"For such rewards, I would risk this theft you speak of. But I would appreciate the opportunity to rest and recuperate before we set out, Lord."

Iivraena's used her right hand, which wasn't holding Alakdriirn's leash, to pinch herself a bit. Were her ears deceiving her? Thus far, it seemed the answer was no. Granted, the idea did seem a bit risky... more because of whom this was, not necessarily the task. Albeit, so far, he had proven he was one to at least keep his promises.

That being said.... it wouldn't be untrue for Iirvraena to silently admit the idea of being a female of even more power than what she had sounded incredible. Just the thought made a smirk cross her lips. Ironic how she hadn't originally been sent to aid Beezlebub and yet she was finding herself enjoying assisting him more than Levistus thus far.

After a bit, she nodded, first signing to Alakdriirn, I do believe we have found our .... more stable employer.... Her eyes then looked up to the form before her as she bowed her head respectfully to it. "Me and my servant shall also assist you, Beezlebub."

Perhaps the only real concern still going through her head were the words she'd just said and Lolth hearing them. Yet what she was constantly trying to remind herself was there was, to her, a huge difference in serving someone and praying in someone's name; the latter of which she did for Lolth.

"I won't speak for anyone else save Alakdriirn but after all the teleporting we've had done to us, mentally more than physically, we're both exhausted. So we, for sure, would like to rest." That all was hinted at both the group and Beezlebub himself.

The next day, you all wake up, feeling very refreshed. You are all given enough time to fully awake before each being led by a demon servant to the portal which will be used to go to the Cathedral.

Rested and with renewed vigor, Theda and Tonn make their way back with their escort. A dozen questions for their host swirl in her head, but for now, she is content to wait in silence until she is back in the presence of the Lord of Lies.

Iivraena had quite the content smirk as she walked out with Alakdriirn and her escort. Last night had been a very good night... at least for her if not both. Then again, she honestly didn't care what he did or didn't like nor had she ever done so. Her eyes closed as her feet seemed to lead her the way the escort was going.

By the time her eye reopened she saw Theda was also awake and she gave her a slight nod of her head. "Morning.." She quietly whispered .... then smirked again. If anyone can consider the Abyss even having such a time... ah well..... She tossed her silver hair behind her, patiently waiting for the Lord of the Flies to show up again and, this time, give everyone the entire mission. After all, they at least needed to know what exactly they needed to retrieve from the Cathedral before heading through the portal.

The travel through the portal is smooth, placing you in front of the Black Cathedral. A quick push on the door gets you inside. As you step inside, all but the door disappears from your vision as you find yourself completely immersed in a magical darkness. You can swear that you can hear the growling of demons of the damned within the darkness.

As you all stand there, one of the elves who arrived late in the last mission steps through the portal, seemingly fearless or infinitely foolish; hard to tell the difference. The voice begins again, The Black Cathedral holds in it one of the three aspects of a great evil known in this land as Cyric. Four priests guard the power that I seek, each with their own key though it is useless to search without all four.

Ia conjures up Elder Heresy elementals until he is disturbed in his casting. He looks around the room, looking for the sounds he heard.

(no one els has followed you through the portal yet so I don't know if hivemind can cross back through the portal to the others for hem to either accept or reject it)

The darkness lifts from your eyes as you see the entire front room of this cathedral is made of a black stone/metal that creates the illusions of entrances where there are non and distorts perception. pews line the floor leading to a large tell edifice of a Demon with a large black-steel mace in it's hands, the statue seems to be raising it's weapon to ready an attack or to defend from one incoming.

The sounds seem to be from the darkness itself as if it is a living thing.

Oh, Cyric. He's an old friend. But killing priests *is* one of my favorite hobbies. Nicos smirks. The night of rest had been a nice consideration, although the fact that he had stayed up half the night trying to ensure nobody entered his room during the night. He'd have to be even more a fool than that elf took him for to trust any of the rest of them What in the hells is that elf doing? Probably best not to know... Cyric. I stole from his temples a bit, although I would consider him a bit more friendly than other gods. Mostly because I stole from him slightly less.

Theda nods. When the strange elf steps through the portal, it's like a dark shadow is removed from her spirit. She takes a deep breath.

"I understand. Cyric. We are intent on playing with fire, aren't we? Who are the priests?"

Iivraena shook her head as Ia walked through. Fool.... I don't care how many elementals or things he can crush into nothing,, there's no way any one person can do a task alone, especially one assigned by a demon.... It was then she noticed Nicos walk in. She gave him the same bow she'd given Theda then looked up as she heard the voice speaking once again. "And what, if you can say, is the exact item we're seeking? Last it appeared to be a spindle... is there any way you can say what this is before we head off?" If not, she wouldn't mind but it'd definitely make things easier for not just her, but everyone she was pretty sure.

(After going over the effects of your Divinity's Demise, I found the part where it says no divination spells work unless class or racial ability. Does this include your scrying orbs and scrying itself so it cancels their effects along with the True Seeing,? [which is also Divination])

You seek not an object but power itself. Locked away in that black church is Cyric's aspect of lies itself. The very portfolio he stole from Bane before he rose to power. With that power added to my own reinforcement over deception, I shall be able to emerge from this cocoon.

Theda places a reassuring hand on Tonn's haunch. She nods.

"I see. Do we have some way of capturing this energy, or will you come to claim it yourself? And...who are these priests who have these keys?"

The power must be claimed by one of you and then given up to me. In essence, one of you will assume the portfolio of the God of Lies from this realm in order to give it to me. The four priests are some of his most devout followers. They hold the way to his power and shall stop at nothing to protect it. I know not their names as with deception they come with many titles.

Iivraena nodded after a bit, looking to Theda. "I think we have enough information to be able to, more confidently than Ia, walk through. Lest you have any other questions... think we should go on now?" She asked, remembering before she spoke to do so in Common. It was weird considering she was used to Undercommon... but slowly she was beginning to get a bit used to it. As far as going against four priests was in her mind... well.... she herself was a priestess. It couldn't be too difficult, especially if they picked the more typical spells that most did. If nothing else, Alakdriirn could probably snipe some of them.

I kind of see Pilo as the good person doing nothing kind of evil, he sees it recognizes it, occasionally dabbles in it, but normally he just does nothign to stop it and reaps the benefits :)

Theda is happy to have Ia softening up the opposition as well, and seems in no hurry to step through the portal.

"I see. And are these priests still able to channel the divine power of their god, dead though he is? Or do their powers lie elsewhere?"

Cyric is still alive, unless I'm much mistaken. It's just that much of his power is lessened by Bane's resurgence. As much as I'd like to sit around and talk, we likely have the defenses of the cathedral mobilized by now, and if we are going to attack, I'd like to attack as quickly as possible.
Nicos boredly waits by the portal, adopting the demeanor of a rather put-upon servant.

Your fire elementals seems confused by they shrug and start swinging their arms in the magical darkness. The places they swing at seem to disperse the darkness but it fills itself back in, like an inky mist in the air. Your scrying orbs begin to circle around the room. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be able to find any passages outside the area.

The priests draw their power from the aspect itself, therefore their command lies in deception which includes illusions. It's incredibly accurate. While you are all speaking,, the portal wavers a bit. The portal is created through Beezlebub's own unholy powers (which could be considered divine magic I suppose since he is a devil/god). It seems something on the other side is interfering with it.
