That card is beautiful. Just awesome picture and card frame. The ability is probably overpowered though. Exiling anything should be a minus ability, never a plus, otherwise the planeswalker can always protect itself from every threat short of a a bunch of burn spells (and exiling other stuff to increase loyalty protects from those too).

Hm, I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out the matching characters in this new flipped guardian-kid universe. I guess Jane is Nana, Jake is Jade's grandpa but also now her grandson (however that works), and the two mystery characters are Bro and Mom.

But then, what happened to Dad? Not to mention that Davesprite could still be running around somewhere since Jade took him with them when she shrank the battlefield. Obviously there's other unanswered time travel shenanigans now that the universe has been reset and all the other characters are at unknown whereabouts, but I'm mainly curious what the scratch did to Dad.

New Fetch Modus! How-to recipes! Multiple recipes!

...Different costs? Now that's weird. If each item has its own code, how would the Alchemiter know what items were "combined" to make it? Maybe the different recipes add special properties, like the second one makes a hat that can shoot things? Either way, woo captchaloguing.

I love the contrast between the first hat recipe and the third. Man, if you combined a potted plant, Charles Dutton's poetry, and a matriorb and spent 100000000000000 diamond grist to build that hat; you'd feel pretty ripped off when seeing you could have made it from just a shaving almanac, a T-bone steak, and one single measly build grist.

The interesting thing though is the origin story. Remember how in the troll universe, the first version (with the trollcestors as the heroes) had the calling card that the players had not spawned themselves? Later on in the scratched troll session, the one we're familiar with, Karkat ectobiologicified up both the trolls and their ancestors; so the players from the unscratched session were from the scratched session!

Now here it is very possible that we have the reverse situation, and that the current crop of players are the guardians John created. So the players originate from the previous session this time, and they will fail to create themselves; since Lord English will be in this session.

Now, DAD. If DAD is DAD, then he was the for-what-we-know biological son of Nanna with an unknown person; which makes the genetic similarity remarked upon in this page logical, even if inversed. Of course, DAD might be John instead.

I'm not sure what to make of it if John is gramps and DAD is his biological son in that universe.

Finally logically since this is a scratched session and reboot and stuff, we should get to see adult versions of the kids. So there will be eventually, once Jade's cruiser breaks the other fourth walls and enters back in the story, both kid and guardian versions of John, Rose, Dave and Jade.

I'm wondering if you can make ghost images from using the captchalogue camera/pictionary modus on those recipe images. And then use the recipe modus to get the recipes for those items!

It even tells you how to put the cards together. Although I forget the alchemy punch hole combination theory. Does && go with making additional holes and || with fewer holes or vice versa?

Also interesting that we don't know how to remove items from a recipe fetch modus yet. Can they get trapped if you can't prepare them with the right ingredients? Or accidentally shot out at weaponized speed if you accidentally acquired all the ingredients in the right order?

Pictionary modus would only be aided by the fact that you have a drawing aid now. It would still be tough though, since a matriorb in pictionary mode would just be a circle with some bumps on it. Camera might work though, if you could zoom close enough to get just one image.

Vice-versa. && is easy to remember, since & means "and". You need a hole on the one card AND on the other card to get a hole. That means generally fewer holes.

From there, || is OR. You need a hole on the one card OR the other. That means generally more holes.

If the lapse in her custodial bond was significant enough, it was not just political power she risked. At such a distance, she sacrificed concentration needed to curb its most dreadful psychic shriek of all, the galaxy-wide extinction event called the Vast Glub.

Of course this eventuality proved a fitting reward for such reckless expansion of her territory. She chose the worst time possible to explore further from the homeworld than she'd ever been. She was scouring the edge of the galaxy for systems to plunder when she received word of her planet's devastation by meteors. The young were being slaughtered. The mother grub was dead. The end times were upon her people.

