That would be time enough for Riss to form a more composed reply, given what was currently going on at her end. It isn't like I can lose your address nor can you do the same with mine. If this is absolutely necessary then I will see about making arrangements. I make no promises other than I will make the attempt. The sheer succinctness of the reply might suggest to Sora that there might be more there than just an unwillingness to lose the anonymity one had over the network. Or that might just be some mild agitation. Inflection was occasionally hard to read when utilizing a text only format.

In any case Sora appeared to have gotten through to a grudging reply. If I really need to, I can probably convince Misha to come along for support... I know I'll need something like it for this.

After a few cuts by the dagger, the mushroom withdraws and gives up. However, its wounds leak a thick, viscous fluid that is quite acidic, and if any gets of Zefir it will likely start to burn its way through his clothing and/or flesh, though magical items like the dagger might have an enhanced durability and thus be immune or even resistant to the effect.

No real choice here. Zefir drops his hold on the rope trying to slide it down to avoid the acid as far as possible. He tries to hold the dagger up to block some of it. All depends now how deep the way is.

There's enough distance between Zefir and the bottom to make grabbing back onto the rope to slow down a good idea, but not so much distance to make the landing fatal if he doesn't choose to slow himself down. Fortunately, no acid has made it onto the rope yet, otherwise an unfun fall would be the end result no matter his actions.

"I uh... no. I don't think she would." A flash of regret crosses his face, but he speeds his pace so Akoraun can't see it.

They pass four other cells, identical to the first in every way except for the pattern of the splatters, and the room's inhabitants.

Zombie, siren, demon, and all look human, or close to it. If it weren't for the small signs above their cells, it'd be hard to know what they are.

And in the last cell, the one they stop in front of, are two children, probably around nine. The sign above the door reads 'werecats', though these two look like elves. One young boy with the same vacant expression on his dirt-caked face, and one young girl with huge soulless black eyes, who seems entirely disinterested in everything around her, and not spellbound in the slightest.

The child greets every being happily and politely.

Finally, they stop at the werecats. Hi! I'm your new roomate!

The guard clicks open the door, and Akoraun is obviously expected to just simply walk through.

Into a cage.

Filled with werecreatures.

The young boy looks up and flashes a vacant smile. "Oh... hello. Yes, I'm sure we'll be good friends."

The girl just tilts her head and regards him with the gaze of a predator.

Akoraun gives im a dazed grin.
Pleased to meet you!

He then turns to the predator girl. Hello! He offers his hand.

The cell fills with a warning hiss from the were-girl as Akoraun gets a little to close for comfort.

That's interrupted by the sound of the guard closing the door, and leaving alongside Shade.

Which in turn is interrupted (possibly) by a loud smack, as the young girl (attempts to) slap Akoraun hard to jostle Beren out of the young drow's mind again, hopefully.

Akoraun hisses back, and giggles slightly.

Then wham! The sharp slap pushes him off balance, and he falls on top of the girl.

Akoraun blinks a few times. What the... who are you?

"Ophelia." Rather than try to shove him off or away, she instead attempts to grip his wrist and pull him closer. She sniffs at him curiously, and then would attempt to lick him. Not playful, not gentle, but almost as though she's tasting him.

"You don't smell like Laira. Who are you then?"

Akoraun looks a little strange at her.

Um,I'm Akoraun... your dad's apparet half-brother... Are we still in Beren's house?

Pavati looks over at Bill. "I could probably do it myself if I wanted to." She says with a silly little grin. Her natural state is in the water, which is obvious seeing as she has the lower half of a sea lion. Webbed fingers too.

And then there's a fish. The selkie eyes it hungrily. "Are you gonna eat that?"

Intro Party

"Not if you eat it first. Have a blast, little selkie. My apologies for displacing you, by the way. I can put you back where you were once you've had your fill of fish." Dio flicks his di-vine-ing pole once again, and a swordfish flies up out of the water improbably, landing nose first next to the mackerel.

"That one's on the house."

[Gullara]

"That's okay. I'm not really going anywhere specific. Just looking to see what I can see and have a good time." Pavati says cheerily.

"...I don't think I can eat that one." She says when the swordfish thumps on the ground. She's not that hungry. She does, however, move over to the smaller fish and pick it up. "Thanks, though." She bites into the fish with her pointy teeth hungrily. She swallows a big chunk of it whole. Yum.

She attempts to lick him again before accepting the answer.

"The air smells of blood. Night-vision is on, and the cuts of the latest session still crack and re-open if I move around too much. We're still in his Hold, and that isn't going to change soon, little drow." Little drow? They're probably the same age, actually, which makes that kinda an odd thing to say.

"Though if you want, I could just eat you, and you'd be free?" That's not a question you want to hear from someone you're still touching.

The drow shifts to sit cross-legged in front of Ophelia.

I honestly believe it's necessary, yes. As I said, If you need anything in return, I'll be happy to lend you whatever I can. So, Want to meet somewhere that's fairly neutral, or would you rather be in the safety of your home? I'm fine with either, I just want to know what you're more comfortable with.

