Yay, considerable mental powers for the win. Of course, he can't just get rid of grief like that. Well, not without just cutting off her ability to feel emotion. That would just be a poor, short term fix.

The vampire looks down at Sarah, pondering. How did one clame an Object? And is Sarah really one of them?

Ghar tries to place a hand on her forehead, as if to push her hair back out of her face. Assuming success, he simply wills her to be bound to him.

Jamie, as it happens, is, at the same time, trying to project feelings of sisterly love torwards Sarah...

Chris simply stares. "Yeah...yeah I think that does. Meanwhile, since that was about the most exciting thing I've experienced in months, I need to relax for a second."

He shakes his head and then heads outside for a walk

Reelshka turns around. Hm? Yes?

"I wanted to offer you a position on the council." She says. "You've done great stuff restoring the campground, and I'm pretty sure noone would object."

...oh. I think I'll need some time to think about it... Reelshka sounds and looks rather stunned. She's absent from the events at the main cabin, which is just as well because her player has someone else there.

Sophie comes running and glares at Ghar. Might I ask what happened and what you're doing to this girl?

Brinika is nowhere to be seen. She hid when the scary stuff started happening.

Ghar looks up at Sophie calmly. "Something had happened and her caretaker brought her to me. She believes her father to be dead, and I suspect that it's true. I am trying to comfort the girl, this is not a time to be throwing accusations around."

This wouldn't have stopped Ghar from placing his hand on her head if he was able.

Sarah remains very quiet as she lays there. Though she's no longer in shock, the girl can't find anything to say. Jamie's humming makes her a little sleepy though. She looks up at Ghar as a hand touches her forehead, and at Sophie, gaze blank. As for any metaphysical shenanigans, Jamie's sisterly love counters Ghar's evil will! =O

No, wait, nothing happens. She's not bound to anybody. She's like the lighter Ghar holds now. An Object lacking a Holder. Any Seeker could just physically take her away.

Sarah suddenly remembers something, grip tightening on Jamie's hand. She looks up at her adopted sister desperately. "Wait, Jamie, your mom can bring people back, can't she?"

Greetings," she says, approaching Sophie. "Who are you?"

Sophie turns to Psi, surprised. She's a fairly short, dark-skinned woman dressed in denim jacket and jeans. I'm Sophie Mouchabiere, a member here. Who're you?

"Foreign Interaction Device Ψ, Serial Number 23. Alias 'Psi' or 'Psi Twenty Three'," she says with a blank expression on her face. "Currently performing Magic-Scientific research on 'Nexus'.

Actually, Psi can't see it. Luckily, her systems are programmed to analyze and aid humans in this situation.

Sophie sighs. She's not too sure herself... I'm not entirely sure myself... but here's what I gathered: this girl, she points to Sarah, collapsed and she seems convinced her father is dead. This man, she points to Ghar, claims to be trying to comfort her, but I don't entirely trust his intentions.

[Murkus]

Honestly. Drow vampire. If you trust any of his intentions, I'm inclined to question your mental health.

Sarah looks up, spotting the floating 'robot'. I think they met once. She looks very upset. "Psi?"

And it just now comes to me that Sarah still doesn't have a character sheet. This requires fixing.

At least the drow vampire doesn't have twin scimitars and a panther familiar...

Jamie starts a bit as she snaps out of her reverie, and nods.
"Yeah. She can," she says softly. "It doesn't always work," she cautions, "but she can do it."

Psi gets a quick glance before she looks back at her sister.

Ghar is completely trustworthy and you should take him at his word for anything. >.> <.<

Ghar stands back and just keeps an eye on Sarah. He's confident that she won't be able to be taken away from him through being an Object, but he's going to have to keep a close eye on her.

"Can you tell her to try, please?" Sarah says, with a surprising steadiness. Still upset, but she sounds a little better.

Jamie smiles, and squeezes Sarah's hand.
"Is there anything of your dad's here that he, um, used often or anything?" she asks, standing.

Flaming Hawt Reinholdt undeadtimes, still cautiously looking around from time to time. But otherwise, sitting on his rock. Kind of looking guilty. Or something. I think he always looks guilty personally.

Sarah takes a deep breath, managing some control and wiping at her tears. "Uh. His whitecoat, maybe?" Probably has some of his DNA on it too, if that matters.

She looks hopeful. But if Dr. Rein does come back, I've decided he won't be a Holder anymore. Just a father.

Yup. Sarah's a free Object now. Perhaps her own Holder, if it really matters.

"I'm going to go get it then, alright?" she says, before going to do so!

Sophie keeps glaring at Ghar. She's going to work him out if it's the last thing she does.

Cabin 10-A

Yay! Jamie finds a coat!

And will probably spot a bunch of test tubes where Dr. Rein was working on tissues mutated by energy! They are not nice to look at.

Sarah is still in the main cabin, waiting anxiously. Looking at Ghar.

Jamie wrinkles her nose at the test tubes, but only grabs the jacket.
And hurries back to the Main Lodge, ducking into one of the small side-rooms, where she has an animated conversation with Quinn.

Who then takes the jacket, and, as Jamie hurries over to what was the Infirmary to see if any of the powdered diamond dust survives, Quinn walks over, nodding to those present, and tries to scoop up Sarah in a hug.

Ghar just keeps silent. He puts on his best concerned face, which is pretty dang good. Sure he has been able to throw his weight around his entire life, but sometimes you just need to be able to deceive people.

Sarah is hugged. She hugs back, sniffling a little, not having a lot to say.

Orich stands to one side, watching Ghar, expressionless.

Until Jamie returns, bearing a test-tube of diamond dust.

"This is all I could find..."
