    Lightbulb The God Game

"Before the First Era, the Aether stood empty and the worlds barren"
    -The Book of Creation

    From nothing you are born.

Even in your new-born state, you can feel the power pooling within you, begging to be unleashed. To create, to mold, to shape, to guide... Even to destroy.

The Nothing swirls around you, and slowly you realize that you are not alone in this space. Very simple matter floats all about you, cradling you almost. You are floating in the Aether, the source of all creation. You extend a tendril of will and note(With a bit of satisfaction) that the Aether responds to your thoughts, moving a bit as you flex your mind. With this you will create or destroy.

You drift aimlessly for a bit, when a brilliant light comes into view. Amongst the Aether drifts a brilliant blue star, blazing hot in the Aether. You are drawn to it and find that just by thinking of the brilliant star, you are pulled to it. In short time, you are pulled through the surface of the star and arrive in a bright hall filled with burning braziers and white marble pillars. A single circular table dominates this room, with ten chairs set around it. You are in the Hall of the Ten.

A (relatively)short distance from the star is a planet, with not even a name. It is a cold planet, with no discerning features. It is simply a sphere of gray stone. But within the stone pulses raw Aether. This world will be easy to change.

Much further away from the Hall of the Ten is another planet without name, this one made of black stone. There is much more Aether here, so much that the power could overwhelm any attempting to shape it. Those wishing to change this planet will find it dangerous to change.

    RULES
Just a reminder of the rules
You gain "Divine Points" that you could use on a number of different effects. Each Round you will gain more based on a number of factors, but always at least one point. You come into play with three Divine Points
Things you can do with Divine Points:

Create an Artifact: Artifacts are powerful tools, weapons, armor or items. When you create an artifact, you decide what it's effects are(Use discretion, anything too overpowered will be denied, but remember that you are a god and that they will be powerful).

Alter the world: At the moment, the world does not even have a name. You can create mountains, oceans, swamps, forests, caves, whatever you want. As it goes along I will keep a map(Unless someone else volunteers to do it, I only have Paint).

Alter the Aether: The Aether is the realm of the gods and their servants. Altering the Aether can mean creating a massive floating palace, a moon for you and your followers, stars, nebula, comets, and other things. Use your imagination.

Create Life/Alter Life: You can spend faith points to create life. When life is created, you must define what it looks like and where it lives(Life would probably have something to do with your spheres...). The first few generations will worship you as their creators, provided they are sentient.

Grant gifts: Give a creature supernatural strength or speed, a Warrior mighty prowess in battle, give massive amounts of gold to the faithful, or just about anything else it's your choice.

Create an Avatar: Avatars are weaker versions of yourself used to traverse the world. They are mortal and contain only a fraction of your power, but are still far more powerful then most mortals.

Create: This allows you to create objects, buildings or minerals and place them either in the Aether or in the world.

Create Minions: Seperate from the creatures of the world, Minions dwell with you on the Aether. They serve as your personal soldiers, servants, guards and messengers. They can take whatever form you desire.

Anything else you can think of is fair game too, just let me know beforehand.

    Other Rules-
-No God-Wars for the first three rounds.
-Rounds will end after three or four days, or after everyone has gone at least once.
-Surplus Divine Points will carry over between rounds, but no more then five.
-You can create life, pass messages and commands and guidance down to Life, but you can not personally control life. I will type up descriptions of Mortal Affairs.
-You can use as little or as much detail as you want in describing things, but if you use little detail, I'll fill in the blanks for you.
-If you want to do something without the other players knowing, PM me.
-FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST CHANGES. This is your guys game, not mine.
    -HAVE FUN!

Moskul will alter the aether, creating two triangles of three bright stars. The center of one triangle is to the north (I suppose it defines north; it's just perpendicular to the sun, centered on the sun's orbit) and the other is to the south.

    Current action points: 2.

From the void, twin forms are cast at the same time. One the graceful avian form of Moskul, which spreads his wings, creating a sun to heat this world and to light it. The other, a quadrepedal behemoth that dwarfs several of the others, plantlife bursting from his shell, most notably a giant tree that shoots up from one side. Thus, Nordul comes to be, and regards the barren gray world.
"Hm. Jim Bob, Whidel, shall we set the world up for our fellows to begin populating? My brother has brought light and warmth to work with already."
He shakes his branches, and seeds of all types fall across the barren world, waiting for the work of the other gods to help make the world hospitable.
(Spending two points: Create Life (nonsentient plantlife) and Alter the World (make all plantlife abundant-forests of trees and kelp, fields of long grass and bushes, and so on.))

