And funny fact, if he mindcontrols someone, then speaks under a spell forcing him to tell the truth, then he can honestly say "I did it."

But the difference is that the alien was a physical thing whereas Mercury was not in that case.

Of course, even then he might not have been able to stay, but it's something to consider.

Just a little something I whipped up. I made them for a sci-fi world once - basically they have thick skin with crystals (cracked skin where the crystals grew out of it, usually at joints.) who are able to store energy. Sometimes they will use the energy as a sort of blast attack, but they tend to use their power to 'charge up' and transfer energy into technological devices and things. The first one I made was simultaneously the mechanic for a spaceship and the power battery for it.

I might be keen to introduce one, but I dunno where they'd fit.

Also, I know have a desire to create a character from the Scott Pilgrimverse who fights with Genre Awareness and Fourth Wall Fu (as in, runs up the forth wall, does a backflip and slices his enemy in half on the way down)

You're thinking of Courier, who is different from the Maxios that came back now. Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what's going on with all of the Maxioses either. *shrug*