He's offering healing to someone who just asked if it was okay if they ate you? Odd, but alright.

I don't think I ever actually described Ophelia, so here goes. She's a young elf, probably around Akoraun's age. Perhaps her eyes had been some light color before she'd been changed, but now they're an entirely soulless black. She doesn't take care of herself, her hair looks as though it's never once been brushed, and it's stained so red that only the roots speak of the pale blonde it had once been. All along her arms and legs are long, thin cuts, scabbed over. She reeks of death and decay, as that is the very nature of her disease, and the disease is entirely blood-based. And while she's elven, she sits in a rather feline manner, and when she talks there is a slight lull and purr to her voice.

"As you will." She offers him an arm, wondering if he knows enough to not touch the blood. If not, the horrible decaying odor should be enough for him to figure out that lycanthropy is transferred by blood.

Akoraun carefully and gently bandages her arms, touching a little of the blood. He covers most of her arms (attempted) and runs out of cloth halfway down her right leg.

...Well, if I go out then I'd need to go mingle with people... As much as I don't like that idea, I'd at least be outside for once. And I'm not sure Magtok really appreciates me having people over given what he's implied.. Outside would probably be the best. New surroundings would at least be interesting.

Well, I think in a 'neutral setting' would be fine as long as I am given enough time to locate the place in question. Again, I lack general knowledge of the local geography. However, would it be possible if I were to bring someone along? This is just a small thing that would make me more comfortable is all. Would that be alright? came the reply. Really, all it seemed is that the time and place would simply need to be decided and Sora would find herself just that much closer to solving her own mystery. Assuming nothing came up to delay this, of course.

Bring whomever you need to. As far as it goes, I don't intend for anything bad to happen to you, so it should be unnecessary, but I can understand the idea behind needing comfort, Evidently Sora thinks Riss means a bodyguard or something, Drop me a message when you've had a look at the different locations in town. My recommendation is a pub called Old Sammy's in the norhtern gray zone. It's a quiet place and generally friendly, so it should work. Let me know when you've made a decision.

There will be some time before I believe I will have to opportunity but I will be in contact. came the short reply. Only a minute had passed since Riss had received the last message so Sora would be given an answer just as quickly. Well, an assurance that an answer will be forthcoming.

Though, some research as to the layout of the local urban areas would likely be a good usage of free time, at least. Or rather, free time that wasn't spent catching up on lost sleep. Of course, that would involve trying to figure out just how one found anything within the city given that there were no blocks or districts that really made sense like a proper city would. I know I can't expect everything to be the same but there are some things that just don't make sense in their absence..

Well Zefir will try to keep a hold on the robe, lucky guy wearing gloves all the time. (He wears them due to his main weapons they are fireproof in case one of the bombs have a malfunction). Either way he now hangs a bit lower, but tries to reach the bottom faster now. no point in challanging another plant.

Ophelia watches wordlessly, not showing any hints of pain, and not screeching at him to be careful when he touches the blood, as her father would have. However, when he finishes and she examines and sniffs at the bandgaes, she does give a warning. "If you have any open cuts, do not touch them. Do not put your fingers anywhere near your mouth. Unless you want to be kept by Beren forever, and feed on blood, and stink of death."

She trains her black eyes on his face. "You're only a drow. Why would he need a drow? Why are you here?"

Technically, the mushroom wasn't a plant. Despite the fact that at least until 3.5, fungi were 'plants' as far as monsters are concerned.

Regardless, Zefir can make the end of the rope easily and (relatively) quickly. At the bottom of the pipe, Zefir will find a large chamber made of stone blocks. The flowing water from down the pipe ends up in a large, central pool. There's a ruthenium portcullis leading away from the chamber, though Zefir may be inclined to investigate the shelf covered in cardboard boxes against one of the walls. The chamber is lit by several floating orbs of blood-red light.

"Hey Dio, can I trade you some candy for that thing?" Bill asks, suddenly looking very interested in that swordfish. He actually doesn't eat a whole lot of his own wares, and there's a reason his stand is on the beach. Access to a free, all-day buffet. "Never caught one of them before."

"Like I said, it's on the house. I'm not surprised you haven't caught one though. Usually, they're the ones that do the spearfishing." Dio looks down at his watch and sighs.

"It's been quite the extended blast, but I have a feeling I'm going to be called away soon. If either of you would like a trip somewhere, I can oblige, but this ship is sailing soon." He stands up, fishing vine still trailing along through the water where he left it.

Pavati glances between Doi and Bill briefly before nodding. "Sure, you could send me back to the city where you found me I guess." She needs to get back to exploring.

[Murkus]

Intro Party

"Nah, I'm cool. Nice meeting you guys," Bill says good-naturedly. Ever the lonely candy-man, he settles in to wait for more customers. He gets quite the night crowd, perhaps more so than during the day.

A little wave is given towards Pavati and Dio as the scene just about comes to a close.
