I'm also doing that, except that the blood is my own and not fake. It's just easier to lap your own wounds than to go and get a paper to suck up the blood. Especially when the bleeding is very light, and you just try to prevent it from forming droplets running down on your socks.

Regular blood doesn't have such a bad taste either, but I've become sort of put off by it since I spent a few night in a row coughing (not really, but I lack a good word even in Swedish) blood-mucus out of my lungs after some intense recurring nosebleeds earlier this spring. That was discusting, and because I swallowed most of it, I found myself burp up a strange metallic taste too.

I do agree that nosebleed sof that calibur is...horrifying beyond all belief holy crap.

Human behavior has happened to you. We rarely stay fascinated with one thing. This happened to me a long time ago. I still like the playground, but it sits nowhere near as high on the list of "things that I like" as it used to. This has happened to many posters, and will happen to many after you.

But then he gets a call from work. He has to go, now. Something happened. All I could pick up from him was "First Air may of lost an aircraft" and something about an emergency site. And that "atleast it wasn't a Hercules".

Not as much horrifying as mildly annoying (and by that, I mean "WHY THE HELL IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME ALL THE TIME!"). Also somewhat giddymaking, but the question is whether that is a rational survival reflex or me just being a wuss.

If by "of" you mean "have", well, then that probably means that that an aircraft belonging to First Air may have crashed somewhere, which would be the emergency site, and it's a good thing it was a smaller plane and not Hercules, which is a pretty large, often military, transport plane.

Say, does your dad work within the military, with aeronautics or with emergency service?

Uh, really ? You know, unless you had just eaten before tasting it, sweet blood would be rather cause of worry.
I assume you don't have diabeties though, so I think it might be the inflluence of circumstances (It has been mostly observed with smelling but it seems to work a lot similar with taste. the influence of cognition on the percerption of chemical senses is pretty enormous.)
