    Strengthened by Korack's magic Fengr ignores the heavy blows from the undead and launches a ferocious counter-attack and in comparison the mindless strikes from the skeletons seem pathetic.

    Fengr and Ford continue to pound into the ranks of the undead, making much headway into them. The skeletons in front of them fal to their slashing claws and Fords great blade. The men on the wall around them have almost disabled the zombie that they have focused their arrows on, but it still stands if only just barely. Janicks spell empowers him to assault the enemies, and as he casts it he hears a great roar from the tree line not far beyond the battle field.

    That Ursine roar is carried to everyone on the walls, even as Brunmir cuts down another zombie, and Wulfgars arrow fells the second Zombie near to Brunmir. The great doors are creaking and shuddering but staying strong against the assault of the large skeletons for the moment.

    Undead

    On Koracks side, Brunmir takes another wound to his upper torso, leaving him bloody but still standing. One Zombie feebly swats at Koracks incorporeal form for a moment, and the shuffling Skeleton in front of V2 swings wide against him.

    Ford and Fengr see the places of the last undead filled by fresher subjects, who both swing their rusty weapons, one at each man.

    Janick says a prayer, looking angrily at the enemies out of his reach. Getting annoyed at not being in range of the creatures on the top of the wall, Janick jogs to his left and hops down the other side of the wall and lands on the ground outside next to the Troll Skeleton. He calls out to Oden as he regains his footing and thrusts his spear back at the ready, preparing for his enemies.

    Janick first casts divine favor on himself (for a +3 bonus to attack and damage), he then moves to his left and hops down the wall (probably taking falling damage).

    Also this should be round 3/9 of Divine Power.

    Moving nimbly along the steep ledge, Wulfgar sidles ever closer to Brunmir's side. Wulfgar places a hand upon Brunmir's shoulder, words from a tongue unknown escapes from his lips, and a rush of heat and force pulse into his bloodied friend. Brunmir's form begins to distort and haze, blurring as though moving faster than the eye can see.

    The undead are driven off well by the attacks of the viking men and the heroes before them. The right side wall is cleared of undead by the magically quickened attacks that Korack bestowed upon them.

    The undead on the right hand wall feebly swat at Korack, not smart enough to understand that he is currently invulnerable to their attacks. Brunmir evades the swipe of a zombie in front of him thanks to the blurry sheen placed about him by Wulfgar.

    A large bear lumbers forward from the tree line and bellows a roar, another line of undead accompanying it. When it roars several birds flush from the trees behind it.

    A mere moment later a large burning chunk of stone appears high above the battlefield and smashes down towards the braced doors. The impact destroys the two troll skeletons and the zombie trying to b eat the door down, and blows the door open in a blast of hot air flying debris and hay straw.

    Brunmir and the Vikings atop the wall manage to fell the skeleton remaining there and damage the two remaining Zombies. Brunmir is bleeding out of several wounds but still has plenty of fight left in him.

    Janick heals his wounds quickly as Ford and Fengr take up positions to defend against these new threats. Wulfgars arrow sinks into the Dire Bears hide and it lets out a roar as Fengr charges.

    Fengrs claws and the lightning from Koracks attack have the bear in a freny, and it steps forward into the fray as it swats its claws at the attackers. The undead swarm forth against them as well.

    A great roc comes from the south then, lighting in the square and off its back hops Gunnar, mighty friend to Ford and Fengr. He holds a finely crafted greatsword, surely made by none other than Jordmundjr. He has returned to the quest to defeat Lopt, and he has a good look at what is going on on the battlefield.

    As he lands, a great gout of fire formulates above the building to Gunnars left, slamming down upon its roof and causing it to splinter and catch fire. Men and women rush out from the south with buckets and form a line trying to get the barracks put out.

    Gunnar jumps off the roc's back, thanking the noble creature as he does so. Standing in the square, his attention is focused on the dire bear at the gates. Even when the nearby house explodes, he only spares it a glance. Seeing the villagers rushing to handle the fire, the warrior looks back at the bear.

    Grinning maniacally, the barbarian sheathes his sword as he runs towards the fighting. As soon as he sheathes the weapon, he begins to change. Black fur erupts all over his body as he falls to all fours. His body becomes larger, his face elongating into a snout full of teeth. Before he's gone a dozen steps a black bear is charging at the gate.

    As soon as he gets close enough, Gunnar launches himself at the dire bear, attempting to grab hold of the beast.

    As the bear tears into Ford, he becomes even more enraged. His falchion surges with his bloodlust, which Ford uses to fuel his own.

    The next thing he knows, a great black bear charges past him and locks into a grapple with the one in front of him. Ford unleashes his rage upon the nearest skeleton.

    The Jaws cast by Korack bring the bird down to the ground, its wings flapping and legs kicking as the jaws constrict it. The bird quickly seems to warp and distort, and mere seconds later it has stretched and twisted into the form of a rough looking human. His hand outstretches towards Ford and the ensuing battle but a pained look shoots across his face and nothing seems to happen, to his dismay.

    The druid screams a command, his voice high pitched as he fights against the ghostly jaws that stop him from being able to properly defend himself.

    "Come to me Spirit! Defend your new master!"

    With those words a black inky shape rises from the ground in front of the wall Korack, Wulfgar and Brunmir are atop. Its eyes burn like small firey coals in its head, and it seems altogether to be made up of moving shadow. It wears a great shroud, complete with druidic markings and symbols, many of which have not been openly used in hundreds of years.

    You recognize the shroud this spirit is draped in. It marks this spirit as certainly being that of a great druid. Galnon Kingthistle was a druid of great reknown in Nelgaard and Fangoren. He spoke to many of the ancient spirits of the world, and disappeared into Elsimar some two hundred years ago to confront an evil spirit that threatened the land. His fate is now known.


    Ford is able to lay waste to the skeletons in front of him, they having been weakened by the lightning attacks Korack threw not long ago. Janick and Fengr are able to destroy two of the four zombies ahead of them, and wound the other two fairly well.

    The Zombies and Skeletons have a terrible time this round, unable to deal damage to any target except one Viking(V3) who takes a moderate wound to his belly.

    Gunnar is able to hold his own against the Bear, The bear failing to establish dominance in the grapple, leaving them still at even terms in their confrontation.

    The druid struggles against the grappling jaws but fails to harry the melee combatants with his spell, losing it to failing to be able to concentrate.

    The spirit rises up through the ground and sets its sights on defending the druid, as it was commanded.

    I drew in the spell effect before making the concentration check. I actually should just figure out Inkscape. It doesn't work right on my computer for some reason. Instead, I use Paint...So just ignore those brown splotches that were supposed to signify where he cast his Wall of Thorns.

    The spirit bear's eyes now look from the spot the bird fell and turned into a druid, to the two bears now wrestling with each other, and then finally on the newly arrived spirit creature. Letting out a loud roar once more, directing it toward the powerful spirit.

    Meanwhile the spectral jaws continue to harass the druid now turned into human form.

    Wulfgar's eyes slowly move from the wrestling bears across the field of battle to the fallen druid and the newly coalesced wraith. Falling upon the cloak draped around the wraith, a spark ignites in the back of the Nord's mind of something he once read. Pushing that aside, he remembers where he stands and pulls taut the string of his bow, looking down the shaft of the strung arrow at the enormous bear to his right hand side.
