Not to mention you never did background checks on new members. I mean, giving an assassin vampire a power ring, appalling.

Yeah, he wouldn't have any special powers or anything. He just wouldn't die. He'd be the guy sitting on the sidelines with a slushie just laughing when people do stupid stuff.

I said potential villain, but villain isn't really the right word, I guess enemy would be more accurate. It was one of Recaiden's characters, the one that got a yellow and green ring, and Chezzy tricked into believing that normal Maxios was evil.

On the whole OP thing, I think I've been able to work Carrie as a goddess without letting her do OP stuff by... well, she's actually a lesser deity anyway.

That, and I simply do not put her in combat that is not preplanned. Or very much combat at all. One would think a death goddess would win a fight quickly---I prefer not to bring up the issue by having her adopt mostly a "hugs and milkshakes" policy. Yay hugs!

Firefox discussed resource OP-status, like having a bazillion armies and a spaceship made of super bacon. At most, Carrie has maybe 20 Sable Guides (winged gals with top hats). Their main weapons are skull-topped canes primarily designed for incapacitation, not killing: they fire black plasms that sort of stick and weigh people down. And the Guides are usually working in Carrie's realm anyway.

Really, I don't think I have any significantly OP characters. I prefer to do other unwise things.

I just realized that every single one of my characters could be killed just by sneaking up and shooting them in the head. I sincerely hope I never run into anyone who just shoots people instead of using ultra-fancy magic or superpowers.

Which just gave me an idea for a character.

Yeah, Chezchire can kick mega-mages and lanterns to the curb, but a normal character can rip him to shreds. Which is why he's died in every fight he's ver been in, except the one where his opponent tried to commit suicide mid battle.

I only realized a little while ago that that's what that was... and even then I only managed to get "Place" on my own.

Being a little new here probably didn't help - I don't even think I've been to the Inside thread yet...

Don't be all upset! I understood it was some sort of code fairly quickly, but after that point it was just a lot of cross-eyed arm-flailing trying to figure it out until I decided to post here.

Given my responsibility for the Empire, I figure I should probably weigh in on the 'resource-OP' thing. That would be why I've tried to be quite careful about things like specifying numbers and avoiding overwhelming numbers-type tactics.

I also avoid doing things like calling tanks out to curbstomp everything in sight.

Basically the core idea to keep in mind is: Just because you can call in massive firepower doesn't mean you should.

I occasionally do random stuff like that in my posts. It rarely does much but add flavour but I have fun trying to come up with it. Sometimes I make characters dialogue in other languages

I'm glad you found it interesting at least. I'll just have to think it out more thoroughly next time I try something like that.

Because certain people have been rather annoyd by characters they belive to be OP (not denying that some of them were), I'm just going to post exactly what my new characters abilities are: He has a gun that negates magic, superpowers, ect. and works on whoever it strikes exactly as if they were entirly mortal beings, and actually does more damage to highly non-mortal beings. Someone with supernatural toughness wearing magicly summoned armor and protected by a spell of warding for instance would probably end up as a corpse if shot. He's also capable of using tropes as weapons, like scrying for crime by turning on a TV only to get a very convenient report on a crime, and has decent magic resistance.
