He was raging for quite a few rounds there - Roy definitely realized that Thog was running up on his time limit.

Also? AWESOME UPDATE!!!one! It reminds me of a game I ran where the party pulled a trick like that - but the party member that did it was a Wizard, so it wasn't quite as brilliant.

I have to say I would like to see Thog dead simply so the order finally get an actual permanent victory over a plot important nemesis. However given their current luck against their foes i.e. the lack of permanent victories over plot important nemesises I am inclined to believe that Thog will be back.

I was seriously concerned for Thog's life when Roy pointed out the damaged columns. I thought this could be it! But no, Thog's down but not out. Like Tarquin said, he's too popular to kill.

I'm glad to get a long comic at the end of an equally long wait. Oh, for the days when OOTS updated three times a week...

Only took 17 strips to prove a point. And also, based on how much damage the LG and OotS has been taking, I dobt this would kill Thog. Did Wile. E. Cyote die from a simple rockslide?

    Awesome comic.
    Unexpected, with calls back.
And Roy using his intelligence in fight.

Maybe Roy should create his own prestige class, a fighter prestige class based on using intelligence in fight.

    Anyway, good work giant.

Just saying great comic. Worth the wait.

And i don't think roy knew thog's rage was going to wear out. He just needed him to rage until the columns were busted and his rage ran out one column too early! Otherwise the last column also would have been broken by roy's marvelously hard head.

Civil engineering is a core skill in siege warfare. Analyzing the weaknesses in a fortress was critical in planning an attack

This is easily the most epic thing in this strip. I mean.
    Just
    Goddamn
    LOOK HOW EPIC IT IS!

The best part is, in the campaign I'm playing right now we've all be deleveled and had our stuff stolen, so my character has been fighting exactly like Roy, sand in the eyes glass in the face and even causing a mine shaft to collapse.

    So frelling awesome
I love that you can see the shards of glass on thogs face but not his eyes. The Giant is toying with us

Well, nobody implied you could not. You have asked what is not to like about him and being a murderous psychopath may qualify.

I am impressed with Thog's leap directly onto Roy in the stands...

And since his rage wore off, if I remember rightly, that means he would lose some of his damage resistance does it not?

Yeah, I think Thog is flat now.
It's not the damage resistance, which is minimal but permanent. The loss of the rage means a loss of constitution, probably around -6 con depending on level and feats, but -6 if I had to guess. That's a lot of hp, so if Thog was already hurt, it could leave him on death's door before the rockfall.

    WAY TO GO ROY!!

It is great to see Roy back at it again, he is an oddity in his world, a contradiction in terms, he is a smart fighter.

(Also hope the characters get to level from all this, its been a while since we've been able to see how the party's collective leveling progression has been.)
