Duung! Indeed. While the accepted canon is that a Cubone wears its mother's (Marowak's) skull (odd in the case of Pokemon breeders), there are theories that Cubone was originally intended to be the child that a Kangaskhan carries in its pouch, scrapped before Red and Blue/Green were released. Some suggest that the glitch Pokemon M' was an unfinished Marowak, as it evolves into Kangaskhan. Etc. etc.