"Of course Nordul", and promptly shapes the world before him; adding oceans, seas, lakes, streams, and rivers. After that, he then shapes the terrain adding mountains, valleys, plateaus, trenches, and islands while still maintaining large fields throughout the world for cultivating. "How's that?" Asks Jim-Bob

[spending two points, alter the world (adding water) and alter the world (shaping the land)]

And so it was that the ten deities were formed from endless nothing, each from concepts that they would bring into being. They would bring order to Aether, and life upon the world.
-The Book of Creation, opening of first chapter

From the uniformity of formless nothing, a change suddenly emerges, an odd occurence in eternally empty existence that the universe has known thus far. Ethreal wind slowly picks up bits of nothing, and from those small bits and pieces a humanoid figure is evantually assembled. Even if having been in existence for mere moments after his creation, the young god understands his purpose and knows his name, turning to regard his fellow gods with a grin that many will come to know as his basic expression in the future.

Nodding at Nordul while laughing a bit, the cloaked god speeds across the empty skies of the world, watching as his fellow god lays the foundations of life to the empty, dead world. Still, it lacks many things... And Whidel in particular finds the emptiness of it's skies very saddening. "No, this will not do at all... Something needs to change" he speaks to himself somewhat absent-mindedly. Stopping for a moment, he hovers high above the world and takes a deep breath, his godly power surging as he exhales the first breezes, his breath giving the world wind and atmosphere. They help to spread the vegetation even further, and it pleases him, for he is also god of Life and as such everything from smallest cord of grass to mightiest oak tree falls under his care as well as Nordul's.

And from the first breezes of the world are formed the first sentient race of the world, their bodies that of breeze and their minds as playful and carefree as that of their god's. For they are Air Elementals, the first creations of Whidel, and the new world will be their home from now on.

"Hehehe... Top that if you can!" he says, smiling at the rest of the gods before forgetting about them for a moment and joining the Air Elementals in their game of tag across the newly-created sky.

As the land twists to Jim Bob's liking and water flows, the seeds begin to work their way into the fertile, new soil, spreading roots to find the water. As Whidel breathed life into the world, they flourished, flora of all types springing up in all ecosystems across the new globe. Nordul saw this and showed his approval at his fellow gods' works, before looking at the second world.
"Shall we work on this too, or leave it for now?"

    Mzuuthn'liex

The eyes of Mzuuthn'liex opened, the realization of his existence flooding his new awareness. First for his eyes to gaze upon was that blue star.

And then, he was crammed into a chair clearly designed for a tailless entity a fraction of his size. Infuriated, Mzuuthn'liex smashed the unaccommodating seat. It just wasn't enough. Taking flight from the Hall to farther parts of the Aether; Mzuuthn'liex roared, the bellowing shout resonating throughout existence so that all would know the want for more.

So it was that the beginnings of Greed seeped into the universe.

    -

In flight, two planets were observed. The first, the other gods had began their work upon. The second, the sphere of black stone, floated off in the distance. Pristine, untouched, unmarred. Rich in raw Aether.

Upon the surface of this black rock, Mzuuthn'liex unleashed a serpent, of stature great enough to wrap around the world many times over so that little would not be covered. Slithering over the rock, the serpent's scales eroded and carved. Regions more traveled were cut deeper, becoming valleys and canyons. The freed rock, eroded into fine sand, was thrown into the sky in the serpent's passing. As the serpent moved, it devoured and absorbed aether from the rock into itself. After a time, the serpent, sated from feasting, ceased it's travel and went into a deep sleep. With nothing stirring the sands of the planet into the sky, the sands settled down onto the world, covering the land and burying the serpent.

Here, under the desert world, the serpent would lay until woken from it's deep slumber by Mzuuthn'liex.

[[Summary: Using a divine point for Mzuuthn'liex to unleash a roar that introduces greed to living things present and future. It need not be an intense all-consuming greed, everything will experience greed in some form or another to varying degrees.

Using a divine point to create a giant, world sized serpent on the black rock planet that will slither around the land creating canyons and valleys and desert while consuming raw aether from the planet itself. Perhaps this consumption of aether from the planet will make it less dangerous to change? The serpent will eventually settle down and sleep until awoken by Mzuuthn'liex.]]

