Got very sad yesterday evening due to a documentary about the earth quake and tsunami in Japan, and I started to think about it and [other sad events around the world], so I was very down for a few hours. Okay, apparently my voice is better than I thought. I didn't think it sounded convincingly female, but apparently it's close enough to pass without comment when combined with a female presentation. Awesome!

This makes me feel fuzzy inside and actually gives me hope that religion and LGBT groups can co-exist, because of women like her.

Okay, so I am thoroughly pleased with the book series I'm reading. They have straights, gays, transgenders, bisexuals, asexuals (I think), intersex folks... Generally portrayed in no worse light than any other group (and often a positive one).

My complaints with these videos can mostly be summed up as "teenagers.*" He seems like a good guy, congrats.

*Nothing wrong with teenagers per se, but I've lived through 400 generations of remarkably uniform assertions of uniqueness in the history of forever, so teenage love declarations have kind of... worn thin.** If it makes you feel better, I feel the same way about grandparents.***

** And yet I still manage to go through a "stupid love" phase every time I go through puberty, even knowing it's coming and what it will look like and (theoretically) how to avoid it. I swear there's something wrong with me. You know, apart from the mortal damage to my core systems.

***If you were wondering, any time an elderly person complains about the new generation being lazy, immoral, careless, etc. compared to prior generations... you can assure them from someone who was present at the beginning of agriculture that every generation prior to them has made the same stupidly false accusations.

The gist of it is teenage antics can be annoying for people that are no longer teenagers. Not bad per se but best experienced in small doses and teenage love is extra teenage-y.

Edit: Yes, that is what I meant. Also, "Gender" is less important than "Caste" as far as social roles, sex merely differentiating rank (all are born male, then chemically preserved at that state unless and until they can prove themselves worthy of adulthood).

On that story competition, I'm a little curious. It says open to all, then that it's accepting submissions from writers with backgrounds from all "across the country," so is it just open to people from Ireland or am I misreading? I probably wouldn't do anything either way, I'm just curious.
