Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 13
i think the idea of Quincy "Shunko" mkaes sense with thorough and long training...the Quincy (at least as we saw Ishida) seem inventive and this makes sense IMO

Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 13
You do relaize it's not similar to just Shunko, but Quincy Final Form as well?
In the end, I have nothing against Quincy close-combat techniques. If anything the usage of Seele Schneiders and bows as swrod & shield combination suggests they might have variety of other fall-back styles.
Plus, there's the Quincy technique where they manipulate spirit threads to keep their bodies moving even after being physically incapable of that. It seems like that technique would be likely to be integrated to the style.
@Kuroimaken: I don't see any problems. If anything, I've imagined advanced Hakuda styles utilize such measures for a while now."It's the fate of all things under the sky,
to grow old and wither and die."

The fact that it largely ignores physical means of defense is just a happy coincidence, I assure you.

I'd wagered as much. If threatening is out of line for that, then body-hopping certainly would qualify too.

I do believe in an earlier discussion the idea of threatening Hikari was considered inadmissible. Though I suppose at the time she was still in her mama's tummy.

Because I happened to be listening to the song, and because it suddenly seemed relevant: this one's for Hikari.

Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 13
Yeah, um, harming/killing/bodyhopping Hikari is way, way, way too much for I think any game. I mean, the kid's like a day old at this point.
I'm not against "Quincy Shunko" as long as it is justified in usage and not broken up the wazoo. Quincy having melee techniques is fine. The only melee technique they have is based on a modification of ranged combat (Steele Schneiders). I think the development of Quincy melee techniques normally occurs as an evolution of ranged techniques. But if Rex is really more melee-focused in general, then it seems fine that he could find it by trying to focus Quincy abilities towards melee combat rather than it just occurring out of necessity.
Also, yeah, don't go too close to Final Form, as once you start getting techniques that are in that range of what the ability is doing you're probably getting too powerful. Especially since using Final Form literally overloads a Quincy's powers.

Yeah... Not in my plans really. A baby is not a particularly able combatant and there is an easy way to shove a modsoul out of a body (the skull sign).
Then again he could threaten to rot her up from the inside.
I am actually thinking of Kagome.

Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 13
It's not going to be anywhere near the power level of Final Form. FF one-shotted a Bankai, after all. Quincy Shunko is going to be a nice fallback, probably around the power level of a Seele Schneider but without the need for a physical focus. The downside, of course, is that it's a lot more energy-intensive and, if the user isn't extremely careful, runs the constant risk of breaking their own bones when they attack.
I see Rex's development of the technique being a slow process as he tries to find ways to counter things that get into melee with him. He's always going to primarily be a ranged fighter, but out of necessity and general orneryness he's going to start figuring out a few close combat tricks just in case. It's not my intention for him to ever start flinging Hochfliegenderadlerfaust around all willy-nilly; every use is a calculated risk.If you're in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 13
Okay, a couple of things.
One, on Hirokatsu's Bankai idea. Perhaps it would be better to change the idea from bone-crushing to bone-cracking. That way, if it grazes you, it'll still do its job and hurt, but it won't be an instant "haha I win now" button.
Secondly, is there anything, anything at all, over in Soul Society that I should at least act like I'm getting involved in? I don't want to feel like I'm twiddling my thumbs and doing nothing but grabbing the Idiot Ball because plot says so.

It seems Sigint might still get involved in the chase after Suzume. The scene seems to be on hold, though, since Moon Wolf is absent. Riccaru hasn't made noise of himself, either.
Unless you come up with something outside the box, I think he'll just have to wait, though.
EDIT: Yes, Lalita is exploiting his natural beauty and Pico's inebriated state to make him do something that he'll regret in the future.
Also, what was that about Rouga and delicious flat chests?Last edited by Frozen_Feet; 2010-12-22 at 08:42 PM.

Re: [BitP:R] BleachitP: Reborn: OOC Thread 13
Callos: You noticed I posted with Magatsu, right?
EDIT: Another Quincy idea. What d'you lot think of a possible Ginto that doesn't actually cast anything? Instead, its contents would pour out into a small pool/puddle/whatever of unpurposed liquid reiryoku that a Quincy could draw on to replenish his reserves? It'd probably have a restriction, like having to be poured in a small circle that the Quincy stays inside to draw from.Last edited by Wahrheit; 2010-12-23 at 01:11 PM.
