Bibliography FFRP: We're Back (OoC/Planning)

Hey guys! We're going to try this again!

Welcome to the Bibliography FFRP! The goal of this thread is to help people create their characters (checking the power level, mostly, but also helping with themes and spells!) as well as to discuss the potential actions and effects of what happens in the IC thread. These characters are based on the Shonen manga Bibliography by the Playground's own Elagune. To create a character you will need to consider several parts: the codex (usually based on a mythological creature, but also quite flexible), spells (abilities related to the codex), and the general backstory. Most of the plots will take part in Tiltstone, but there may be some farther reaching ones. We may get to Whitebox wielders later, but trying to balance those is hard- if spells are a collection of useful but primitive weapons, a WBW is anywhere from a gun to a rocket launcher. So please post your characters here with this format:

Name:
Codex: (preferably canon, but if you have a custom one please detail it)
Spells: (please have 3 or less, with one variation if you like)
Concept: (just a few words describing your character, Ben: smart student, etc.)
Age: (Younger allows for more growth and explains why you have so few spells, and we haven't seen very many old pages)
Description: (couple sentences describing their physical appearance)
Personality: (basically the same as description but with personality)
Backstory: (their past, please put enough to work with)

You can also submit an idea for a plot! Just do it like so:

More plots = more fun! We can't just keep killing Abyssals! Although a tournament might be fun...

Also, my memory's a little foggy and I don't want to go archive diving. Can anyone with a whitebox weapon become a librarian, or can only certain people?

Nether. You get your WBW BECAUSE you have the ability to be a librarian.

Other Plot Idea: we start in WWII and fight spies!

Awakened human is fine, WBW are still a nay for now.

Sounds good, don't make them too powerful though. Don't want anyone dying unless they're okay with it.

•#27 Morph- Turns any other WILLING person into a merfolk for a short period of time.
•#50 Trident- Summons a trident into Jay's hand.
Concept: Shy, not super smart.
Age: 10
Description: Tall and lanky, with long black hair and green eyes. He is an awkward looking kid who like wearing jeans and tees.

Or, the Librarians left a while ago/lost to the criminal gangs. Several gangs are now fighting over Tiltstone (we're still in Tiltstone, right?) against each other and small weak remnants of the Librarians. Charecters can chose between gangs Librarians and militia forces. The militia forces want order back in the hand of the citizens, but don't like how the Librarians were corrupted, or how they failed, or something.

Semi post-apocalyptic setting with pages!

In the same vein as the suggestion for having a librarian sortage, could the RP be set in a different city from Tiltstone? Somewhere page haevy but a lot less ordered. The Gotham to Tiltstone's Metropolis as it were.

That would be interesting. A place less likely to have Librarians come in and save random Pages from Abyssals would be something. Either a separate thread or just using [location] brackets. I'll draft something up.

Hmmm. would fit my setting better (if anyone else likes it), how bout the city be one with the vast majority of citizens Pages and awakened Humans, with few oblivious humans spread amongst them.

I agree, why restrain ourselves to just one of the plots? We can make a bunch threads, and try all of them. Theoretically at least.

Yes, or if you feel a new character would work better for a different plot, you can do that too, or you can keep the same character but change some details based on the plot, like age, power level, spells.

It all depends on personal preference.

Also, has it ever been said what the ghost codex is? I have an idea for a character, but need to know the ghost codex's pros and cons are.

Tiltstone City: The canon city. Home to several high schools, the Grand Library (HQ for the Librarians), and the resting place of several codices. High Librarian presence, moderate Page presence, moderate awakened human presence, high human presence.

Elexico City: A darker setting. Home to several of the nastiest Page Gangs. Has a corrupt Librarian force with some good eggs who try to clean the streets up. Lots of criminal activity. Many young, headstrong pages and Librarians have attempted to send the darkness of the city back. It's rich history allows for treasures to pop up. Exploration is popular, as some of the wealthiest Librarians hide some of their less useful WBWs in trapped dungeons and such. Fighting in the streets is common. Low Librarian presence, high Page presence, very low awakened human presence, nonexist human presence. You would have to be a Page to even have a chance at surviving, unless you have the protection of someone powerful. If someone wants something from you, they'll take it.

For machines, you could create sort of a machine whisperer? There was a kid on Heroes who did that and it was pretty sweet.

That was Nicki's kid! The firsts season of Heroes was sooooooo good! But it kinda went downhill from there.

Warg Wave is the only lexicon I remember from the comic at the moment. Inventing your own is acceptable a long as they are not too powerful

Arrows of Artemis is a Lunar spell too.
