I've always wondered how Pokéballs work. I always imagined that they erase the Pokémon's memories and so you're the first thing they see, and they think of you as their mother and always do what you say. Which is why the Pokémon forget their families that they're probably hunting for out in the wild where you first encounter them, and their families starve to death.

I actually wondered that myself, and my logic is that pokemon are actually more dangerous than they are shown to be, because if we have to capture them then it must mean on some level that they are a threat and have to be controlled.

Therefore Professor Oak, the inventor of the pokeball is the one who made a brainwashing system of capture, distributing them across the world as the chief way to capture and control pokemon so that they don't destroy all of civilization.

but then my logic led to me to think: wait, if Nurse Joys machine can instantly heal pokemon through the pokeballs then that must mean the technology on some level is compatible with it, that the design is specifically for the pokeballs. which means that Prof. Oak also designed it. why? because as pokemon battle, I think they start to revert and become more wild and healing them renews the brainwashing to keep them in control.

then my mind thought about nurse joy and officer jenny and why they are the same, which then led me to figure out that all the pokemon look the same as well, so if Joy and Jenny all look the same then they must be part pokemon because they look like and talk like humans but y'know all look the same.

so why would they be part pokemon? well if nurse joys all operate the pokemon center, and Oak designed the technology for centers healing tech then Oak must be connected to them, but since the pokemon centers are free then that must mean they are government funded, meaning Prof Oak is with the government. and if Prof. Oak has the funding of the government, Joy is part pokemon, and Oak is the leading pokemon genius in the world who designed the pokeball which brainwashes pokemon....

then that must mean Prof. Oak genetically engineered all the Joys and Jenny's
and is part of a big government conspiracy to mass produce a homing pokeball that adapts itself to the pokemon it is about to catch to ensure 100% success rate based off the info from the pokedex and launch it across the world, thus controlling every pokemon ever and becoming rulers of the world!

I would write a story about that, but I am busy doing more important things.

Red and Blue (and possibly Yellow) I seem to remember the Master ball being the thing you get him from the Viridian mart. It's known only as Oak's Package () then, but is revealed to be the master ball later...

from the government of course, they perfected it and they gave it to him to work out a way to make it cheaplier and more efficiently.

the reason why he gives it to you after the pokemon league is defeated is that by the end of the game he has accomplished his goal and is ready to launch the pokemissiles across the world.

The official Pokémon explanation is that they are testing you by battling you. If you can defeat them then you are worthy of being their friend/master.

The Pokéballs are made by this geezer in Silver/Soulsilver and Gold/Heartgold.
I can't remember where those games take place but you brig him apricorns and he makes you Pokéballs.

The games have a limited number of sprites thus explaining why the Joys and Jennys are identical

Of course the truth is that the Pokémons are really running organised crime in the Pokéverse and have evil nefarious plans with the humans. Especially the Beautifly.

Genetic engineering hasn't been discovered yet (the tech level is roughly that of the early 1900s, with some additions), but the Sovice nanomachines could very well serve the same purpose (they're the non-magical Phlebotinum of Avbaroy). You could easily justify it by declaring it a UNA/Sovice experiment. Are you going to be with the UNA, the ALF, another group of your invention, or a freelancer?

Though beware, FI's archive is fairly outdated. I'll bring it up to date soon though, and I'll make a comic that's going to provide some plot hooks. There are not really any short-term goals right now apart from giving back Lor Nae's emerald, my next comic should hopefully provide some stuff for the characters in Skornbail.
