elfwood: is it still operating?
in fact I know it's still there
(for those who are not familiar with it, elfwood.com is a website for amateurs, and some pros too, to post their drawings, paintings, poems or tales, for others to read and comment upon)
what I don't know however (and I'm having a hard time browsing the website in search for updated answers) is whether it's just become a storage for old stuff or whether it's still being updated by the various artists and writers who have a gallery there.
I've given up on performing searches in the wyvern library (the writer's side of the website), as that search engine seems not to have recovered from one overhaul too many..and I have no interest in the visual side of things... but I do remember having read more han a few interesting tales on it..so I wonder:
is it still being updated? is it dead? is there a chance that the search engine will ever be repaired?
does anybody know of a valid alternative for amateur fantasy writing?
(by valid I mean one that does not require to sign up on yet another forum, or yet another "exclusive access" website, the lack of which need is one of the factors that drew me towards elfwood in the first place).
anybody?

Simply clicking on the Recent Additions link would have revealed that, yes, it's still updating.

Re: elfwood: is it still operating?
This is definitely a dim '90s flashback here, but wasn't the appeal of Elfwood that it was more exclusive than Deviantart?
Don't blame me. I voted for Kodos.

Re: elfwood: is it still operating?
I don't think so. Deviantart only appeared in 2000. I'm not sure what other sites were around back then, but Elfwood was the only one I was aware of, so I assume it was pretty big. I might be biased since I was mainly interested in fantasy literature and, thanks of that, fantasy-themed art, and that's what Elfwood was specialized on. I'm not sure if it allowed non-fantasy, non-scifi artwork.

My assumption was "Like elfwood, but without censorship!".
