Uh, no. The resemblance is a coincidence -- MoEP: Infernals hadn't been published when that comic was written, and wouldn't be published until over two years later. At the time, nobody even knew for sure that a MoEP for Infernals was going to be published at all.

Does Padraig post anything in Pattern Spider forums, indicating he is fine and alive enough to be posting? I'm just worried something bad might have happened to him now. Maybe I'm watching too much Castle.

He's not posted anything lately. He did post an rather hefty piece about a week ago over on the official White Wolf forums though, in response to an alchemical thread asking about differences between canon alchemicals and Nova.

Personally, I'd really like to hear a few words from him, even if those words are just "nothing has changed yet". It'd put my mind at ease.

Yeah, same here. Wikipedia says tendinitis takes four-to-six weeks to clear up, so he should be on the mend by now.

Yeah, but that can really vary. I've seen mild cases go away after a few days, or it can be many months. I was glad to see Jukashi post on the WW boards, hopefully that means that he has a more mild case.

Since I've not been able to draw, but I can type (if carefully and mostly lefthanded), I've been working on an older Exalted project that I had let slip. I'm hoping people will like it, and that it makes up a bit for the lack of comic.

Yeah, that was something else new I noticed. Man, mustn't have paid much attention to the details in that page last time I read it...Now that's...interesting. Maybe FAFL wants the keys to also lock them back in Autochthonia...

Huh...I didn't notice that until you pointed that out. I read it as the Mask's forces.

So either Nova's coming back into the Story at some point, she survived right I think she did, or some other Autochthonians have also set up shop in Creation. Probably other Autochthonians I wouldn't exactly call what Nova had "the Maker's Forces."

@Volt while that might be a secondary thing he wants, though I personally don't buy it, I've always felt his biggest motivation for gathering the keys was to unlock himself from his armor.

Well yeah, I was thinking as a secondary thing. I mean, if he gets the Keys, he's hardly just going to unlock his armour then not do more with them...

Given that Jukashi was working off of 1E stuff when he did the Alchemicals, it seems likely that the Locust Crusade, or at least an incursion, is happening. Even if they aren't idiot villains like in 1E, they'd come into conflict with the Deathlords, and the Lion's territory is right (and a little sideways) where the Autochthonians came out during the Crusade.

I theorize that his main reason for wanting them is so that he can get out of his (literally) damned armour. But locking up the Seal of Eight Divinities would be a neat side effect, I suppose.

Huh, I had thought "the Maker's forces" was a reference to the Jadeborn, but Autochthonians makes more sense. Since I don't have that MoEP I'm not sure if I can speculate much more though

But here's the thing. Why would he want to lock up the Seal? Autochthonia is a bevy of Artifacts and trained mortal artificers. Not to mention the vast amounts of Magical Materials and millions of Ghosts just waiting to be pressed into his armies. Also his Neverborn Masters would probably be encouraging all of this as they would very much want for their traitorous little brother to die at the hands of their servants. Sealing it away makes no sense, especially for someone like the Lion. He would want to conquer this rich new land not Seal it away. The only reason the Lion would have to lock up the Seal is if he feared the Autochthonians.

Now none of this means I don't think he would use the Keys for other things. Of course he would. But I don't think locking up the Seal would be one of them. It's certainly a possibility of something he could do, but I don't think it's something he would want to do.

Out of curiosity and on an unrelated note - just how different was 1E Exalted from 2E? I thought it was essentially the same game and the same setting with somewhat different rules, but some stuff in this thread like Autochthonians being "stupid villains" suggests otherwise. Or am I misreading it?

Basically, some story aspects were tweaked to make playing non-Solars more consistent and interesting. Lunars went from "I can has the END OF CIVILIZATION," to "I can has the END OF THE REALM to be replaced by my pet civilization," for instance.

I'm not sure how Autochthonia was tweaked along those lines.
