For the record it's actually just a Mini-Sentry that looks different. It may fire a little faster I believe, but still just as little health and still does half-damage.
It's not as game breaking as Nightclaw makes it out to be. Hell, the worst pat of it would probably be the fact it's already red which is confusing before it starts shooting you.
It'll be patched pretty soon, mark my words.

I tested the Wrangler, and it doesn't matter whether it is a mini-sentry or a Level 3, it never runs out of rockets. Obvious patch fix should be coming soon.

In response to Potato, the plugin I linked earlier is pretty much what you were describing. (Cause it's never fun to go look for links) It can boot by lowest time, highest ping, or random. It also has levels of immunity from sourcemod, so we could set up(admittidly a bit painstakingly) levels of immunity, regulars higher, you and djinn highest, pubbies we like lower, and true pubies with no immunity. (It starts kicking lower immunity people if it runs out of pubbies)

'Cause I was playing today, and it was so horrible and monotonous (move from spawn, get killed. Play spy, sap a sentry and stab an engie, get destroyed by the other 9 sentries and engies. Rinse, wash, repeate) an experience that I know I'm not playing without such a plugin until this whole storm dies down...

Problem with that is sometimes everybody _wants_ to go all engi -- for a gimmick round, achievement farming, or just playing with the new toys. Would we be able to switch the limit on and off?

Plugin pshaw, use mp_classlimit_engineer. That does it without any sort of shennanigans.

Personally, I'd like to be able to screw around with my mini-sentry and shotgun without cutting into our allotment of actual engineers. On the other hand, I do know how frustrating maximum fun stalemate joy time can be.

Seems reasonable to me. I've got most of the Engie weapons now anyway (just missing Milestone 3 and the Wrangler), so while I'd like to practice the new strategies for Engineering, I wouldn't mind a forced breakup of the inevitably boring stalemates.

Limit it to 3 or 4 engies. Maybe even 5 if you're crazy. Otherwise the games are 6-7 engies per team with a scattered other 1-2 classes.

Rage? Haha. No. I wouldn't rage. I would be mildly annoyed if I wasn't one of the three though. I'm not a good Engineer, by any stretch, but I've only managed to get/use the FJ so far. I'm eager to try the achievements and new toys out.

Might cause a ruckus on the server due to the number of people who want to play Engineer, even if most would individually agree that this many Engineers is a bit much.

That's just compression though. I want to change it from first person viewpoint to somewhere away from the people to get all the people at once.

So, other Spies...is it just me, or do level 3 sentries respond faster than they used to? I couldn't pull off about 50% of my stab-n-saps today, and I've been doing them reliably for a while now...

I'm not a big fan of reserved slots, mostly because it wouldn't leave a good impression on the kicked player, but I don't mind waiting to get into the server.
Also: Yes for the engineer limit.

In case you didn't catch it, today's update fixes a bunch of things that went wrong in the Engineer Update. Including the Mini-Sentries of DOOM, infinite Wrangler rocket spam, and super-easy Death Metal.

On the other hand (the Gunslinger?), Rio Grind is now correct.

i would... man i keep getting this stupid error when trying to connect. i try every time i switch servers

also, as an engie, i see MANY MANY MANY spies die to my sentry becuase it swings around so fast. Most of those S&S should have worked.

Ehh.... I don't know the whole story, but what it looks like is that you shouldn't have been able to get on at all. :\



As for the engi limit, I don't care that much as I've got the unlocks (pretty sure) and I'm staying off for now.
