Two points:
1) Important yes, pivotal no. Plenty of people manage to have sex without one involved, and there are certainly options where it doesn't show up, and more where it isn't seen.

2) The whole sex thing can be avoided entirely. Some people don't care, moreover some kinds of relationships can omit sex between certain combinations of people while it exists for others.

I am, although not exclusively, mostly sexually attracted to people with male bodies. I am, however, definitely not attracted to male genitals. The concept rather freaks me out actually. This is starting to weird me out. Not going to go into details due to forum rules, but...why, brain? How can I manage to be sexually attracted to someone and not like their genitals?

Hmm, I would agree with what has been said about attraction being based on different body parts and et cetera, it's most likely just a part of your sexuality.

Seriously, though. Evolution came up with plenty of alternatives to intercourse, it's just that none of them worked for our line. Which is sad, pollination would be really fun for a sentient species. T_T

The good news is that we probably won't have to listen to evolution for much longer, genetic engineering is getting closer and closer to taking over the market! ^_^

You need to play Dwarf Fortress then, because as long as a male and a female of any species are uncaged and not hermetically separated from each other, they can breed.
Yes, that means that two dwarfs can get married and have children, with one being an archer at the tallest tower of your fort, and the second one in the deepest mines... and not ever having actually come close or touched each other. And have babies. Everything can do that. From dwarves to cats to birds. It may be fixed in a future version. If the developer thinks it needs fixing.

I would like to say that I like male parts so much I can't imagine a relationship without them unless it's a sexless one. I can't think of a sex act I like that doesn't involve them. I like the way they look, I like the way they feel, and let's say I like other senses too. And they're awesome in that they have several forms, just like a pokemon. Soft, hard, a mix of the two. So versatile, and enjoyable at any and all stages. Love them.

Just wanted to give my opinion as there was so much criticism of them. For balance, you know.

This being said, Kitty, I guess you could look for trans men in particular, provided you don't feel the same way about vaginas. Otherwise, it depends how much you're disgusted by them. If you want to get over it to date cismen or transwomen, maybe you'll be able to do that, but if you're not interested in doing it I wouldn't sweat it. Nothing says you have to.

Indeed, because living in a soup of breathing in one another's gametes is a marked improvement upon individuals thinking that genitalia look silly or like horrible alien monstrosities. I mean, the random, uncontrollable pregnancies alone would be barrels of fun.

Generally if one is capable of sexual attraction and desire and has a sex drive, so, y'know, if one isn't asexual, one doesn't want to avoid the whole sex thing entirely. So, given the context, I'm not really seeing why you felt the need to make this point.

Honestly, this just makes me really sad. There are so many fun sexy things you can do that don't involve penises, or reproductive organs at all! Heh. Ok, a few clarifications.

One, when I said "primarily attracted to males," that seems to be hovering around 70-80%. So a relationship with a cis female is certainly not out of the question.

I couldn't really tell you myself. But, hey, barriers are there for the overcoming (or the occasional splitting in twain or otherwise crumbling) after all, so if life leads you into a relationship where this becomes relevant, I imagine things will crystallize for you fairly quickly. Especially since even if it's just determining that it's actually non-phobic, dealing with those other issues and understanding them elsewise would give you the perspective necessary to take in the whole situation, since if it's... enough of a factor to have that language used to describe it, it certainly seems like its influence is less easily controlled for.
