"I suggest you respect officers of the law in the future."
And without warning the officer turns his head steadies his hand and fires again.

He didn't bother to turn it up or anything, but it might very well knock her out again.

She lets out another cry, and slumps over again.

Takes a little longer for her to wake up this time. Guess she wasn't fully healed from the first one.

She seems to have learned, though. She doesn't say anything. Just keeps glaring at the guard.

"If you manage to be reasonably respectful for the rest of your stay here and with the detective then you'll find this whole thing will be over faster. Stop being so belligerent and we might even let you go back to talking to your friend." The guard sighs.. is he bending the regs here? Hard to say.

Yeah...sure...

She takes up a sitting fetal position in a corner of her cell.

The Officer seems to have taken some degree of pity on her now that her attitude is in check. As he makes an effort to not eat his sandwich so blatantly. And he generally just leaves her alone.

Krystal thinks it's some big plan to lull her into a false sense of security. And she won't fall for it.

After a while, she'll actually fall asleep in that sitting position. Probably not good for her back and stuff, but she'll live.

Think what she may. When she wakes up she might notice a mid sized chunk of sandwich sitting on her side of the bars.

However by that time that officer is gone and a new guard has taken is place. This guys looks pretty nasty. Bit of an ex-thug if you go just by looks.

She eyes the sandwich. Then the guard. Then the sandwich again.

She'll quietly go to sneak over and grab the sandwich chunk.

The guard doesn't say anything. He's just sitting there staring into the cell of another prisoner. Glaring.

In that cell there is a young boy. Who looks very frightened, wearing on a few scraps of clothing.

Krystal sees the boy, and the sight of him tugs at her heart a little.

She gets an idea. Hiding the sandwich chunk in the folds of her clothes, she grabs the bowl that held her slop.

Hey, um, does this stay in here when it's empty, or do you take it? She asks the guard, holding the empty bowl.

((And, sadly, I gotta deadtime.))

The guard doesn't say anything silently standing up and grabbing the bowl before sitting back down.

The boy looks relieved at the let up of the glaring and takes the opportunity to move to the corner of his cell.

[Coal Plot]

Farcy raises a suspicious eyebrow at John. "And why wouldn't you need to get out, as well? You didn't seem to enjoy getting attacked by those things any more than I did." Upon taking a swig of his eggnog, then stowing it in his bag, he heads towards the room that has presumably been cleared of creepy coal monsters. "We all have to go forward, anyway, if we want to get out of here."

((Also, so, I guess that means that there weren't any electronic type thingies for Dorothy to mayhaps recharge from?))

What can I say, I like a challenge. But you are right we need to find a way out of here. Might as well keep moving forward. He says pulling out his flashlight.

The guard doesn't say anything silently standing up and grabbing the bowl before sitting back down.

The boy looks relieved at the let up of the glaring and takes the opportunity to move to the corner of his cell.

While the guard is facing the other way from grabbing the bowl, Krystal will try to quickly toss the chunk of sandwich to the boy, and hold a finger to her mouth to tell him to keep quiet.

That is, if his cell seems close enough to do that.

The boy catches the sandwich. Looking at it hungrily. Before smiling shyly at her. He seems to get the signal since he doesn't make a peep.

He will quickly hide it in his ragged clothes so the guard doesn't see it.

Krystal smiles just a little bit, then crawls back to her previous spot in the corner.

The guard sits back down again. Seeming to have forgotten about the boy and now just staring at a spot on the wall.

The silence is almost a palpable thing here.

And with the guard so absorbed the boy starts to nibble on her sandwich chuck.

Occasionally pausing to throw a grateful look Krystal's way

When the boy looks at her, she'll smile and bow her head a little, as if saying you're welcome.

It made her feel good to do that. He obviously needed some food, and she could go a little while without.

Course, her stomach was yelling at her for it. But, that didn't matter.

She occasionally glances at the guard.

The boy is looking a little bit happier now.

Minus the part were he looked agitated by the silence in the room.

A quick glance the guard and he looks like he's in a daze of sort. Almost like he was singing bottles of beer on the wall in his head and is too stupid to be able to stop.

Krystal decides to take a chance.

She'll scooch over towards the bars, so she's as close to the boy as she can get. And then she'll shoot a whisper to him.

Hey. I'm Krystal.

[celtois]

Police Station

The guard doesn't seem to notice.

In fact right after she starts talking. A loud sonorous snore rises up from him.

He fell asleep on duty.

The boy will slowly make his way to the bars of his own cage. "Benji. Oh thanks for the sandwich I was starving." He flashes a cute little smile at her.

He doesn't look to be more then 10 years old. And despite looking warn ragged. He has an adorable look about him.

The gas certainly takes hold.

Causing a great deal of cursing amongst the police. Members who's eyes are new severely irritated. Makes it hard to see or concentrate.

Doesn't stop them from firing tasers at James however. Three electrical blasts arc towards him. With enough power to likely knock him out. They aren't the most accurate but hey with three people at close range that won't matter that much.

James is hit. And knocked out. Not much else to say except that he isn't surprised.

She smiles back. No problem. Least I could do.

So, what they get you for?

And with that. The remaining officer who can still see sort of okay is going to try and handcuff James.

While the other police head to the washroom or what have you to flush out their eyes.

Most importantly. The door is now closed, and a fan has come on sucking the gas out of the building.

Police Station

"Uhh.. well you see I kinda stole some food." He rubs his heads awkwardly. Seems pretty ashamed whether it's because he got caught or.. because he stole something.

Of course it wasn't just food he stole. Also a couple thousand dollars worth of jewelery and small electronic devices

"So how about you?"

The Tear Gas is Gone!
James is quite easily handcuffed, considering that he's knocked out.

Good thing she doesn't know about the other stuff. She'd let the food slide, though.

There was a hostage situation. They told me to stay back, but I couldn't. Went to help. Ended up here.

And a pair of officers from further in the building who missed being gassed. But are wearing goggles just in case.

Will try and carry James to a cell.

It's fairly close to the onces that Krystal and Benji are in. Only a few away matter of fact.

Yeah probably is a good thing. After all most people will begrudge a kid who steals a bit of food because he's starving what he took. But stealing lots of cash. That's less good.

Keep the cynicism out of it... yeah she seems the optimistic sort. " Yeah well. The police are the police huh. They do what they wan't and you do what they want or you end up here."

Nothing really eventful happens. James is carried to his cell, and a few minutes later, he wakes up. He looks around at the cell.

Krystal notices that a new person is brought in, but she can't tell who. Too many cops in the way.

Anyways, she goes back to Benji.

Yeah, ain't that the truth. Hate them.

It's a small box just like the others.

Well not just alike.

His cage is almost air tight, with only a tiny slit for which fresh air to enter at the top. and is made of glass instead of having bars.

They also didn't bother to uncuff him.

Probably something to do with the fact that his card mentioned having air powers

"Nothing you can do about it though. But go about your business and survive." Benji Shrugs. Before putting his finger over his mouth. As the other prisoner comes too.

James notices this. He stands up, after struggling with the lack of the use of his arms for a moment, and walks over to the front, experimentally kicking the glass to see what happens.
