My original plan was to use Quickened Sonic Snap to determine whether they were under the influence of an AMF, followed by probably Enervation.

Then I figured that Orb was going to go through AMF anyway with the same spell slot, and I would see if they had one by Sachiru's actions. It was purely coincidental that I picked Orb of Acid in the first place.

Any word on the Arcane sight?

Cast Arcane Spellsurge as standard action, and then Fleshshiver (SpC page 95) as swift action. If the halfling doesn't have >16 HD, he is automatically stunned. If he does have more than 16 HD, he get's a save against the stun effect, DC 35.

Next round he has to make another Fort save with the same DC, or take (15d6)[62] damage and be nauseated for (1d4+2)[6] rounds.
