not going to yank on the top, just see if it has loosened since starting to glow.

The light does not react to Ammon's turning, and the cap seems as firmly attached as ever. If it is reacting to anything, it appears to be giving little indication as to what.

Karribi stops in his tracks at the light and begins walking backwards, keeping his gaze pointed in the opposite direction.

"Maaayhap it is a beeeacon, but aliiike to a lighthooouuse tooo get other's attention, rather than too leeead us toooo them." he suggests.

[The Antigamer]

"I'm not so sure about that Karribi. What would be the point of having messangers if the powers are just going to show up the instant we arrive?"

Maybe it reacts to spoken commands? he thinks.

Speaking to the case he says, "Where do we deliver you? Who do we deliver you to?"

[afroakuma]

The case remains inert.

[The Antigamer]

Ammon shakes his head, and puts the case back in the Haversack.

"Alright, let's head off to deliver this message then. By the way, guys, I think we have to deliver it to all the major powers on this plane, that's why there's no delivery instructions."

Ammon looks around to take stock of where they are, noting the presence of any people nearby.

Karribi chomps his fangs and gmmph gmmphs in his throat. He walks over and hails the giant, "GHOOOAARGAH MOOOL, T'A GEEEEEN MULL. TOOOPOGFERT GIIINIAN LEEEE, TOOOOOPOO?"

You hear the name "Oreg Stonehammer" as the giant speaks. You seem to recall that name... someone important in Kord's realm, if you recall correctly...

While Karribi is chatting up the giant, Ammon starts some conversations with people around the dock, asking what the main powers on the plane are, and how best to reach them.

"Oreg? Hey, I've met that guy! It'll be nice to see him again."

Mith has constant tongues, so he'd understand everything the giant is saying, not just the name, if it's important.

[Critical]

"What be he sayin', me hearties?" - Banzzag asks the Darfellan and Mith. Poor Banzzag only knew common, so he was always curious about other languages. Eventually, he started to listen to the giant speech, but trying to understand it was pointless. Still, he continued to.

"The giant is saaaaying Oreg Stonehammer is hooosting contest of strength in the Field of Greeeeat Stoooones to seeee whooo is miiightiest in Ysgard." Karribi replies and look to the halfling without turning away from the giant. "Yoooou knoooow this plaaaace, Mithredeth?"

Mithredath nods. "I've been there before." He walks up next to Karribi'dingi, bowing to the giant, and calls out in Giant, asking him if he could escort the group there and tell them who is attending this contest.

Um... that's not Oreg Stonehammer. Oreg Stonehammer is three miles away.

Also, whoops on the tongues, I forgot you're a saint. Just crack open any language-locked spoilers when you see them.

"I'm already lugging these throwing hammers," he indicates his massive bag, "but Hrar over there could probably carry you all."

The giant flags down a slightly larger giant dragging a pair of large sledges.

The locals vary on their choices; a good many mention the Asgardians, while others point to certain giant powers and more thna one mentions Kord.

[Critical]

"Oooh, could ye ask if we could compete in that contest o' strength, me darfellan matey? Because I`ve got lots o' 't!" - says Banzzag, flexing his muscles, though, it was seen poorly because of his full plate armor.

[The Antigamer]

Ammon returns to the group in time to hear the talk about attending a strength contest.

"Uh, guys, how is that furthering or mission? Unless you think a power's going to be there?"

Internally he's thinking about how incredible it would be to ride a giant, and see a contest of strength amongst beings of their power.

[PairO'Dice Lost]

Mithredath raises an eyebrow and smiles sweetly. "Well, it's a distinct possibility that a Power might be there. Y'know, with there being a contest of strength on Ysgard and Kord being a god of strength who lives on Ysgard and all."

[The Vorpal Tribble]

"To reeeeach the mountain yooou have toooo first cliiiimb the hills." Karribi'dingi replies. " Stoooonehammer maaaay beee first on the waaaay up. "

The massive newcomer, Hrar, takes Mithredath and Joanne on his shoulders and lowers the other three down to his sledges. The speed of movement as he runs along towing them is incredible.

In no time at all, you arrive at the exhibition field. Several troll-like creatures, along with a great many giants and more than a few stout humanoids, stretch and practice with some of the many ponderous objects to be used in the competition. Over by the mead tent, a singular individual surveys the field. He is an incredibly-muscled human with slate-gray hair and eyes, stripped to the waist and wearing several thick belts of gold, each bearing this symbol:

Two greatswords are embedded in the ground near him, and there is a discernible aura enveloping the man that fills you with tangible awe.

Oreg Stonehammer, proxy of Kord.

[PairO'Dice Lost]

When they reach their destination, Mithredath hops down and thanks Hrar for escorting them here. He takes a look around and, seeing Oreg, pokes Ammon in the stomach. "See?" he whispers. "Told ya we'd make progress here. We needed a Power's proxy, and here one is."

[The Antigamer]

Ammon whoops with excitment as he's whisked along on the sled. He smiles at the other two with him as the trees blur by. Upon arriving, he flashes a broad grin at the giant who dragged them, giving him a big wave and a shouted thanks.

"Well that was a ride to remember! Ban, if you want to compete in this, you've got some stiff competition." Turning to survey the field, his gaze stops on the human overseeing the green. When Mith pokes him, he leans over to ask, "He's Kord's proxy? How do you think we should go about asking his help? You wanna lead the way over and we can ask him? Or is there a better way?"

[The Vorpal Tribble]

Karribi'dingi jams his harpoon into the wood of the sledge and grips it with one hand as they are hurled along, humming.

He dislodges it as he jumps off and likewise calls out a thanks.

"Are theeeese liiiive beeeings or spirits?" he asks curiously.

[The Antigamer]

To Karribi, Ammon replies, "I'm sure some are petitioners, but you don't have to be dead to dwell in Ysgard. Some of the giants might be alive, and there are probably some celestials or other natives of the plane."

His mind catches up to what he's saying, and he realizes that he could very well be on the same plane his father was from. His mood threatens to turn somber, but he forestalls it with action by beginning to walk over to the mead tent.

[PairO'Dice Lost]

"Live beings or spirits?" Mith considers Karribi's question. "Yes." He flashes an enigmatic smile, then chuckles and continues: "Like Ammon said, some of them could be regular living creatures who traveled here, some of them might be petitioners--spirits sort-of reincarnated on Ysgard--and some might be like me, formerly dead and now as alive as you."

To Ammon, Mith replies "We might as well go over and ask. Kord is a god of strength, which would include strength of will and courage, so his proxy should appreciate the direct approach." A pause. "Probably. I haven't actually met Oreg, just know him by reputation, so I'm not completely sure. That isn't going to stop us from trying, though; come on!" With that, Mith starts walking toward the proxy and motions everyone to follow him.

Karribi'dingi follows, watching the antics of the brute competitors and trying to guess which one might be dead.

[The Antigamer]

Talking to Ban as they walk, Ammon tells the half-minotaur,
"In all seriousness I think you might want to try this strength competition, if you think you can impress Oreg enough. He may even require one of us to compete before he gives answers, depending on his temperament."

[afroakuma]

At the mead tent, various angelic creatures are taking up perches to watch the upcoming competitions from a safe distance. Giants roll immense tubs of spirits to the tent, while dwarves hammer in taps and set up tables. Various vættir and several bariaurs lounge around or place bets on the competitors.

Oreg turns as you approach. "Ah, one of the faithful! Welcome to this fine exhibition, Mithredath and company. I do not think this is the best of contests for yourself, small one, but perhaps one of your companions might join us in sport! Be welcome to the feast in any event."
