Re: The Wrong Guys IC
The halfling (are there red-haired halflings?) sticks his tongue out at you, then gags as the flat of the blade whacks him sharply on the chest. He glances around (the footsteps draw closer), then jabs at Llaars with one short sword, though he still lies on the ground.
(1d20+4)[15] (flanking bonus and prone penalties accounted for), (1d4+1)[4](1d6)[6]
Llaars takes 10 damage.
He then stands, provoking attacks of opportunity from everyone except Antal.
Everyone gets an attack on the halfling before he does that though.Last edited by Ajadea; 2011-01-13 at 12:33 PM.

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
At least one hit in the flurry should have hit, but the 'little son-of-a-', as Llaars so eloquently put it, did some elaborate parry-dodge-parry-sidestep-roll-stand manuever that left him grinning broadly a few feet away from his previous position, swords at the ready.
So the map looks like this: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...thkey=COqP3_QK
And it's Antal's turn.

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
Antal moves past Audric and catches the swordshalfling on the leg when he tries to dodge, cutting through cloak and armor.
The archer raises his bow as Antal moves and shoots point blank at Llaars before backing up a few steps in to the narrow tunnel branching off from the one you're in.
(1d20+6)[9](1d4)[1]
His pull on the bowstring apparently wasn't tight enough, as the arrow swoops past Llaars' knee and lands on the lumpy floor with a clattering sound.

Shadow whines in frustration, unable to get to the fight. Rana is equally frustrated as she steps up to the cloaked figure (5' step to F3) and slashes at him.

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
Llaars' fist catches the grinning halfling(?) in his chest with an almost sickening sound, pinning him to the wall. You can hear ribs snapping like twigs under his armor. The halfling's lips tighten into a thin white line, but he does not scream, though considering the fractures, he must be in agony. When Llaars pulls back, the halfling falls forward, putting his arms in front of his face and rolling to the side, blood seeping out from the split in the back of his head and the corner of his mouth.
His expression is still frozen in a macabre grin, but his eyes are closed, his breathing shallow and pained, and his teeth are flecked with blood. It's clear he is on the edge of death.
Audric's turn.

"Rana, don't let him die.". Certain that she will take care of the fallen enemy, he steps past her and the body (to D3). "Your friend has fallen. Surrender and we won't harm you" he says to the other halfling.

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
The halfling raises an eyebrow as he dodges your blade. "You lot really are stupid, aren't you. Lemme put it this way. If I wasn't willing to put my life on the line, d'you think I'd be here, d'ya think any of us'd be here, risking our necks against armies of pallies?"

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
The halfing flinches slightly as Antal slashes a shallow cut across his left cheek, stepping back and shooting at him with a blue-fletched arrow, rather than the green ones he's been using this entire fight.
(1d20+6)[20](1d4)[4]
The arrow stabs into Antal's arm, and the halfling slumps down, unconscious.

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
Shadow comes up to Rana's side, unsure of what to do next.
Rana hesitates for a moment, trying to decide between helping the dying halfling at her feet and pushing past the others to reach Antal. After a second's thought, she crouches at the dying halfling's side to bandage his wounds, hoping that Antal can hang on a few seconds longer. Heal (1d20+7)[21] to stabilize the halfling.
OOC: Sorry, Jallorn, if it weren't for the fact that she can't get to you without getting in Audric's and Llaar's way, she'd go for you first.Knowledge is power.

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
OOC
SpoilerWait a minute, I think I'm a bit confused. Since Llaars didn't attack, doesn't he have two move actions avaiable, which means he can move up to 60 ft (10 squares)?
Please enlighten the (semi) newbie....
EDIT: it's just a curiosity, since Audric's action would probably be the same in either case, but I'll wait to know where Llaars is on the map before posting Audric's rolls. Also, I wanted to know if it would be possible for him to take a 5'step, drag Antal away from the square he is in (but without moving himself) and still have an action left for a Heal check.

Given his move rate, I doubt it matters, but Shadow moved up next to Rana last turn. Probably F4.

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
You're right and wrong about Llaars. He does have 2 move actions available, but tumbling past an enemy is a DC 25 action (so he made it) that also slows you to half-speed. So he has 30 feet movement, and can make it just fine. I'll fix it.
And yes, that should be quite possible. Which square are you dragging Antal to?
Thanks, I'll fix that. I do sometimes have trouble keeping track of pets.

Re: The Wrong Guys IC
Having to decide between continuing to attack the halfling or help his fallen ally, Audric doesn't hesitate. He steps back, quickly grabbing Antal and bringing him out of harm's way, then crouches near him, trying to see how seriously he is hurt.
Spoiler5' step to D4, dragging Antal in C4, and heal - (1d20+7)[19] to see what's wrong with him and trying to help him if possible.

Spoiler
It's sleep poison. You're not sure what kind. Whiny-ice? Something like that. He'll probably wake up in a few minutes.
The swordsman is dead, Antal's unconscious, so...
Llaars gets an Attack of Opportunity vs. the halfling archer as he puts another blue-fletched arrow to the bowstring.

Llaars' tries to grab the halfling, but it wriggles free and shoots Llaars, arrow grazing his arm painfully.
(1d20+6)[15](1d4)[3]
The halfling seems a bit confused about the lack of any other reaction, and tries and fails to somersault past Llaars, slamming neatly into the wall. The lack of concentration may have had something to do with it.
