To the question it doesn't matter if it can or not. If Tarquin is deafened but not blinded, that still counts as him being affected by it.

The question is whether his level is above Durkon's caster level for the spell, i.e. is more than one level above Durkon's level.

Well, yes, he would win a D&D-style combat, and he'll probably win this poll too (which is what I was talking about). Doesn't mean I'll vote for him.

Depending on how much time there is before the next strip, I think O-Chul actually has a significant chance at winning the tournament.

Yes it appears that Tarquin was partially affected. (maybe his ability to take on the order is only due to his superior equipment and the fact that V was not involved?)

O-Chul for sure, though Redcloak is a great villain.

It appears that no one is commenting on Durkon's badassness anymore. So sad. I will restart it -- not quite extreme yet, but close. So close. Sorry.

tarquin cannot of simply walked to the top of power at only durkon's level, i estimate his level at around red cloaks
No he will not be affected

O-chul, while a nice guy, and a very tough one, is less interesting to me than Redcloak, who has varying complexities as well as pretty original motivations/ actions.

Nale is unarmed, deaf, wounded, shot with arrows, being attacked by Belkar (who is immune to suggestion this time), and his only truly loyal support has been banished for twenty-four hours. Between Tarquin, Malack, the Order of the Stick and possibly Team Evil, will Nale be able to survive until Sabine returns? Yes or No?

...which, at his level, would grant him a range of only 720 feet or so; he'd still be inside the heavily-trapped pyramid, or - at best - just outside, with nothing but arid desert for miles and miles around (and he's in no condition for long treks). Last time he used the spell, it was in the middle of a city where he could rest, recuperate his losses, and generally recover from the battle. He doesn't have those same luxuries this time around.

    No

I think Nale must die in some way he cannot be ressurected to force Taquin's hand, to save Elan's life in the Star Wars style ending proposed in the Tarquin thread.

I see the replacing of Thog with much more competent and powerful Tarquin as a sign that the end of the linear guild is near. They already proved that killing a rival is possible, Haley killed hers from the theives guild already, and I believe now is Nale's time.

Well, that was before it was down to a deafened caster + Nale + Tarquin vs almost the entire Order. The sides went from 5v7 down to 5v3 (with 2 debuffed) in one round - while Tarquin will probably survive, he may have to cut his losses and sacrifice Nale to do so (and Tarquin may well not survive either).

    Agreed.

So no, I don't believe Nale will survive to see Sabine's return - but he may very well get resurrected (likely with Sabine's help, if the IFCC doesn't prevent her from doing so).

I'm going to go against my instincts and say YES,

Tarquin will toss Nale his ring of regeneration, to prevent his son from dying.

Once divested of both his healbot and his healring, the Order takes down Tarquin while Nale escapes yet again.
