Today is ME/CFS awareness day, and I shall 'celebrate' by being completely knackered and sleeping through.

If you're interested in learning more about what it's like to have ME/CFS, and other invisible chronic illness, read this. You probably know someone who has an invisible illness and doesn't talk about it because they're afraid they won't be believed. I've had ME/CFS for 2.5 years, and I'm now almost completely bedridden, and use a walker when I need to go out. It's a terrible disease with no cure, and very little research funding being dedicated to it.

But I'm not even seventeen, I can't even donate money yet. Well, I can at least try to cheer you up so I guess there's that.

Donations to charities that conduct research are always welcome, but the important thing about Awareness Days is just that... awareness. So that if you have a friend or family member come down with it one day, you'll know enough about it not to say something stupid like 'You just need to get some more exercise and you'll feel fine' or 'You don't look sick. Maybe it's just stress'.

The thing that hurts most with invisible illness is when people don't take you seriously, or think you're faking it, or have subconsciously made yourself sick for the attention. Nobody would choose this as their life. It's hard, and heartbreaking, and I've had to grieve for a lot of things that I'll never be able to do now. But I'm still me, and I'm still happy. I still have a good life, it's just a very different life than the one I imagined for myself.

Well, of course. Donations are much more useful for sponsoring research and help funds than causing guilt and debt.

I thought the treatments were only supposed to be used once, twice if it was really really bad. Now I feel even more sorry for you.

Regarding the fight in Riverside Mall: normally I'd treat the hunters like the disposable NPCs they are... but I want to write up a description of how they all get various neuroses after having to kill a small kid, so I kind of want at least the three of them to survive... the Avenger's life is forefit anyway.

Also, is anybody interested in a visit from piggasi? They're native to three (at least) worlds that I have characters from (Dalachrechworld, homeworld of Terrowin, destroyed; Dragonworld, homeworld of Narahar & the Earl; Natalie's Homeworld) and in Dalachrechworld a herd of wild piggasi chased off young dragons, in Dragonworld they're quite rare because they pose too much of a threat to the more intelligent powerful monsters, and in Natalie's Homeworld they're an endangered species with official protection from the government due to centuries of persecution due to the threat they pose to small villages.

Sorry, Rae, I probably won't be posting in the Needle and Thread any time soon. The character who runs it is in a plot and I'd rather not plot-clone her because, well, I'm having enough trouble keeping up with my other active characters. I don't think I could add another. Sorry.

I know BR has a character who works there, if he wants to handle it.
