Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
I think I can do this one. A bit of <CENSORED> to start us off, then a dash of <CENSORED> to get into <CENSORED> and we'll finish out with <CENSORED>. I found the feats <CENSORED> and <CENSORED> that will fit really well in the build.
Seriously, though, I do have a build that comes to mind right away with this one. I'm going to compete, going to try my best, and hopefully win me a contest.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
And already I come into a major hitch: <Not saying> conflicts with <Nope> in terms of <Nuh-uh>, so my base class does not work with <nice try>. So I have to scrap my entire premise... already , because there is no alternative for <can't tell you> that I can find. Unless there's a PrC that does it, and I could otherwise <Whoah, that's almost too much>, but I can't find one.
My original premise would work, I just wouldn't be able to take the SI. Stupid, stupid <just no>.Demilich avatar by Smuchmuch. Thank you VERY much!

I'm almost finished with my character too. Though I'm considering sitting out and judging instead.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
you're quite welcome
this class is harder than I thought it would be to get into, it's those darn skills. disguise and gather info are harder to find than I thought. you never really look for ranks in either of these since no one uses gather info checks and a hat of disguise is usually enough to beat an NPC's spotsI've got a new fantasy TTRPG about running your own fencing school in a 3 musketeers pastiche setting. Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
Seems... unfocused. Seems like a generic tracker guy, with nothing particularly theatrical.
I'll give it a shot anyway though, see what I can come up with.
Edit: I give up, I fail to see how this class is unique
Most/all of the class features are either already covered or done better by other classes, and even with those tracking abilities... if you failed to finish off your target... well... you're probably screwed when they come back to take revenge. At least that's how my DM likes to run things. Everyone we don't finish(sometimes even if we do finish them) usually just comes back more prepared, and if they don't, they probably weren't worth killing in the first place.
Don't know how you guys determine qualifications for judges. I know I'm pretty new, but if you'll let me judge, I'll do it.Last edited by DarthPeleus; 2012-01-22 at 09:39 PM.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
I got a couple of ideas but not sure how they'll pan out.
If I cant actually get any builds to work, I'll judge though.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
Don't worry, we are usually pretty helpful. And the only qualifications needed to judge are having the books. Not even, but I tried once without, and it ended pretty sorely: Unfocused, bad judging. The other judges that round managed to do enough that mine didn't affect anything, but I will always make sure I have the books before I judge again.
By "the books", I just mean the book the SI is in, and any sources cited in the builds once their revealed. Oh, yes, someone who has submitted a build can't judge, but that's all you need to do to be allowed to judge: Have the books, and not already have submitted a build.Demilich avatar by Smuchmuch. Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
K, I am competing. I finally got an awesome idea.
P.S. it really is kind of crap for a track prerequ PrC to not get survival as a class skill...sometimes I really wonder about these developers.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
You mean: It's kind of crap that they made a PrC with the DM railroad as a prerequisite.
And I had some ideas, but I'm not going to compete unless it really is a good idea (avoiding the pixie fiasco) since it seems there will a good number of contestants already. My personal folder is a graveyard of ideas, stuck in their dream phase. The "DM won't kill us" attitude is a bubble that sometimes needs to be bursted.Avatar courtesy of Linklele

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
I've had a look at the class, and I may be interested in it. However, I may not get the build in because of upcoming exams, so I'm a definite maybe for this challenge.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge In The Playground XXIX
I've decided that I'm going to sit out on this one and just judge. I tinkered with the class a bit, but my idea isn't really working out the way I wanted. I'm happy with having won the last one, so I'll let someone else have a chance this time.

We're happy to have you, DarthPeleus.
Ah, Hunter Killer, you're forgetting that <censored> has a prerequisite of <censored> which will either delay entry into <censored> until level <censored>, and possibly limiting the levels of Consecrated Harrier to <censored> levels.

It is amusing to me how long I have had some of these books without remembering the classes that get brought up in these competitions.
