I would argue the other way (but not here), that Chameleons are a spellcasting class (which is why we need the specific exception for prerequisites) and can benefit from things that they qualify for in other ways.

Again, I won't debate it here, but I wanted to put my position out there. If somebody makes a thread, I would debate it there.
