You would need to ignore the official clarifying that time stop can't be combined with persistent metamagic tough.

Lot's of tricks only work by RAW though.

Not to mention plain old common sense, since this would mean Persist Spell had two entirely different effects: one for Time Stop (increasing its magnitude), and one for everything else (increasing its duration).

Common sense, but not RAW. 1d4+1 rounds is, for some insane reason, listed as the duration, not the effect, in both the PHB and the SRD. At any rate barring infinite action tricks, which someone else mentioned, I couldn't think of anything allowing you to do it in a reasonable amount of time.

Am I the only one willing to account for shoddy translation? Japanese gets confusing at large numbers, since they divide their numbers in increments of four digits rather than three.

No, I agree that is probably it. Until we receive clarification though it is fun to make fun of the absurd numbers.

Huh, new version no longer says Nagato was one of the six paths, instead saying he is the thire reincarnation (?) of the Sage.

So, maybe Madara already has all the six paths, and the eyes are the only thing he needs now to duplicate all of sage's powers?

Assuming each tag was roughly 10 cm x 20 cm (0.02 m^2) in size, that's only 110 km x 110 km (12,000 km^2) area of paper Konan had to fill with runes. (For perspective, a single decently-sized paper factory generates 12 km^2 of paper in a day, taking a bit less than 3 years to produce that amount,) Even if she only had one second to write the tags (and one really big sheet of paper), her instant chakra runes (see also: summoning jutsu) didn't even have to break the speed of light!

Really, we've seen Kizame create a cubic mile of water from wholecloth, what is so suprising about mere 600,000,000,000 explosive tags?

EDIT: Also, while it's sad to see Konan gone, I'm sure she's happy in Gensokyo once she reincarnates as Reimu Hakurei. Seriously, I can't be the only one who who was reminded of this when seeing Konan's ultimate attack.

Honestly, I preferred the idea that there were 6 bloodlines coming from Rikudo Sennin, and Uzumaki/Rinnegan Mutation was the 3rd one. It also gave a chance to flesh out the Byakugan a bit more.

Also, is the Rinnegan a rare Uzumaki clan Kekkai Genkai? Or is it a rare mutation irrespective of clan as Kakashi thinks? I prefer the mutation idea, cos' otherwise it means that Naruto will get the Rinnegan. And nobody wants that.

Apparently, in another translation, Madara himself states he is the second man capable of claiming being Sennin's heir. You know, in the place where MS fails claimed he spoke he has two paths. It was supposed to be something along the lines 'second master of the paths', Nagato being third. Apparently.

It will soon be clear, though, as I found awesome blog, lost in translation, correcting various issues of MS translation fails. Chapter 510 is supposed to appear there soon.

Anyway, Madara is a show off. He get the eyes (presumably, we didn't saw if either one/both of them were 'installed') and he had to incorporate the pattern on his mask

So, did he lost his hax powers, or will any usage of them cost him his infinitely more precious eye? Because, if he can cast them without losing sight, like Sage did, there's literally no point in fighting him now.

On a side note, who operated him? Did he himself inserted the eyes while blind and not having medical training?

I love how Madara keeps looking more and more ridiculous. This, coupled with his craaaaaazy plan, makes me think he's in on the joke, knows he's in a shonen manga, and is just doing this for gits 'n shiggles.

As a result, he's constantly laughing at Sasuke, who takes things so seriously, but he's got to keep up the act to keep the joke going.

Filler is material that has zero plot relevance, zero impact on the story and will never be mentioned again. Given that Madara implanting the eyes will vastly change his powers for the Final Fight, that counts as impact on the story.

You may not like it, but it's not filler.