    Vel'Kor

And so he of stood gazing upon the black world and the white world longingly, for he loved life and that wit which one could work, yet he loved the minerals and rock, and in both he loved magic. And so, finding himself unable to restrict himself in any sense, he sent forth his thoughts, and created the grey world, where magic was balanced, still dangerous but still light, where life could exist in a semblance of harmony, and artifice could still have great power.
From the Book of Stars: Part 2, Planets of the World, Chapter 3: The Grey World

And in truth, that was exactly what Vel'kor did. Staring withing the void, he created a midway planet, which would link the two, and combine parts of to.

First, he created the planet, but that in and of itself was completely lifeless, lacking in energy. Next, he breached the planes withing themselves, creating 4 small portals. 2, doorways between The Grey and The White. 2, doorways between They Grey and The Black. These portals in the planets core, would leach energy between them, truly creating the grey planet, a planet that would have aspects of both world. These portals could move objects, but would likely never, and should one will enough, it could theoretically make the white or black worlds energy affect the other. This however Vel'Kor ignored, being to happy with his creation, as it bore what would be the seeds of life, and it had the minerals of the dark planet.

    Spoiler

1 Point: Create The Grey planet, a planet in between the Black and The White.

1 Point: Create a doorway between The Grey and the White Planet, making The Grey have mana bearing the White planets properties.
1 Point: Create a doorway between The Grey and the Black Planet, making The Grey have mana bearing the Black planets properties.

These to acts make The Grey being as magical as either of the others, with the magic being slightly dangerous (The only known effect so far)

Kar-Leon opens his eyes for the first time, and knows. He understands how to create something, from nothing.
He travels to the Hall of Ten, and observes what what his brothers do. He frowns at Mzuuthn'liex's actions of greed, for greed is not good. He understands good.
He observes the two original planets. The first one is easy to shape, willing to follow commands; the second, however, is much more dangerous, hard to shape, and able to harm even the gods if they try to interfere. He decides to leave the black planet alone, for now. He then turns his attention to his brother Vel'Kor, for are not all the gods brothers? He is impressed by what he sees, the creation of an entire world from nothing, linking the two original through there.
He takes inspiration. He wills another world into existance, one far smaller than the other three, about a quarter the size of the first planet, and places it into orbit around that planet.
"To give light and inspire goodness in even the darkest of nights" he says in his deep voice. He creates the new world, the Moon, as he calls it, from the purest of Marble, gems, gold, silver and platinum. Upon this moon, he constructs himself a vast library made of the finest of emeralds, rubies, sapphires, gold and silver. To assist him in filling his vast, empty library, he creates beings. These beings are created vaguely in his likeness, in they have two legs and arms, a torso, and head. In addition, he gave them wings to be able to fly in the atmosphere of his world.
    Satisfied and tired, he rests.

He had taken enough time to consider the planets. One light and one dark. One covered in life and the marks of its siblings, and one relatively untouched. And then there was a third choice, the balance between radicals.

His first act was to descend upon this Grey planet and forge a great hammer from its mixed magic. For now, it would aide him in his work, and in time it would pass on to his faithful.

His second act was to strike the material of the Grey planet with the hammer, raising a massive mountain, dormant from the outside but filled with molten rock, winding tunnels, and great caverns.

His third act was to combine the properties of the Grey planet, both physical and magical. He forged a great many suits of armor, beautiful in their functionality. Inside each suit of armor he sealed a portion of the planet's magic, bound in place with carefully constructed runes.

These last creations became the Golems, and their home was the mountain, and their creator was Voroshk with his great hammer.

    Spoiler
    Show
1 point to create the hammer artifact, with the ability to shape the earth, and create great works of artifice, including life.

1 point to raise the massive dormant volcano.

1 point to populate the volcano with the Golems. I'll call them Golems for now, but Voroshk isn't very interested in naming his creations. He will leave the Golems to name themselves and their mountain and his hammer and possibly even himself.

EDIT: just to avoid any confusion, the Golems are not minions.

The great obsidian dragon replies with a low, rumbling roar, "Help the worlds as you wish. I claim not that pitiful rock, for at the end of all things, all shall be mine."

Following the conversation of other deities while lazily floating in the upper atmosphere, the god of Air and Life smiles to himself. They are all so serious, so...formal. Aren't all of them family in a sense anyway? He sees little value in bickering and debating for the moment: they have just come into existence, so why not enjoy it for a while before going all serious?

