    Two things:

    1. Spelling. If we had a spelling duel, I would win, hands down.
    2. Duelling minigames should be refunded if you get kicked/disconnected, or the server has a map change.

Writings and ramblings would be here. Get it out of my head, and into yours.

Oh yes. It's Super Happy Fun to get kicked randomly because someone more important entered.

Even when you just went against notions that "Nucleus is an awful map for Spying" by killing 9 people on your first life.

I must say after playing some Modern Warfare 2 with my roommate and a couple of his friends, it was not fun at all.

Maybe it's because it was my third or fourth time playing that game ever and I wasn't used to it or something. I just didn't really enjoy the way that game worked. It was way to easy to die and or kill someone. I got shot in the knee I think once and I died. Or shotgun to my feet.

TF2 is still much more fun even when I'm not doing that well.

I've finally realized the beauty of the trading system. I managed to finally pick up a Frontier Justice for the price of a measly Demo's Fro.

I can finally trick people into giving me functional items that have never dropped for me in exchange for useless garbage! Oh Valve, truly you have come to answer my prayers.

Yes, I spelled poorly while frustrated. I have taken the requisite ten minutes in the penguin punishment box as dictated by server rules.

It's not the $.20. IT'S THE EPIC. I can't get a refund on epic, unfortunately. If I could, there would be a line. Many people would be there for George Lucas.

Quick question: If I buy Civ V at actual stores, will I be able to play/interact with people who got it through Steam?

Or something like that. On the box it has the same descriptions as the one on Steam, "connect to Steam account" and all that. Anyone know what it means by registering Civ V with Steam and what that will do? Like, can I still download mods from Civ community if I got it through Steam?

Back in the time of Civ IV, I remember being unable to play with my friend because I had the disc and he got it through Steam. Any help on that?

Yeah, "realistic" FPS for me tends to be "You spend a lot of time respawning and die from a strong breeze."

Except for the beautiful tankwork in Battlefield: Desert Combat.

If it's on this list then it will be able to be connected to your Steam account. If it's not on the list, then it won't be able to, even if Steam has the game for sale.

Misread your question a little bit. Yes, you'll be able to interact with Steam users like any other person, or at least you should. I don't see why not. Also as far as I know, you can mod your Steam games like any other game as well.

Yeah Valve said they thought about making TF2 a realistic shooter but everyone does that and they should make it fun. Personally though I did like Battlefield 2 a lot, 1942 kinda sucked since the maps were so huge you got shot once and had to make a 10 minute run back to the fight.

But yeah, realistic, brown fps' just don't sound fun to me. Also, is Yahtzee correct in the fact that a fair amount of games are becoming centered around cover based combat and running from chest high wall to chest high wall? I don't know since I play TF2 and L4D mainly and I don't have much of a reason to play anything else.

I don't see how this is possible. The Steam game is exactly the same for Civ IV. I don't think IV even uses any Steam features at all, other than the overlay. They should be the same.

I honestly don't find them too horrible. Sometimes I just want to sit there and have all my 3 shot bursts be kills. That's when I boot up CoD4 and just pub romp suckers with 54 more ranks than me (seriously, the stock shotgun and smg are rockingly good), normally racking up a decent 3:1 kdr.

All that being said and done, TF2 is a much better game because while twitch aiming is still important for some classes such as scout and sniper, overall each class has a far better and more defined difficulty curve to master their intricacies unlike CoD4 and similar games where all you need to do is aim for the head and spam boolets.

I think yesterday I would have argued that a lot of these games is knowing how to camp. But I just loaded up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the first time ever and went straight into Multiplayer, and stomped Drizvolta quite a bit. It evened out after he got used to me not being terrible and he adapted, and he won the last game we played after a really even one before that.

Which reminds me.. How can I snipe in every other game with alarming accuracy, but in TF2 I can't even bodyshot?

I forgot, are we still doing hat trades here? I have an engi cap and a soldier pot I wish to trade.

Edit: And I suppose a stash as well. The Dr's Dapper Topper makes all other soldier hats meaningless.

Honestly, I find camera shake easier to snipe with. I can correct it well enough to nearly always headshot. However, with a stead scope as in TF2, I seem to go all over the place.

Or it could just be that hit boxes in most other games are larger/the players are worse.

If anyone needs the new Spy Revolver, I'll trade it for some metal or something.

Also, a thought, they should bring back the old viometallin taunt for the Ubersaw, and give the new Vita Saw the taunt kill. It'll look way better with the new weapon.

I "believe" 'cause I almost read the manual once (:)) that the store bought version "has to" be activated on Steam :) They're exactly the same versions. I suspect that 2k are taking advantage of steam's anti-piracy skills as well as the auto-updating capability. Muliplayer probably comes in a distant 3rd :)
