"I fought in the zombie invasion." she said brightly.

Len doesn't seem phased by the response.

What type of Zombies?

"He is." Crissy smiles, and blushes a bit, as now all three of BR's characters present are mid-blush. "And he's so modest, too, but he's really good with rocks and minerals and crafting and geology and all that!"

Oh, that's interesting. Hasn't he made you some sort of magical trinket? As of right now, Kevin seems a better match for Crissy than Connor... but of course, Dorotha'd have to actually talk to the latter.

Crissy nods, and holds up the diamond amulet she's wearing.
"Yeah, he did - he made this! It boosts my strength and helps me carry stuff around and lift things."

((*is dragged off* ))

The grey-furred rodent-thing heads towards Len and Emily. It appears in every way to be a rodent, yet there's something odd about it. It's hard to say what, however.

Len doesn't seem phased by the response.

What type of Zombies?

"The kind with assault rifles and bazookas." she explained brightly. She concentrated for several seconds-maybe even a full minute (feel free to act during that time), and the gourd vanished, her hair changing to a brown colour, like it had been originally. She then concentrated again, and picked a bazooka out of the air. "Like this one! I took it from a dead zombie. Well, redead."

She doesn't appear to notice the rodent thing.

Oh, those kinds of Zombies.

Len's eyebrow quirks when Emily's hair color changes.

Heh. I've never been much for weapons that don't depend on the strength of the user.

Len notices the rodent and attempts to shoo it away with his hand.

Marcie drops her hands as the box vanishes, and, her cheeks quite red, smiles. "Is OK. Companions are not always good thing, yes?"

I guess so. It has been helpful, at times.
Drew looks around,
Did you want something to drink? Or eat?

The rodent thing doesn't appreciate being shooed away. A fact it tries to communicate by biting Len's hand. It's teeth are easily strong enough to pierce skin and draw blood.

Riv gets up shakily, as he's been drinking for several days, and walks over to the rodent. Bending down till he's eye level with the rodent he begins to speak. Can you understand english? If so, are you a eldritch abomination in the form of a rodent?

Cha-ching.

That is the sound the door makes, as the newest resident of the NEXUS walks in.

Did I say walks? I meant scrambles. The sienna and white foot-long ermine scurries across the tavern on all fours rather quickly. The animal makes a relatively big jump up to a barstool, which it spins on comically.

It would probably be best to note that this ermine is wearing a rather large and worn out hat with many huge feathers stuck in it. Despite the hat seeming to be almost as long as the ermine's body, it fits on its head perfectly.

Since Len is not responding to an attempted bite, the rodent-thing looks at Riv. It can't speak English, and it's not an eldrich abomination. It attempts to convey this information by biting him.

(I was waiting to see if Lix would respond, but it seems she has logged off)

Gah!

Len yanks his hand back and grabs the knife at his belt. He stabs at the rodent.

Riv understands perfectly. He bites back, but not hard enough to cause serious harm.

Sorry, bit shaky on the language. My name Riv, what you name?

Forget that! He tries to block the blade with his death ray while simultaneously aiming it at the madman attacking his new friend! Hey! What's your problem!

The ermine in the floofy hat, seated like a human on a barstool, lifts the hat up a bit so it can see. Its beady hazel eyes glare at the rat, which seems to be getting all the attention in the tavern. Not one to pass by quietly though, the ermine jumps up on the counter and leaps from table to table until it is close to Riv, Len, and the rodent.

The little bugger bit me, that's what! And if you want to keep that hand, I suggest you lower the gun.

Presuming Len isn't bitten by the rodent-thing, it'll dash away sharp-like. Fortunately, it seems the other man it bit (with intention to draw blood) is protecting it for some reason. It is also headed towards the ermine, which might note it smells a bit like a mouse, a bit like a rat and lot like nothing else in existence.

Your the guy who brought a knife to a dath-ray fight, you're in no position to make demands! Besides, he was just talking in his native language! I think it meant 'Hey, stop shoving me!"

(Riv might be wrong, please do say if he is)

Riv is actually wrong. It doesn't have a language. The reason it was biting is completely unrelated. Incidently, did it manage to draw blood from either bite?

The ermine lifts its hat once again so it can see whats happening. It's eyes give the rat thing a fixed glare.

"Yar. What in da devil's name be ye?"

It tries to poke the rodent with a clawed finger. Experimentally.

And yes. It did just talk.

It managed to draw machine oil. His finger (and several other parts) are robotic.

Len tightens his grip on the knife to keep it from slipping in his bloody hand.

Oh, I've brought more than one knife.

As he says this he throws a knife from his sleeve at the death ray in Riv's hand.

Len looks at the ermine in surprise when it speaks.

Did that ferret just talk?

Machine oil? That's no good. Unless there's nanobots in it. Since it appears to have bitten Len and drawn blood (unless I'm misunderstanding) the creature grows. As it does so, it changes slightly; its eyes are now the same colour as Len's. The ermine manages to poke it! And may get bitten for the trouble. It's not very sociable, is it?

Ooh, this might not be good.

Len sheathes his knife and reaches under his coat, gripping the hilt of one of his swords.

Riv fires at his assailant pretty much point blank. The death-ray is also more of a death blaster as it unleashes a large cone of death, not a ray, heck, it's currently set to "Stun & Mangle", so it isn't even a death blaster.

Sadly he didn't have time to dodge and fire, so his hand just got pinned to the now broken blaster.

The ermine has good reflexes, and snaps the finger back if the rodent makes any moves to bite it. Len will find himself being glared at!

"Oi! Tis' an ermine, ermine! Ye ain't talkin' to no bloody ferret!"

It waves a claw in Len's general direction, managing to frown. Its hat is beginning to tip forward and obscure its vision again though. So it does not see the death ray.

"Hey! Stop it!" said Emily, a flare of white energy flooding her eyes for a moment as the offensive actions nearby were shielded by divine light.

Go ahead and find a way round it if you like, but it ought to work. (Shrug)

(how does said divine light work? Need to know whether it counters the specific death ray I'm using.)

(Quick question: What exactly happened to the knife flying about 55 miles per hour straight at the death ray?)

Len jumps and rolls to the left, narrowly avoiding the cone of stunning and mangling. He draws his sword and throws a blunt knife at Riv's head.

The thing about guns is that you can't control them after they fire.

That's what you think, Riv says, deflecting the blade with the blaster pinned to his hand and drawing what appears to be a tiny missile crossed with a dart form his pocket.
