Of power versus tactics:

First, let's consider the environment the characters are in. This is Bleach we're talking about. A fighting anime which, by all accounts, is one of the subgenres of anime that uses the "tactics versus power" argument very, very often. In order to create dramatic tension, the hero is very often presented with an opponent who is more capable than himself in some respect - defense power, attack power, accuracy, evasion capabilities, and so on. (Bleach specifically does this poorly. Despite the variety of powers a Zanpakutou can have, it seems that every fight eventually gets decided by "whoever underestimates their opponent more loses".)

I agree that there is a point that no matter how smart you fight, overwhelming power is exceedingly likely to trump you. Speaking of statistics, there's a point at which your chances of winning are so close to zero they may as well not exist. Strategy, however, has a tendency to turn those numbers close to zero a little closer to one. Good strategy relies on attacking blind spots, getting to weak points your opponent didn't know he had, creating them if he doesn't have any, and so on. Most of them also rely on your opponent not seeing them coming. The basic reason Batman beats Superman in a given instance relies on Batman outwitting Superman. In effect, Batman is practically the poster boy for tactics over raw power - by all accounts, the sheer amount of enemies he's faced in situations where he by no means should come out on top (and yet he did) would have power triumph over strategy.

"Stealth" isn't a power, it's a tactic. This is because the usage of stealth is an approach to a problem (a problem that's basically defeating an opponent) and by itself it does not accomplish your objective. If your objective happened to be "go around undetected", then it would be a power. Even so, there is more than one way to do it: create a distraction, kill the guards before they spot you, mix in sleeping pills in the guards' coffee, disguising oneself as a guard...

I'm failing to see how I was the one prolonging the argument.

I was more going with "dark alleys between buildings, and shadows from things like ledges". I think I even said the last bit of the trip relied on his cloak and his silent moves for stealth, as it was rather open.

Opening the door via one side was so he wasn't a nice, juicy target with a backlight.

Sora contacts her, invites her to hang out, fills her in on teh happenens.

Well. There are a few options, here.

1.)Natsuko and Taiki interact. This one is not really time-dependent.

2.)She could meet with the people currently returning from the Joint Patrol. More time dependent, but still flexible. That said, might be good to let Frozen take the lead, since he controls the character who was the initial "officer in the field".

3.)She could interact with other SS characters. Masaru, for instance. Perhaps it's the morning after the Captain's party, and Natsuko is checking on "how well Taiki behaved himself" or some such thing?

Not really. He saw that Mei was in better shape than he'd estimated, and that Serazel was holding his own quite well. So he stopped. It was a cost/benefit analysis.

He felt probably 2 seconds of nervousness when she sonidoed behind him. But that was it. She didn't attack or anything.
