Touhou is in fact a series of "danmaku" video games, which are made by one insanely drunk Japanese guy who takes traditional Japanese mythology and turns it into a bunch of flying girls shooting massive amounts of bullets at each other, which has AWESOME music. It is also the fandom that has been built around these games, which ensnares more people than the games themselves do - it is entirely possible to be a Touhou fan who's never touched the games.

Me? I got hooked with Aya Shameimaru's theme, the extended original version of Wind God Girl. Then I found out about how gloriously weird Touhou's characters were. And then I found out how much fanart there was, and how much of it was absolutely gorgeous.

Apparently Future Midnight with her potential foal is a thing now, since that makes two pictures in two (or was that three?) days. I love that idea. Especially when it produces adorable pictures like this one. It might be a work in progress, but it's already amazing, Inkwell. "Aurora" is absolutely adorable, and I really like Midnight's more mature, almost elegant form in this. :3

I guess that means I'm going to have to think of a 'How Aurora Was Born' excerpt now, too...

Well, you see, I'd been teaching Midnight a few spells above aphrodisiac gases, and I'd made the mistake of holding the lesson in an airtight room, and... well, when we woke up together in one bed it was REALLY awkward. Trixie almost killed me!
...fortunately, Aurora dearest is REALLY cute, so I THINK she's forgiven me. I haven't spoken to her since... I should probably risk that.

I hope Aurora doesn't have a canon other parent yet.
