Antal considers his options for a moment before going after the sounds quietly. They were trying to get on this side, and it's been a while, so he figures that there's a good chance this lead might lead him to Paral.

You can now see a motley group of beings, running very swiftly. You recognize the gnome from earlier, and with him, there is a second small figure, swathed in a black cloak, a little (maybe 10 inch tall) flying humanoid crossed with something resembling a massive cricket, and what looks like a bundle of leather and leaves clinging with all its might to a large, over-excited, shaggy dog.

Antal decides to follow them for a while, he didn't really trust the gnome anyway.

Evocation magic, blood, and a melted dagger. Come on, Audric, make your teachers proud. His heads still feels a little fuzzy from the fall. He composes himself, wearing his gauntlets again and putting his backpack on his shoulders, before scooting closer to examine the dagger and the blood

((search - (1d20+1)[12] spot - (1d20+3)[18] and knowledge religion - (1d20+3)[11] to figure out what happened down here. I suppose dim magic isn't enough for a trap to be still active, right? (and most importantly I suppose Audric knows that, too. Otherwise he'll keep still.) ))

The cricket-thing stops and chirps something in a language you do not understand. The being on the riding dog stops as well, and whispers something. You can catch a few of its words: "Eah, rd -there's ere. tse, y stest. ke, deal tever's find us."

It's not clear, and there are long pauses where you hear nothing between the spaces.

Audric crawls nearer to the dagger, picking it up to examine it. Next, he focuses on the indentations on the wall.

((Please tell me the appropriate checks to make (or roll them for me, i really don't mind). Also, I've been wondering if I could make a will save to disbelieve that illusion. He knows it's a magical illusion, he could probably try to focus to see what reality is like. Also also, how long is that tunnel (does it extend both ways, that sort of things)? Sorry I'm not doing much, but I still haven't got a clear picture in my head))

The dagger was likely bent with force or fire magic (the only kinds that can really bend metal much), both of which are normally evocation. The indents on the wall can't be from electric or fire magic.

The tunnel seems to go straight in both directions. Looking up again, the illusion seems to waver slightly, becoming at once transparant and opaque without being translucent. You seem to be at least thirty feet below where Llaars and Rana are, maybe more, and you would have certainly been hurt by the fall if there hadn't been flammable sticky stuff in the way.

Shadow looks at the illusion again, and barks into the hole. He is either excited or distressed by something.

You can hear Shadow barking at you from up above. It is a dim, echoing, bark, but it's almost certainly Shadow.

"Hmmm," Antal considers the data, "they know I'm here, I'm sure of it, after the flash, and they are certainly reacting to something now... that's it!" Rana? Guys, is that you? he calls, feigning uncertainty.

"D'you-" "Actually..." The gnome from earlier breaks away and dashes down the tunnel, stumbling to a halt in front of you. He looks around, then frowns at the darkness. "So you managed to lose your friends. Did you change your mind or are you lost?"

"I don't mind. Shiri became kinda panicky after I told her about Irena possibly murdering Duenacir and being a traitor, though, and I'm not sure if she'd be as willing to let you tag along. And I don't know about you, but I'm not crazy about arguing with a lady who has a dog that can eat my head."

Audric gets hastly to his feet, now that he is sure he is not going to hit his head on the ceiling. He has the half-melted dagger still in hand. Shadow? So the voice does carry down here. "RANA! LLAARS!" he shouts again. I hope they hear me this time.

The illusion shimmers and does something that makes your mind hurt, going all weird and transparent and solid and bleh.

And then you can see through the illusion, and hear through it as well. Audric is shouting "RANA! LLAARS!" from the bottom, thirty-some feet down, with the lantern still miraculously intact. And the hole itself? Seems to have been very elaborately constructed to trick people into thinking that it was full of slime. You can see charred strands of something hanging from the walls.

I'm not quite sure what to do. Rana's not just sitting here doing nothing, but I was hoping that Llaars would roll well enough on either his Listen check or Will save to be able to hear/see more than I can so I can react better.

Something doesn't want you playing this game, I think! I don't know if you saw, but we got a Listen check and a Will save. Rana failed both, but Shadow apparently made his save, although that doesn't really help us since he can't tell us what's through the illusion!

He looks urgent for a moment, as if ready to dive in after the paladin, but stops himself short. "Rana, does the ground look kinda funny all of a sudden? Wait... I hear Audric!"

"Er...no, I guess it can't."

He turns back to the others. "It's alright, I know this guy. Er...Shiri, he's kinda lost, can we take him back to the base or something?"

The bundle of leather and leaves slips off the dog and takes off her hood. You can see that it is a she, she is a brown-haired halfling, and the illusion of her being a bundle of leather and leaves was created by the fact that she seems to be wearing armor made from pieces of hide and thick leaves, and a cloak made of similar, but thinner, leaves.

"Absolutely not. We've enough issues with this small nightmare you dropped on us. A new trainee or somethin' would normally be great, don' get me wrong, but as of about twenty minutes ago, our priorities have shifted." She turns to you, and looks over you once, almost as if she is sizing you up. "D'you have a name?"

"Audric! He's yelling for us... and the grounds all weird and sorta see through. Lets try and toss the rope again." With that last statement, he starts to lower the rope back down the pit, lashing it from side to side to hopefully get Audrics attention. He calls after his friend. "Don't worry buddy. We're comin' for ya!"
