Suspicions flew around Baator. Claims of who killed the stalwart Erinyes, against others for misdirecting the thoughts of loyal devils, but most for the feeling that information would be gleaned by close examination of one high and lonely house.

Devils drawing near to this house glimpsed a portal inside, leading to regions unknown. A group gathered outside. On the command, they unleashed a formidable mystical barrage into the dwelling, and in part through the portal.

After a while they ceased, and cautiously advanced into the building, and then on through the portal. They found themselves in the throne room in Malsheem. Marks of the barrage scarred the floor and walls. There was no-one in sight.

The throne of the Nine Hells stood empty.

Lex-Kat is missing, perhaps dead. She was Asmodeus.

With the devils still reeling from the shock of their ruler’s absence, the atmosphere was something approaching panic. From the least imp to the mightiest pit fiend, they were unprepared for this.

With circumstances as close to chaos as this realm of dread Order could come, its soldiers were unprepared. One of them, running an errand for a superior, found himself alone in the alleyways of one of the great cities. Suddenly lithe arms lifted him into the air. The touch of the demon holding him seemed to drain away his energies. What fell to the ground was a lifeless husk.

Saposhiente had the life drained out of him. He was a Bearded Devil.

Um, I was actually joking about the whole "don't listen to me" thing, y'all know that, right?

Because if you hadn't noticed, it was quite simply power of suggestion that made *you* choose to kill Lex-kat. It's a weird cognitive thing that makes the first things you see very hard to resist and no I'm not a first, second, or third year psychology student I'm just saying that I was random and y'all just went along with it.

Opinion was divided across the Nine Hells. Some were suspicious of the instigator of the investigation that may have led to the death of Asmodeus. Others considered it a mistake, and cast around for another target.

But Baator is founded on Order, and its laws state clearly the penalty for disloyalty to the Lords of the Nine. The arguments that he had simply suggested a possibility that others seized upon were discounted. His essence was consumed, leaving only the weakest of shells.

It was clear from this he was no demon. But Baator must uphold its laws.

Julian84 was executed for treason. He was a Bearded Devil.

Wow, this is getting rediculous. So far the demons are making the devils a laughing stock. I blame the fact that there is almost not coordination among the devils, obviously. Don't some devils have scrying powers and if so, shouldn't hey, IDK, try communicating with other devils? Just a suggestion.

Concern was high across Baator. There was a sense that the organisation of the devils had failed.

At least one was prepared to do his part however. He was heading to an intended meeting. He had tried keeping tabs on the servants of the Lords of the Nine. As he passed down a quiet street, something unusual caught his eye. A figure, clearly demonic, skulking in the shadows. He advanced cautiously. While he considered himself the equal of any demon so small, if he could achieve the element of surprise..

The demon seemed to notice him. It ran off down the twisting streets. He followed cautiously down ever narrower paths. The demon seemed to be alone, but he was reluctant to fall into a trap.

He cornered the figure in at the end of an alleyway. With no other demons around he finally came forward with confidence.

Then the figure dissolved, an illusion, revealing the towering, grinning figure ready to strike.

By the time other devils found his body, the assailant was long gone.

Blue Ghost was lured into a trap by illusions. He was a Bone Devil.
