My suspect list is Sanity702, Lord Fullbladder, and maybe The Fiery Tower, but I'm probably wrong about at least one of them (I hope I am, or we're unlikely to win this).

But for now, I'll follow along I guess. Bushranger.

The young stranger who has tended the temple since the priestess Divania was killed finds himself the target of another group - again. Their muttering about "coincidence" and "timing" and "strangers" alert him to their purpose before they have the chance to address him directly. Standing, he faces them, backing towards a nearby cliff. The faces around him show anger - but mostly fear. Calmly, he speaks to those gathered.

I know what is happening. I have seen it before. And I told you before that I was no threat - but when those we know and trust are killed, we have only the unknown to look to. I came as a stranger to you. And once I was here, I tried to help, to root out the false gods and make this town safe again. He makes eye contact with each in turn. I don't blame you. May the gods keep you - and burn the false one.

With that, he gives a soft, sad smile - and hurls himself over the cliff.

I'm pretty sure I trust VA_beds, and naturally, I trust myself.

Which leaves The Fiery Tower, Sanity702, and Deathslayer7.

Yeah... I'm really not sure. And I'm getting more than a little worried.

I'll point later, after I've had a chance to think some more.

Ioannes blinks sadly as he looks up at the temple, sighing, and feeling his somewhat...intangible form.

"Well. It seems somehow I just can't stay away from here, can I?" he mutters - then gets his maudlin mood distracted from, by the appearance of the pixie puppy, happy despite being ghostly. And with a smile, he tries to scoop the cute pup up into his arms for ear-scritches before resuming heading up to the temple.

A cold mist rises during the pre-dawn hours. It throws red shadows at the surviving inhabitants of the village as it boils in the sunlight. As a light breeze whips the last vestiges away, a voice whispers throughout the valley. "Shadows never die forever."

Either inactivity for the past *checks notes* 2 nights, which would make me suspect The Fiery Tower, or a cunning ploy by you to get us to this point. Or a very cunning ploy by VA_beds, in which case, he deserves victory.

I'm gonna call The Fiery Tower. Feels marginally more likely, I think.

A note from the narrator:

After a glance back at the rules and consulting with mods and others who have run games - and in the interest of not dragging this out any longer - there is a clause that says that when a lone wolf god remains, they get a night kill ability. I balanced this by giving out a bane ability as well.

I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS SOONER BUT I WASN'T CLEAR ON THE RULE. So it was a narrator error.

Hmm, looking back even just two days is interesting.

Both Tas and Deathslayer decided to point at Sanity before his untimely demise.

Deathslayer decided to start a bandwagon on him. Odd how he would end up dead afterward, huh?

He did also seem to have a vendetta against Sanity as well.

No wait.

Tas mentioned something about cunning ploys. Maybe this is because he was hatching one himself?
Realizing that I was being inactive during night phases, he decides "Oh hey, I can totally use this to my advantage. Let's go after that guy!" Someone who is doing that much in the planning would also think "Oh hey, I can also cast some doubt on deathslayer by using my kill on Sanity, who he was targeting the night before. That would definitely cast any suspicion off of me for the last few days, thus gaining me victory."

Guess who also pointed at Tas yesterday?
