Sneering silently to himself, Charon readies to fire on the heretics ahead. "Enough cowardly sneaking. The time for stealth seems to be over. I'll continue to cover the main horde from here."

    Spoiler
    Show

Charon is right with Tristan and Kaeste. He was only going to hang back if they tried to enter melee with the guards.

Sustained Suppression allows Charon to act normally while maintaining overwatch, so he is still providing overwatch against the main horde assaulting the walls.

    Rolled in OOC.
    Initiative: [roll]1d10+4[roll]
    Full Auto Burst: 48 + 20 + 10 (range) = 78
    [roll]1d100[roll]

2 DoS, giving 3 hits with metal storm. Min dmg is 10 Pen 4, so that gives 6 Magnitude + 1 for X + 3 (Unrelenting) 10 Magnitude damage.

Looks like they are dead before Charon's turn. I seem to be doing well at rolling awful for Initiative

Anyway...Charon will remain in Support range while they move up to the Basilisk. If the main horde was alerted by this skirmish, he will begin firing on them.

Having been spotted, you quickly put the Renegade Milita down in a hail of Bolter and Metal Storm rounds; leaving none alive and the leaving the Basilisk spattered crimson and slightly pocket marked. Such is the speed and lethality of your takedown that Brother Charon barely has to stop walking whilst you deal with the Renegade Militia. Indeed, such is the speed and lethality that no general alarm could be sounded and the main Hordes engaging the walls remain engaged in their assault, thinking all is well.

Despite this, however, it is likely that any long silence from this Basilisk will rouse suspicion and may expose you.

    Spoiler

(OOC: Onissius, are you using your power on Fettered, Unfettered or are you Pushing it? Whatever you choose, you've activated your power and it's done it's work)

Onissius mumbles a few words under his breathe and gestures towards the Renegade Militia around the Basilisk. Suddenly the space in front of Onissius bursts into flame and you can make out the shapes of Warp Warden Battle Brothers of centuries past within the flames. They then join together to form a flaming construct and hurl themselves towards the enemy. The Renegade Militia barely have time to raise their hands in a crude protective manner before the flames wash over them, engulfing them in fiery death.

Those that remain alive after the deadly psychic assault are immediately cut down by Svari's Metal Storm rounds, sending gore splattering over the Basilisk and silencing them before they even knew what hit them. The Basilisk is secure and the Horde engaging the walls are none the wiser.

Despite this, however, it is likely that any long silence from this Basilisk will rouse suspicion and may expose you.

Kaeste nodded in satisfaction as the traitors fell to a man and sprinted forward for the Basilisk's cabin. He hefted himself up into the seat and began to survey the controls. He quickly realized, with a rictus grin, that he knew exactly how to operate the mighty beast. A mechandendrite slithered out and plugged in. The machine spirit was screaming in agony. But beneath that he felt a burning desire to visit its wrath on the heretics and renegades who had twisted its purpose. "Tristan, you will need to spot for me. This beast is eager to visit vengeance on those who so defiled it."

After the Basilisk thunders off a shell into the crowd ahead, Charon adds his firepower to the cacophony. "Commencing support fire. The foul Traitors will fall beneath my avenging fire. No mercy for those who scorn the Emperor's Light!"

I'm going to assume the Renegade horde is mostly gone. If they are around 1/2 strength or higher, apply the burst at them instead of the Traitor marine.

Full Auto fire at the Traitor Marine

    (1d100)[42]
6 hits on the Marine. 22, 26, 14, 24, 15, 21 all Pen 4. That's Arm, Arm, Body, Head, Body, Arm per the chart on 239.

Unleashing the Overwatch burst on the Heretics around him.
    BS: 48 +20 + 30(size?) +10 (unaware) = 108
(1d100)[42] See OOC for Damage rolls

    6 DoS = 7 rounds = (7x2 +1 +4) = 19 Magnitude damage.

The horde also needs to take a Pinning test at -20. Not sure if they get any modifiers for being a horde (didn't see any).

Unleashing a hellish salvo, Charon sends heavy fire at the heretics and the Traitor marine assaulting the walls. Untold numbers of heretics are torn apart by his fire. "To forget is to forgive. I forget nothing!"

"Acknowledged brother". Azirel confirms Alyxander's command and righteous anger begins to build inside him as he recites litanies of hate against the enemies of Mankind and as the glorious image of his Primarch hovers in his memory. Before him are the tainted humans who succumbed to Chaos and amidst them, foremost in their unholy onslaught against the Imperial forces, are the vile traitor marines, who fell to the lure of the Chaos gods and damned themselves for all eternity.

"Those who forsake the Light of the Emperor shall face His righteous judgment. Those who consort with the vile forces of Chaos, shall face His eternal wrath".

