Re: Thufir's Thupremely Thatithfying Thecond Random Banter With a Lithp #170
Akira is a very complex anime and the fact that only a very small percentage of it is computer animated just makes it all the more awesome. It does raise two important questions though:
1) Can science go too far? If we had the technical knowledge to become gods, should we do so?
2) Where the hell can I get a bike like Kaneda's?

Akira is a bit of a mind screw. And yeah, it was made before CGI. So that's even more awesome.
But the only really adequate comment after watching Akira is "These Japanese are crazy".

Re: Thufir's Thupremely Thatithfying Thecond Random Banter With a Lithp #170
Except for the fact that I'm somewhat underweight and really could use a few extra kilogrammes. As it stands now, I'm using fleece jackets as a substitute for subcutaneous fat, and I'm perpetually cold without them. I bet there are a number of other drawbacks to my lack of weight as well...
But I concure that leftovers are good to have in storage. I am a university student after all.Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Re: Thufir's Thupremely Thatithfying Thecond Random Banter With a Lithp #170
Question: I know a brony who keeps on trying to convince me MLP:FIM is good/interesting/blahblahblah. I've seen the first episode(Well, both parts), but it seemed dull and, honestly, kinda stupid. Thoughts? Is it actually good?

Re: Thufir's Thupremely Thatithfying Thecond Random Banter With a Lithp #170
Eh, I had a sort-of-similar reaction. While I didn't think it was stupid or dull at all (in fact, I can perfectly see why people think it's good), it just didn't grab me. For me to enjoy a show properly, it has to do something to fully grab my attention, and MLP did not do that. From what I can gather, the appeal is that it is so much better than what people might expect from a show primarily designed for incredibly young girls (forgive my generalisation, but it is likely that the fundamental "executive" demographic was girls below the age of 12). However, I would say that the MLP thread might be a better place to ask such a question.
And yes, I watched the entire first episode. No, I will not be watching other episodes. Because it was not the content that pushed me away, it was simply that the show in general did not grab my attention. In the end, it was just cute and a bit decent, but not for me. I apologise if this makes me sound rude (this was not my intent), but I am simply not a fan.

Re: Thufir's Thupremely Thatithfying Thecond Random Banter With a Lithp #170
Eh, watched a bit of it with my little sister at dad's place. Didn't really enjoy it. Not to say it's terrible or anything, just not what interests me. *shrug*
I just say, don't let them push it on you if you're not interested. Seriously, I hate it when people do that.Last edited by Skeppio; 2011-10-25 at 06:03 PM.

I also like this one, although it's more about the themes of the show rather than the quality of the presentation.

It sorta seems like a less violent Mahou Shoujo. I dunno, I think I'm gonna stick with Nanoha and the like.

Huzzah!
ION: Field trip tomorrow! Yay!
IOON: A bunch of registries on my family computer got corrupted, so I had to do a system restore and then did a registry cleanup. So far so good. The good part about this is that is that my dad is getting so fed up with Windows being problematic that he's considering letting me dual-boot Linux