"Well, we have not even as much as named these worlds yet, you know" he speaks, his words echoing through the expanse of known creation, small bubble of being in midst of Void surrounding it. "Maybe we should do that at least before going all formal about this? Oh, and we might want to begin talking who is going to rule what... It will be sad if we end up arguing about it afterwards, wouldn't you say my brothers?"

Either free creatures must choose how to live, or they are puppets. And if creatures cannot be ruled, what good is there in ruling a rock?"

"It would seem that given enough stress, the Aether will shift and reform to accomodate the source of the distress"
-From "Commentaries on the Mysteries of the Aether"

The Aether groans as the new gods shape it to their will, working wonders upon the once-barren planets and bringing life to them. Again the Aether groans as the third world comes into being. And finally, the Aether tears, a chaotic storm tearing through the fabric of creation. Every god feels a terrible surge of power in their being as a terrible storm engulfs the three planets and the Hall of the Ten.

When the storm ends, everything is as it once was, the Aether again whole. But amongst the god are four new entities, born of the damaged Aether.

The first is Locathan the Destroyer, the god born of the quiet void of the Aether.

The second is Mordeshul, born of the fiery power of the Aether.

The third is one entity in two beings, born of the gulf that even now has begun to seperate the gods. It's name is Fel and Tel.

The final is a fearsome aspect of chaos, a twisting form with an Alien mind born of the secrets of the Aether. He is The Nothing.

The new beings drift for awhile. Even from your various perches, you can tell that these beings are filled with the same power you have.

We will now begin the 2nd Era.

Mordeshul then gave life to the earth by creating great mountains of fire. To populate these places of fire and death, he created a race of scaled flying creatures that breathed fire like his mountains. Finally, he created a race that could live of the land. Gazing upon the works of this upstart, the Great Dragon roared in fury, "You, who have created mortals in my image. With this, do you wish to provoke or flatter? Had you the wisdom of Doga, you would know the latter would earn them my wrath, and the former your destruction. To assuage this grievous impropriety, I offer you this:

Command your creations to also worship me as well. Dragonkind out of respect, and humanity out of fear."

Tel drifted by herself in self, confused and scared. She could feel the power and strength inside her but could also feel the power of tthe other gods. What could I do that my new brothers can not? They fight why can't they just be fair Than as she was still being formed was another being lke herself. They fight but two can be better than one. We are total opposites except for one thing we are alone. If we are one entity we can create a balance, something no other gods can do and something they won't want. I'm Fel.
Fel puts out his hand and Tel takes it ad she tells him her name. When the Angel and Demon in one body take flight though the Ather. Then they sense a unique feeling a feeling of great want affecting all life. For every act of greed there must be a act of goodness, agree? yes balance should be kept among mortals
And a single feather came from the being and then split in to thousands of pieces giving all mortals a sense of good will.
    OOC:
1 Divine point to give mortals goodwill. Not give away everything and live a monk good will but a give a couple eggs to the poor good will

"I will gladly accept your gifts on my Moon, brother. I wish for it to be a place of peace and learning." Kar-Leon says in his deep, booming voice.

With the rupture of Aether, Kar-Leon is scared. For the first time, he has found something that he does not know. He vows that he shall find a way to prevent it's happening again, or something even worse. He calls out to all his Brothers. "BROTHERS! We must exercise caution! We have tried to do too much, too quickly! I fear that if we continue at our current pace, I fear, yes, fear! that something horrible shall happen to this Aether! We need to band together to find a way to prevent another breach of the Aether!"

Kar-Leon then notices the actions of his brothers Mordeshul and Mzuuthn'liex, and frowns, deeply disappointed. He sees how the races of Mordeshul lie, cheat, and kill each other. He knows that this is not good, and it saddens him. Summoning Power from the Aether, Kar-Leon imbues all sentients, those current and those yet to exist, with the Knowledge of Good, and with the desire to want to be thought of as good by their peers.
He then directs his minions to guard all sentient beings, and to whisper, unnoticed, to them the morally just and right thing to do in any given situation.

He then turns his attention to creating his own sentient species. As with his minions, which he has named Samaritans, he crafts them to be vaguely in his image. But instead of having wings, like the Samaritans, these creatures have just two legs to move around with. These creatures, he calls Elves.

Moskul, after searching the earth for a time, raises a sheer mountain of marble by the shore. It slowly shapes into a great tower, topped with a clear dome of crystal, under which a simple altar stands. As Moskul wheels around the tower, a smoke rises from the altar, followed by a golden flame. The flame bursts forth and flies out into the air, splitting into thousands of golden balls. Each ball turns into a great golden bird, just shorter than a Terrani. These are the Crevain.

