I used to want to play Imperial Guard; I wanted to make an army from a feudal world using Empire gunmen and Catachan/Cadian plastics. Before I started, the new rulebook was released and Doctrines were removed so I wouldn't be able to give them special Doctrines to represent them properly. I could still do it, but they'd be exactly the same as Catachans or Cadians. Without that added convertability, they were too squishy for my tastes. Humans always are.

I want to make a guard army from a planet that was further from its sun than most habitable planets, and consisted mainly of pine forests and underground factory cities. They would wear basic forest camo BDUs under their grey or white greatcoats and wear gas masks. I'd probably wind up using steel legion figures, because the Death Korps look too 'World War I' for the army I have in mind.

My idea would be that the planet turned out to have necrons underground, and through the use of their trained Valkyrie drop troops and melta weapons, managed to beat the necrons back to one area until some space marines arrived to take care of the rest.

Basically, they'd be Necron hating, highly specialized infantry dropping out of heavily armed aircraft.

Din is first lead down a hall lined with kennels with well cared for animals. Then they turn a corner. This hall extends much further than it should be able to. It's almost impossible to see the end. This passage is lined with small cages. Contained in the cages are a startling variety of wounded animals.

As the woman leads her on in silence, Din will quickly notice that the animals' conditions grow steadily worse. Open sores decorate their bodies, some are missing limbs, not a single animal looks like it will last another moment, but they do.

The stench of dying flesh worsens and the air is thick, hot, and filled with the buzzing of flies.

Din stares at the floor, not daring to look up...she feels a little sick as it is

Deadtime for me; it's late, later than it was this time last week (if that makes sense) due to British Summer Time and I need to sleep before college tomorrow. Well, I don't, but it helps.
