I know some people get touchy about it, so I'd just like to say that I have no problems with anyone taking out a contract on any of my characters, with the sole caveat that it should be purely for IC reasons.

Paradoxically, I'm at the point where killing off one of my PCs would get me more RP than if it was alive.

This, but with the extra caveat that you PM me first. I may not want a contract against a particular character.

Or, I might not want a particular action taken against them.

Though if you make someone angry enough IC to make them want to hire you dead, it isn't exactly fair to veto it OOC. Though that has to be balanced against the 'we're all here to play nicely together' axiom.

The one person I ever took out a hit on IC went to permadeadtime shortly thereafter. That was a long time ago.

Yes, I'm fine with hits as long as its justified IC. If the idea of Raz annoys you, and you make a character for the sole purpose of hosing him *without asking me*, that's not cool. If he steals your character's money, points a gun at them, and shoots their gnome in the belly, then theres no problem if that character orchestrates a hit.

Actually, I'd prefer to put out a kidnapping contract than an assassination contract.

Probably because then, you can have a plawt to rescue the kidnappee. Whereas with assassination... they're just dead. And either get raised, or don't.
