Pathfinder's Hut

Renetta will find Pathfinder next to the fire pit, sighing a bit as he pokes the dead coals. He gently curses at his brother in Wolfen, as it had been Waterstrider's job to keep the fire going. His ears flick in Renetta's direction as she leaves the hut, but he doesn't look up from pulling out his tinderbox. "He's not here." He tells her, knowing what must have happened to cause his brother to let out the howl. "Won't be for a few days I think."

Renetta sighs and heads over to sit across the fire from Pathfinder. She puts her head in her hands and stays in that position for a few minutes. "I'm a terrible person. I can't believe I did that to him." She mumbles.

"You're not terrible. You let him know the truth." The shaman says as the fire starts up again. "He'll get over the hurt."

"Were you being honest when you said you couldn't return the feelings?" Pathfinder asks, putting a small kettle on a chain above the fire. "Tea?"

"Tea would be good." Renetta says. "I was... I think. I don't know. I mean, I care about him, but I don't think I can do that." She tries to smooth her tangled hair to no avail.

The Wolfen takes a seat on a log, waiting for the kettle to heat. "You did nothing wrong, just admitted fears. We're 17, remember?" He asks with a slight smile. "Just turned adults, young and impressionable. He'll be fine soon. Even though he's hurt, he'll accept it. Likely thinking it over now."

What Waterstrider is Doing Now

The Wolfen growls as he gets thrown back by the grizzly's swipe and hits a tree, it's claws leaving long scratches along his chest. The thing was bigger and stronger than he was, but he was faster and smarter, and it was wearing down bit by bit. With an enraged roar, he leaps, claws finding it's throat...

Renetta nods slowly. "I hope so..." It doesn't help her feeling terrible about it though. She's scared Waterstrider won't want to have anything to do with her after this, however irrationally.

After a few minutes, Pathfinder pours the tea with a sigh, still not looking at her yet this morning. Whenever Waterstrider did return, he'd be pitiful and in a funk for days, if not weeks, and his brother certainly wasn't looking forward to it.

Violent urges are still violent urges, even if they're directed at evildoers. Especially since "evildoer" can be a very wide term... still, looks like Lasuna's affliction has an outside source, making it easier to fix.