His blood almost boils in his veins and eyes are wells of fury behind his helmet. He tightens his grip on his chainsword and bolt pistol and is almost as a whirlwind waiting to be unleashed.

Unfortunately Azirel's sprint is noticed by the Militia and they prepare themselves to defend the Basilisk. "Incoming! Protect the Basilisk! For Chaos!"

(Horde is no longer surprised, Horde Initiative was 9, Azirel will make a successful Charge using his jump pack on his turn, however it was specified that Alyxander would fire before Azirel's Charge, so I shall allow the effects of that to have occured. Both of you roll initiative.)

As Alyxander watches Azirel run across the plain in a Frenzy of bloodlust, he notices that the Militia has spotted his Brother and opens fire, hoping to reduce the enemy numbers for Azirel by the time he gets to them. 4 Metal Storm rounds scream through the night and for a moment it looks like only one would find it's mark and only just barely. However at the last moment the Militia shift into a defensive formation around the Basilisk, a tight cluster, which proves to be an unwise choice for them as all 4 rounds explode upon them in glorious fashion, sending gore everything. And destroying over half of them. (4 hits * 2 Blast + 1 Explosive = 9 Mag Damage, Horde will test to break on their turn, however they are Disciplined and do not suffer the -10 penalty to their WP).

Alyxander again lets fly with his Metal Storm rounds and the remaining Militia are swiftly cut down in the hail of deadly bullets and frag. Only a single Militiaman remains. He turns around to survey the casualties to his squad, only to find them all dead, and turns back to face his foes, contemplating fleeing. He does not get the chance. (4 hits * 2 Blast + 1 Explosive = 9 Mag Damage, Horde is destroyed)

His jump pack, his chainsword and indeed he himself roaring, Azirel descends upon the lone Militiaman, sweeping his Chainsword in a downward arc. There is a muffled roaring from the Chainsword before both sides of the Militiaman fall neatly away from each other as he is cleft in two, blood oozing everywhere and coating Azirel in the familiar colour of crimson. With this fight over and his bloodlust no where near satisfied, Azirel looks, almost hungrily, at the Hordes attacking the walls.

(Due to the speed of your take down, the Hordes and CSMs are unaware you've hijacked the Basilisk. If you take too long to fire, they'll get suspicious of course. Since there is still combat going on around Azirel, even though he's not technically part of it right now, he remains Frenzied and must move to engage the Hordes attacking the walls (he may choose to avoid the ones that will be hit by the Basilisk shell) or he may pass a Challenging (+0) Willpower Test to temporarily regain control of himself and aid Alyxander in the firing of the shell.)

He shall descend upon them as an angel of death, cut them to pieces, sent their unholy souls to eternal torment, for that is the fate of those who defy the God-Emperor. A crimson haze in his eyes, almost threatening to engulf him...

And then...his brother's curt voice through the vox-link, cutting sharply at the web of his thoughts. Trying to pull him from his frenzied state, from his engulfing and self-consuming bloodlust.

He must calm himself. They have a plan. He has orders. Father Sanguinius. Lord Emperor. Grant me strength of will, to regain my composure and serve you as my brothers deem better. Calm my soul to better execute Your plan.

Azirel tries to calm himself, however the thought of letting the vile and treacherous servants of Chaos live another second angers him more and an almost feral indistinct pulls him towards the Hordes assaulting the walls at a run.

Seeing his Brother abandon the plan and run towards the enemy, Alyxander realises his Brother is lost to his battle Frenzy and he must act quickly to spot and fire for the Basilisk and turn it towards the Chaos Marine if necessary. By the time he reaches the Basilisk's bloody controls, Azirel is nearly within Charging distance of the Hordes, having slowed his pace slightly in the knowledge of a coming bombardment on the forces ahead of him by his Brother.

(Azirel may wait within Charging distance of the closest Horde (in this case, a Mag 40 Renegade Militia Horde assaulting the South-West of the Fortress), however if and once the shell from the Basilisk falls he must direct all his efforts into meleeing or getting into melee with the Hordes around him. The Basilisk Alyxander is using is not currently aimed toward a CSM. It can be repositioned slightly to the left to hit the one leading the assault on the West wall, however once that is done, the firing arc needs to be adjusted and then the shell will be fired, which will take a Full Turn longer than the other two teams who have already moved/calculated a firing arc.)

Alyxander spends a moment positioning the Basilisk to fire on the Chaos Marine, while he does so he speaks into the vox, "Brother Azirel has succumbed to the righteous fury of The Emperor and charged the heretics. Preparing to fire the Earthshaker by myself." That said he makes a final minute adjustment before opening fire.
