The reason(s) are varying and would take multiple pages of explanation, yet in the end (or beginning) I would be branded with a label of a few words.

Suffice to say, Google did something I didn't like and no longer has the pleasure of scrying upon my search habits.

I'm at odds with this. Google still has the best indexes. And if you are signed in you can kill most of the draconian tracking measures...but you have to be signed in. And Chrome is an abomination, privacy-wise.

If the adds are annoying to you, could I recommend AdBlock? And as far as draconian tracking measures, I'm currently logged in to my Gmail, so I shouldn't have to worry about anything, right?

My only real problem is the InstantSearch feature. How do I turn it off?

Regardless, it was a personal choice to no longer support Google in any way, whether its using their search engine or their 'operating systems'. If I have to sacrifice a bit of efficiency or accuracy to do so, no matter.

Well, Ask Jeeves officially decided to phase out Jeeves, stating that he was retiring, and decided to just call their website ask.com. This happened in 2006 I believe. The reason I said he moved to the UK is because the U.K./Ireland edition of the website brought him back several years later.
