Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
Habit and pride. Like, I feel I should always be physically fit enough to take the stairs. If it tires me out seriously, something must be done.
Same goes for escalators, which makes it very annoying that two of the metro stations in Newcastle no longer have any stairs.
Sounds good, though that's to be expected, since it's Bach.

It's the patter song. I'm finding it difficult to find a youtube video I like of it, but this one's alright as far as I've listened, though it's hard to follow the words.
Basically, with the Glee Don't Stop Believing, I can't think of a reason why you wouldn't iust listen to the original. It's unambiguously better, because they haven't done anything special with it in the process of choralising it.
Halleluiah I've never actually seen or heard an actual choral arrangement, iust someone singing it and other people making up harmonies as they go.
Also, poeple only ever do the more recent version, never the original Leonard Cohen.
Well exactly. The comparison I would make would be with a review I read on contact binary stars, from 1984, which basically explained all the theories which had been developed up to that point, which was very useful to me when I was doing my proiect, since it told me all the most pertinent points, and where I should look for more details. But even then, as you say, it did comment on the fact that some theories were much more robust than others, and so on.
This person of unspecified gender speaks the truth.
Mmm, cinnamon sugar. Though if I want a buttery pancake, I iust cook it in butter. Chocolate sure, so long as it's melted. Chocolate spread or chocolate sauce definitely work, but I wouldn't go for the cream or the almonds, or the banana Syrup can work, but there needs to be something else as well."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Oh, most sandwiches would be weird if they were crispy.
I mean stuff with like really thin bread that's just falling apart constantly, as opposed to my suggested peanut butter waffle sammich which sticks together and doesn't bend.
I love making abominations in the kitchen.
I've combined waffles, peanut butter and chocolate syrup(/sauce).
It was delicious.
Also, as stated by AtlanteanTroll, waffles aren't sweet.Last edited by absolmorph; 2010-10-22 at 09:47 PM.

Peanut Butter Waffle sammich. A solid plan, but you need wallfes that are both light and structurally sound...

I seem to have acquired a 1998 Vertigo hardback edition of Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess' Stardust. I usually write my name on the title page of my books, but was wondering if it would be a bad idea to do so in a collectible. Does anyone know anything about this or have any thoughts? I'm not planning on selling it, but I'd like to at least know the ramifications of what I'm doing.

Thus reinforcing my belief that Americans are all insane :P
Waffles, not sweet? Psh.
Unless of course, you're talking about potato waffles, and those are a whole different kettle of fish.
No, I don't know how the fish got into the batter either.Quotebox

The fridge? Why on earth would you keep them in the fridge? Room temperature is entirely adequate.

Eggo waffles are disgusting.
I've had them once, they are almost throw-up worthy.
I guess I'm just spoiled from my mother making everything from scratch, and teaching me too. Our pancakes are made out of buckwheat.
And our waffles are not that different.

Waffles for me are made of the same base batter as pancakes.
Maybe a little bit more flour, but that's it.
I use Flour, Eggs, Milk, Salt and melted butter in my waffle batter.
Waffles should be eaten fresh off the waffle iron with either whipped cream and some preserve of some sort, or ice cream.
The idea of using peanut butter on waffles intrigues me. I think I need to try that sometime. Chocolate spread/Nutella should also work.

And I've gotta recommend pancakes with Apple or Rhubarb sauce. That is delicious. Never tried it with waffles though.. Hmm, perhaps I should do so. *runs to kitchen*

Man, Eggo waffles were ok when I was a kid, but for some strange reason after going through puberty they just felt completely different. It was weird. So now I can't seem to get them to not feel vaguely plasticine or uncooked...x.x Well, or burnt if I go over the plasticine threshold, but, well, most things taste burnt if you burn them.

I am now the proud owner of one of these beauties:

Om nom nom. Although I'm using my Iron Cobra bass pedal on it, which obviously makes mine way better than the one in that picture. The amount of cardboard that comes with it is ridiculous, though. I could probably build myself a small cardboard house with all of it. Oh well, it'll all go in the recycling. ^^
Also, the setup instructions keep telling me to do things like "insert the snare pipe firmly" or "tighten hand knob". They're also rather labyrinthine. It's like some kind of Ikea-electrical cable nightmare. Or it is for me, at least. Me, who has all the practical skill of a dead fish in a locked cupboard.cool avatar by araveugnitsuga

I'll go one better. Here they sell ready-to-eat room temperature waffles. Instead of the "solid margarine" feel of Eggo frozen waffles, these room temperature waffles are a matrix of powdery (not powdered) sugar, and not nearly as yummy as this suggests.

Went out to the only Mexican restaurant in town last night, and confirmed that they have no idea how to cook Mexican. The "chili con carne" was a very tasty sloppy joe filling, but calling it chili con carne when there is no detectable chili in the dish is a bit of a misnomer. We're talking about authenticity several steps below that of Taco Bell.

Why... why did you go when you were almost certain to be disappointed?
...On another note How/Why/What? A Mexican restaurant in Ireland? Even one that serves cuisine that is less Meixcan than taco bell.... There's something weird about this scenario.
