I might have found a solution to the currency problem in the near future. In the next couple of releases, we are going to see the emergence of two things. The first is a trading system with Minecraft's villagers. The second is the emergence of Emerald Ore as the central currency for that trading system. As a brand new resource, so no one would have a strict advantage over anyone else in terms of acquisition.

While this would be discredited if there was to be a Mass Fab recipe for it, I fervently hope that this will not be the case. As you all know, that would render the currency meaningless.

Since, as you mentioned, everyone uses mass fabs, why not just use energy as currency? We'd have to set up a transfer network with a main hub at the central bank, but we could make instantaneous payments.

While there is no direct mass fab, recipe (now) for it, there IS an indirect way to produce it.
1) Find a village
2) You'll probably want to expand the village
3) You'll probably want to turn the expanded village into an iron factory as well, although this isn't really needed.
4) Trade with villagers, they'll pay you for all sorts of stuff with emeralds. Some of which can be produced via the mass fab, or probably even via the iron factory you set up.

This brings up a second question: Do we have any villages on the server, and do villagers still have the same breeding mechanics?

Is there anyway to make it so my pipes don't try and place items in a full recycler, but instead chooses the other path? Right now I'm just giving the items side paths and hope enough branch off so it doesn't overwhelm the recycler.

Nope. I generally just either overclock my recycler so that it can deal with it, or use obsidian pipe to reintroduce items to the pipe network when they fall out.

I'll try that. Its not too bad right now with the diversion path. If that doesn't work I'll add a second diversion path.

Also funny story: So I found a replacement to iron pipes: Gravity/water and obsidian pipes.

Takes up more space, so it's not much of a replacement. Possibly useful instead of using a lot of pipe to send stuff downwards, though.

Yeah, that's what is actually useful for. I had a stone pipe running next to a machine. Replaced it with air and an obsidian pipe. Looks kind of cool though with all the stuff running around.

Out of curiosity (and extended absence), what is the brick building beside the tower?

That's Zain's bank. He's building it mostly out of brick. I don't think I've had a poke about inside it, yet. Last I checked, it wasn't really finished.

It's a shell of a building at the moment, it needs to have the Roof finished and the insides built.

I have finally got my first matter generator up and running. Now I just need to get the power production to power it at a half decent rate.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone aside from me actually use the Various factories in the manufacturing district?

I'm thinking of adding a dust tower of sorts, with the production of various IC dusts for connivance. Would anyone else be interested?

Speaking of manufacturing district... i still need to place NPC there. Gotta remember that. When i got the time.

Yeah, no UU race for me, either. I just build stuff. Aesthetic stuff, when at all possible.

I find that I the most inventive ideas come from having to work under limited conditions. I'm sure my friends never would have built their super xp grinder if xp was easy to get.

A qustion about powering machines; which is more efficiant, water generators, wind turbines, or solar panels?, I recently joined a tekkit server and was trying to figure out which to use to power my devices.
edit; also uranium is not commonly available, as part of tekkit includes EE2, which has an item that can convert uranium to diamonds(6 diamonds per uranium)

Most expensive

Water:
Cheapest
Lowest EU production, (0.25EU submerged/2EU bucket fed)
Requires Significant Buildraft/redpower system to run at max efficiency

Wind:
Highest EU production (3-5eu/tick safely, any more and they break)
Requires the most finesse to place
mid range price compared to the other two.

Considering that your using the full Tekkit pack (I assume) I believe it's best to have some sort of bucket refill system, using the water amulet from EE. On the sever, I believe that Solar panels (compacted using compact Solars) is the favorite Green energy.

If your not stuck on Green power, there is a way to make Coal fuel last quite a while, using Super-fuels

ok, I'll probably start with solar panals until i've gotten enough supplies for the others, and then probably move to water and then to wind

I'm using water. I'm pretty sure that its cheaper than solar in terms of iron used for 1 EU/t if done well.

kk, I'll try water then, someone even let be borrow a catalyst lense(digs out a 3x3x100 tunnel/shaft per use) so i can dig an area for a water tower fairly easily