Than Moskul cries, "You have been given minds, tongues, and this temple for a reason. Take care of needy wanderers, and guide travelers seeking refuge to a safer place. You may scatter across the earth, and eat the fruit of the land. Yet remember that you came from smoke, and not from gold; do not forget my commands, or eat the leaves of Nordul's creation, or you become smoke once again."

    The Hall

He appeared in the middle of the Hall, tentacles forcing their way through nothing to exist, pushing more into existence. With a slight pop The Madness finished creating itself and looked around.
    {How odd. I don't seem to have a chair. I should rectify that.}
With a swish of a tentacle (that came from somewhere in the depths and anyone looking would swear wasn't there a second ago) a gigantic chair appeared in space. It hung there between the White Planet and the Blue Star.

    {Hmm. Actually it would probably be better looking like this.}
Another swish and the chair collapsed on itself, to create an odd, rather fluid planet.
Another swish and a series of...Odd Things appear scattered around the land. They all have 2 or more eyes, tentacles and mouths with razor-sharp teeth. The majority of them have limbs of some sort and some may have a rudimentary slime form they can turn into. They are the Things.
With their creation, every being, Mortal and Divine, shivers without knowing why.
On the very top of the planet (top of an orbiting, rotating sphere. You work out where it is) a chair rises from the ground, it is quite basic, just a wooden chair but as it starts drawing power in from it's surroundings it starts to improve. After a short while a ruby appears above the headrest, the first of many improvements.
    {Greetings Things. Welcome to Life. This Chair here is not to be touched unless you are completely irreconcilably Insane AND the natural leader of the Things. If you are not you will die a most horrible, horrible death. Well goodbye}

    Spoiler

-1 to make The Chair of Madness
    -1 to make the Things

    Spoiler
    Show
The Chair of madness is like the Sword in the Stone with 1 small change. If you aren't the proverbial Arthur your soul is peeled off layer by layer as your worst fears, deepest desires and passing emotions are lived through in the most horrible way imaginable (desires become sickening, fears amplify to massive heights etc) before your mind is twisted into a pretzel (literally and figuratively) and you implode.

    Spoiler
    Show
Euclidea is an odd planet. relative distance means nothing, only links. Each 1square kilometer is it's own area, linking to 4 different areas that could be on the other side of the planet. This is generally a 2-way street but sometimes go completely wrong, with your body position and orientation determining which of the options you go to.
Regardless of actual links, whenever a traveler goes over 10k in the one direction (never turning to the back, left or right for a link) he jumps to the Chair of Madness.
The actual order of the links change depending on which day of the week it is as well as odd/even years/decades and if too much magic is in the air (it partially stabilizes the movement so you can move truly (or to completely random places depending on whether you ask a visitor or a native respectively))
Example of directions (which must be carried out in order): Forward, back, Left, Right, Crabwalk-Right, Spin left, back backwards, front while looking backwards

Voroshk spends his time watching his new creations. They are infinitely more interesting that his brothers out in the Aether, squabbling and getting in the way. He decides that what his Golems need is inspiration.

Voroshk visits each Golem, carving his commands into their metal bodies:

    Expand
    Dream
    Succeed
    Worship

Lastly, he carves the most important of all, more than a single word:

Prove your worth through artifice and battle, but never harm your brothers.

His creations now truly complete and prepared to begin his work, he disposes of his great hammer, giving it to the Golems to help them craft their empire.

Voroshk then rises above the Grey planet, finally looking out at what his brothers have created. Sufficient for novices, he admitted, but sadly lacking. With a wave of his hand he distributed his thoughts to all sentient life, imbuing them with the desire to create and wage war.

Watching the nightmare monstrosity form his twisted planet Feltel is scared and disgusted. How could something so foul and disgusting ever be in balance, It is an abombantaion. Tel's voice echos throughout the ather. She make no attempt to hide it from the other gods. Fel sighs to his sister.
Now, now sister do not be rude we are here to balance the gods not hate them, as well as help them. Now all my brother gods we would like to help you with the development. of the white planet. We beg your permission to help you but as gift and as to show you what balance we can bring i will give the planet the gift of seasons. Now when the white planet is close to the sun the plant will flourish and grow but when the winter come the plants will die and food will be scarce. Now to bring the seasons I will gift the Aresul. They will fly and deliver the times of life and death.
