Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
Well, I was talking specifically about the Xbox achievements, but yeah, I suspected someone would pull that one somewhere.
Oh no...

I've finally come around to start watching MLP FiM. I've only gone through the first three episodes yet (because I spent half the morning playing World of Tanks. The contrast is delicious), but I must say I like it so far (and add to that my tendency to understate my opinions).Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Got my results. And I got into the Uni I wanted to get to, with 1 grade over what I needed (A*ABB, needed AAB ).
My face has been all for the past 2 and a half hours.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
Heh. Much congratzness. I always hate waiting for exam results, but when they come I never want to know the result. Speaking of which, my actuarial exam results have been out for a week. I still haven't checked. And the next exam is in almost a month's time
As to avatars; mine's a fremen. I like Dune. Also, blue eyes. I have some. they are blue.
On a completely unrelated note, people with blue eyes have always kind of intimidated me.Awesome fremetar by wxdruid.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
My take on Marty and Daniel was that they were faces of God, tied to the theme of Bene Gesserit as gardeners that Chapterhouse expounds and the strange new Atreides powers that Duncan and Teg were developing. But then I read the Dune wiki, and apparently that's not it at all. - at least according to the direction that his son took in his own sequels. How I hate what that guy did to the series.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
Nice pun.
Seriously though, I do suggest that everyone at least read the first book. It is an awesome mind twister. Every single person has their own political motivations and they are all working against each other in some of the most subtly manipulative ways. To steal a quote from the book itself, "a feint, withing a feint, within a feint".

I'll admit that every once in a while I look at that other angel and have a bit of regret that I didn't pick it. But then I see how the armor was done on mine and feel totally satisfied.
In other news, blogging is most certainly enjoyable. It's always nice to have a day where I can sit down, write a few posts, and polish up the blog.Avatar by Serpentine.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
Unfortunately, no. But what I'm doing is much more awesome!
Okay!
For the last two days I've been spending two hours each day with three other people in an evening group called Guerrilla Theater. We plan to do some sort of public performance at the end of it. Here is the schedule, which we worked out yesterday for the rest of the week, plus what we already did:
Tuesday: Meet for the first time, sit in a field and talk about three different types of guerrilla theater, surreal (most of my life already, but when you're not sure if it's a ploy or not (think people walking into a bookstore, looking at one book, leaving, then doing the same thing again five minutes later for an hour), certain (public musical), and oblivious (randomly holding a concert out on a roof for instance). Then we go around listing all the ideas we have come to mind for what we should do at the end, and I prove that I'm a cloud cuckoolander. I hit upon the idea of using theater make-up to give ourselves convincing terrible wounds, then go downtown and act normally when by all expectation we should be unconscious in a hospital. The idea gains some popularity.
Wednesday: I enter bringing a scrapbook from a play I did, which I am showing to the teacher (he's really more of a voice of adult concern when we come up with ideas that might get 911 called on us, when he isn't doing magic tricks and letting us bury him under pillows) when the power goes out in the whole building. We have no idea why. As there is still plenty of light outside we go to the front room, which had one wall that pretty much consists of a large window and a glass door. The last person gets there (one was already there) and we start planning again, although not before on of us cuts her tow, and I twist my ankle (Mini Script! MoonCat twists ankle. MoonCat: Ow! F**K! OW! Realizes she's in a school-like environment MoonCat: Um... Ignore that. I didn't say anything! MoonCat leaves the line of vision of the teacher and hears hysterical laughter from where she was earlier.). We go inside, and since my idea was popular yesterday, we start talking about what problems there would be, and what we would need to pull it off. Purely theoretically of course, and only using it as an example for what we would need to do with what we did decide on, but after a while we just stopped adding 'if we do this' to each enthusiastic problem solving exclamation. We work out all the kinks (he has police friends who he'll tell about the thing in case we don't manage to get someone to shut up and stop dialing 911 in time) and plan what we're to doing in the following days.
Thursday: Stake-out, we go down town and plan exactly where we'll be and where we'll go, and where we'll meet after one hour.
Friday: Practice, we use that make-up kit to practice making wounds, and work on getting used to moving around normally with it on.
Saturday: Showtime!Spoiler: This signature is a historical relic from a long-ago time of regular forum activity.Aww man! Even all the witty self referencing sigs are gone now!
