Oh right - try me. Is it a charity mission or something? Personal enlightenment?

He notes her reaction to the coconut cocktail.

The halfling nods spryly at the second comment, mostly because she's busy taking another drink. She leans against the bar facing Raz, and the mage might notice Yenna studying his own muscle tone. Judging by Raz's character sheet, she's probably impressed. "Well, you hit pretty close. I'm there to experience life at its most desperate. The hardest path. There's a lot more to it than that, but the point of the whole experience is to make myself stronger. And help others, if I get the chance. Though that second part really isn't part of the whole deal. I just do what I can."

Raz is lean, but solid, if you follow me. Theres no unnecessary bulges there; he has the build of someone who got fit by actually running and being athletic, not weightlifting. He's also got a massive scar on his front and back, like somethings gone straight through him.

Alex runs its hand over the door, till it gets to the keyhole, where it melds its hand into the correct shape. The door clicks open, and it descends a set of stairs into the darkness

"That's what wealth does to you. Softens the mind and the body." Yenna says in a matter-of-fact manner, her hand drifting for that drink again. She seems to like it quite a bit. "And from what I can see, being a mage does just the opposite in the long run. Hard times, even after the cash, am I right? Adventurer, maybe?"

Kinda. More of a merc at the moment. My problem is I get bored with the good life. Most of the guys in my order are tubby frail old academics. They needed someone to ... obtain the artifacts they wanted to study. Cue me.

"Sounds like my kind of deal." The halfling says, taking a long draught of her pina colada. She returns the grin. "Order? So there's a whole organization of mages?" This seems completely new to her.

Ah, this is on my home world. The mages pretty much run society from the shadows.

"Oh. Right. The whole 'seperate worlds' deal. I never could get my head very well around that." The halfling shrugs, still smiling. "There's nothing like that where I come from. Few mages, for that matter."

Yeah its weird, huh? Barely anything made sense at first. Theres no halflings on my world for example. Mostly just humans

So ... i'm guessing your a martial artist right? From your body and attitude.

Yenna nods, spilling a little of her drink as she finishes it off. The halfling wipes at her mouth with an arm, setting the empty glass on the bar. She keeps on beaming. "Wouldn't know it from the manners, right? But, uh, yeah. I've been at it two years now."

Raz smirks, inclining his head

Heh. In my experience the best fighters rarely act like Taoist stereotypes. 2 years, huh? What style?

"The school has a lot of names. They call themselves the Order of Symmetry, for one, though." She steps forward, grabbing one of the beach chairs and folding it out beside Raz's. She flops down, looking out at the ocean, obviously impressed. "It's, uh... a bit hard to explain. Our style, I mean."

You could show me if you want. I know a bit of capoeira. We could spar.

He shrugs, still grinning.

"I'd like that. Though I don't know what capoeira is." She suddenly hops up again, looking pretty enthusiastic about it. "Let's go, big man."

Raz springs up and faces her, starting to do the capoeira step.

It's dance based fighting. Show me what you got

(For reference, Raz is very good. At a martial art that isn't very practical. Capoeira is more a kind of athletics than a way of hurting other people. Essentially, assuming Yenna has a good style, she'll likely have the offensive edge. While Raz is on the defensive, he might do better)

A group of twelve college frat boys run up to the front door led by Hamnet. All are wearing togas. Some are carrying kegs of beer, others red cups, and even more are carrying trophies for some odd reason. The togas are flowing and reach down to their ankles and closely resemble the "toga virilis" style. They are also wearing brown leather sandals on their feet in a stereotypically Roman fashion. They rush up to the door and begin to chant,

"Toga! Party! Toga! Party! Toga! Party!"

The noise level of the chant grows with each repetition. Eventually, they will be screaming these words.

Yenna straightens, spreads her legs in an aggresive stance, and does a little symmetrical flourish with her arms. Then she puts them forward, fists clenched, forearms presented more prominently, one diagonally above the other.

"Dancing? That's... I'd never have thought it. Are you ready?" A cold fighter's look settles over her face, other thoughts set aside with disciplined ease.

The halfling, going up against a style she's never seen, takes a feigning punch at Raz's midsection. Trying to test his defenses. It's so quick, though, the feign might be pretty convincing. Her short stature, short legs, carry her forward in a blur of motion.