She ordered all fleets to return to Alternia. But such was her empire's expansion and interplanetary occupation, few could make it in time to provide any meaningful defense. She instructed her Helmsman to pilot the ship faster than he ever had, and he did so through extreme physical duress. He was able to leap across thousands of light years in a matter of hours. The exertion likely would have killed him, if the Glub didn't get to him first. Her touch could extend life, but never restore it, to her lament.

In that instant, her empire was gone. Gl'bgolyb's swan song wiped out her entire race, save the Condesce and her lone heiress, leaving the empire nothing more than a galactic necropolis of floating tombs.

The last we saw him, he was mustard-bleeding as much as his ancestor in a perfect emulation of the Helmsman's role, piloting the meteor station to the green sun faster than the speed of universal destruction. And Aradia did say that he wouldn't make it out of here alright, they would, the other trolls that are not including Sollux but very explicitly excluding him. And that it's Sollux's body which would arrive, rather than Sollux himself.


Andrew Hussie is not always subtle in his foreshadowing. Sollux is dead meat.

No prob. You did read my theory correctly, and your point is valid, which is why I see your theory as valid as well. I've given mine a bit of thought, and a theory's crystallized:

tldr: Doc Scratch and Lord English force a universe replacement rate of 1.0 for their own sakes. Anyways, this has also been very long, and thanks for reading.

As far as we know though the Trolls did not receive outside help from either English or Scratch, we do know English contacted several of them, but not to the point of saying "do X and Y will occur" or anything.

Plus there is the added bonus of Trolls being a very strong and violent species, The game's difficulty may simply be a method of ensuring that ONLY the strongest and best of any given species are able to play the game, and this can still occur more then once.

Remember pre-scratch earth? Hundreds of thousands of players were playing that game, the way i see it, this was the equivalent of zerg-rushing it, somewhere, at some point in time, through sheer luck alone, someone would be successful and enter the game with an entire session. from there whether they win or loose would depend on how well they played. Do not forget that the reckoning only occurs once the black king gets ahold of the white staff, the amount of time between the start of the game and this happening can vary greatly simply due to chaos theory and player-intervention. (like say having some dream selves go down to Skia to fight off the black army with the white army.) so any time limit isn't exactly set in stone.

From what i can see, the game IS supposed to be winnable without outside intervention, and the only reason our sessions have had outside intervention is because they were key components in creating the green sun to allow many other in game and out of game elements to exist.

Fortunately, this isn't the case. Back when Nana was first explaining SBURB to John, which was, like, Act 2 or something, she said that the game sacrificed a planet to create a universe. This at least strongly implies that multiple planets in an unscratched universe are capable of hosting their own sessions, each of which will obliterate a single species in order to birth a new universe.

Presumably, the fact that trolls went from an ordinary civilization to a galaxy-spanning one is in some way connected to the fact that they were Scratched, thereby putting their entire universe in prey mode and wiping out any other planets' chances, but maybe not - maybe the mediums of the other races succeeded before they got scratched, and birthed new universes. The problem is, the kids' and trolls' sessions were the sessions used to create the Green Sun, so you can't really use them as a baseline for how universes and sessions operate.

I don't believe session A scratching will affect session B if session B is already in the medium, hence the "buffer" effect i mentioned before. as for the multiple planets that the trolls invaded, it's still possible a few of them survived to play the game on some other planet somewhere, or even possible they were able to fight off the reckoning before the trolls arrived. Though somewhat unlikely.

Yeah. I just re-watched S: Cascade to make sure, and there's some version of Sollux already hanging out with Aradia at the Green Sun. He'll survive one way or another for at least a bit more.

Also I just now realized why Jade took the planets with her through the 4th Window; she was fulfilling her promise to take the Denizens out of the doomed universe when they Scratched it.

Confusingly, mine looks more blocky than the correct version, with squatter text and m's that are continuous black blobs. So I don't know if his railing against smoother fonts is really applicable.
