Re: All in a day's work (IC)
@kirrik:
Spoiler
Actually, through your inquiries to the messenger, who was himself a lizardfolk, you know the princess' name is Princess Lorramessh. Also, due to the secretive nature of the monarchy of the IG island cluster, you're not sure if the princess is a lizardfolk or not. You forgot to ask the messenger, though you doubt he would've told you.
Lost Mountains? Ha! She's as good as dead then!Last edited by Emperor Ing; 2010-10-05 at 08:22 PM.

Well, I guess we'll check the tavers then. Still grumbling about the evils of slavery, Eldon heads off to see if he can find anyone.

Re: All in a day's work (IC)
Maguvial and Eldon hear of some slaver trying to sell some captured high level aristocrat from the islands at a, what they claim to be a ridiculous price, because spoiled princesses aren't worth that much. She's being kept some place in the lost mountains as if that weren't obvious enough.
Only Eldon is told that the place she is being kept is supposed to be some superbly hidden and well-guarded cave, but that's only a ruse for rival slavers trying to steal the slaver's prise to overshoot the actual place the princess is being kept. That still doesn't mean that going in is a good idea.Dark Souls Remake in a Nutshell

Re: All in a day's work (IC)
((Huh, is it just the two of you now?))
There aren't exactly many suprises on the way up. It's tougher going up than down, but that's not suprising at all. The only thing unusual is this small group of rough looking humans heading downward from the mountains.
Anyways, once the summit of the path is reached you're up onto the flattened end of the mountain where the path forks straight ahead and right. You didn't notice it before due to which way you came from.Last edited by Emperor Ing; 2010-10-11 at 08:24 AM.

Re: All in a day's work (IC)
Assuming you both do go straight...the walls slope down to the mountains. One looks walkable, the other looks like a suicide slope. Anyways, the path takes you to the edge of a mountain. It continues to the left, but looking down you can see some sort of lower walkway that leads back up to this path. There might be something down there though.

Eldon follows Maguvial. The mention of slavers has made him a bit grumpy and suspicous, so he is looking around as he goes along.

Maguvial finds the narrow entrance to a cave. What is down there is hard to see without darkvision.

The dog can see partially into the cave, but it needs darkvision to see further.

Re: All in a day's work (IC)
The torch reveals a lot less than you'd expect. As far as you can see, it's a narrow rocky passage. Easily walkable rock floor. It slopes down slightly and as far as you can see, it stops abruptly at a rock wall. Judging by how the shadow dances on one side of the wall, you've got a feeling it just turns.

Well, we'll never know what's in there if we don't try...
Anyway Zaqurt tries to check the inside of the cave first, by listeningSpoilerListen Check: (1d20+3)[23]
and then throws a rock inside to see if anything happens.
If he doesn't see anything strange, he procedes in the cave, followed by the others (i guess)Originally Posted by actual quote from this forum

Re: All in a day's work (IC)
Zaqurt goes deaf. Not deaf deaf, but is more along the lines of briefly in a trance. The wind blowing against his ears and even the rock rolling on the floor make no sound. All he can hear is the quiet humming of a female...something inside. It doesn't sound like what you would expect the humming of a kidnapped princess to sound like though, it's probably someone else.
Also, the rock lands on the ground, and rolls a few inches before coming to a stop. Nothing happens to it.Dark Souls Remake in a Nutshell
