[FWM] As Equestria Turns:MLP Without the Kiddy Thread X

Of course, while the scouts and assault squads were embroiled in battle, the rest of Esmeralda's squad (including the Rhino and assault squadron within) was creeping up on the left flank. "Indeed. She could have been a hero unit," Esmeralda said, as she looked up and smiled. With another hoof, she moved her next piece into battle...

"Our sisters have managed to split the enemy forces. At great cost," her adjutant reported. "The enemy commander have also decimated our scouts, save for one."

"They have done well. And the scouts even forced the commander to show her hand early. It would not do to waste their sacrifice." Ghost Wind looked thoughtful for a moment, before waving her remaining mobile assault squad forward. Unlike the first two however, this one came equipped with jetpacks. "Finish off the squad closest to us. We will follow." The rainbow-clad mareines nodded. With a great roar, their jetpacks ignited and they soared over the skies, landing amidst the remnants of the first two squads, and engaging the earth ponies in furious hoof-to-hoof combat, preventing any use of flamers without the risk of friendly fire. All the while, the Rhino rumbled closer, and began suppressing the other unengaged enemy half with its standard mounted heavy bolter.

"As for us, sister, we must make ready for combat," Ghost Wind said, putting on her helmet. Her adjutant nodded, and began her last rites of prayers in preparation for combat.

As Jewel knocked the last scout down, garbled chatter came in about a Rhino pulling up and mowing down her forces. She swore and hit a signal on her armored hoof.

Her devastators prepared to deepstrike and-

The Commander scowled and teleported again, this time to attack the squads beating up her melta teams. She and the earth ponies were able to beat them, but at heavy cost - only two meltas and the commander remained, and the latter was badly wounded.

All remaining unengaged mareines turned their bolters and flamers on the Rhino. While the Rhino itself was relatively unharmed, a lucky bolter shot blew up the Rhino's weaponry. The Mareines would have to disembark to do any damage.

...Or ram them. But that had the chance of killing the mareines inside, so they wouldn't risk it right?

...Right?

They were both at the end of their ropes now - the assault squad in the Rhino was the only undamaged unit on the field, and Commander Jewel gave an attack bonus to her attached squad, which he had changed to the tactical mareines. He had his Earth pony meltas move towards the Rhino as they finished their fight.

((I kinda lost track of who was doing what =S i think Es has two assault squads left, one of which is in the Rhino and the other's going for the Tactical mareines, while LS just has the melta ponies, the tac squad and commander Jewel))

She can't be surprised at the morphing pony. Not with everything else weird around this place. Hell it barely even registers compared to Boris. "Well she does seem to like danger, and that's what the color seems to state..."

After a moment she added, "But it may not be wise to wear that while Mr. Shag is around, wrong sort of attention."

She pursed her lips. True. She threw off the outfit and placed it on her back. Thanks for the advice. She trotted back to her room.

Hover looks the stallion up and down. His left and right side. "Just wanted to see if you were still alive."

Aero yells as he moves, getting a cut on his hoof as a result.
The chains disengage from his wings and he growls.

Noticing the attack commencing, the griffon makes a snap tactical decision in his mind. He is something of a specialist in first strikes. "Steep angle dive, keep you between them and the sun. Two fast kills."

With that he swoops higher into the air before diving down on the black-clad assassins, talons bared.

Aisis and Mile would try to draw their own weapons while Ironblade and Whitestone are charging dangerously close, but then Whitestone gets his head smashed against the ground by the griffon and stunned, and ironblade landed on by Luka with a HARD dive attack with his sword that smashes the whole black armor to the ground and blows a plate of his armor away.
Luka just jumps off, puts himself between the group and the assasins, holding his sword with his mouth, Aisis and Mile flinch away from both landings, stumbling back a bit.

[Mindfreak]

Hover looks the stallion up and down. His left and right side. "Just wanted to see if you were still alive."

Aero composes himself and stops growling and begins to build up his chi, flexing his wings up.
The chains with their sharp plates begin to rise into the air all by themselves as if they were tentacles or as if they were being slowed down...

"Yea...he's much better....he just needs to lay down and rest, the worst of the damage was fixed," She replied with a lopsidedly wan smile. She watched as her oats soaked in the cold milk.

(That sounds about right, though you are forgetting Es' command squad. Man, you really want Lone Star to lose this match, didn't you, losing the terminators like that. I fully expected it to be crushed. )

She relayed the order for the Rhino crew to speed ahead straight into the melee... and straight at the unengaged squads. With a nod of her head, she gestured her unicorn adjutant to teleport them straight into the midst of battle with the enemy commander. "You can never escape the Princess' justice," she snarled, bringing down her chainsword on Jewel.

"I see. Perhaps I could... no. That might put a strain on the relationship." The sniper chomps another bite of oats. She pondered a sleeping poison in Sandy's tea. "I wonder if the Backers wold spring for a hypnotist."

"I don't know, doesn't feel like a thing that the Backers would spring for, they seem to be more into experimental things to give to us," She said with a tired smile. She scooped her hoof into the bowl and nommed some oats.

The chainwing smashed into her armor but did not penetrate as the unicorn slammed her own chainhorn against Wind's.

Escape? Jewel laughed. Escape is for cowards.

The Rhino crashed into the earth ponies, knocking everyone in the melee back. But even worse was what happened to it right AFTER that. The Rhino's crash engulfed it in flames for a brief moment before it exploded across the entire melee.

-And if i get rid of her flamer attack, she can negate one wound, so Jewel lives. And since Jewel is an independent character, she can separate from the one remaining earth pony in the squad still tied in melee with your commander and teleport to the temple.

Jewel groaned as she pulled herself to her feet. Her armor had saved her life, but her heavy flamer had been rendered useless by the blow. She shook herself awake and looked around for the enemy. Seeing none, she stumbled away from the Rhino. Her horn glowed for a brief instant and she teleported to the temple. She limped inside, her mareine glands already struggling against her wounds. Jewel had suffered worse in her time, however, and she made it to a databank. Ignoring the subtle whispers of demons in the temple walls, she pulled up information on her lost initiates and began to upload them to her orbiting battle-barge.

Lone Star grinned and clopped his hooves together. -and thus, she's the only unit contesting the objective and your command squad with the teleporting unicorn is stuck in melee. If we succesfully roll for turn 6 ((I'm guessing - not sure)) then you'll have enough time to get your one remaining assault squad there, and if you inflict one wound, then you win. If not, then I win by objectives.

Or we could skip the roll and get right to the next epic battle: He winked flirtatiously. Lone Star's tongue versus Esmeralda's...

((Yes, Jewel can teleport almost entirely because I wanted to set up this scenario I like comebacks, so sue me))

One of the things about fighting ponies is that they need to keep armor on the underside of their neck light for mobility. Combined with Whitestone's temporarily vulnerable state, it just makes for the perfect target. The griffon goes for the talon to the jugular. Unless the assassin gets help or can break free, that's trouble.

The lone enemy was now fighting doggedly to delay their pursuit and each second lost meant their chance of apprehending this traitor grew slimmer. With a roar she threw the earth pony back and ran her blade through the armoured chest. The earth pony gurgled, and slumped to the floor.

"I found her, Captain. She's at the temple!" the adjutant shouted, opening her eyes. Ghost Wind nodded and quickly broke into a gallop towards the temple, her faithful unicorns not far behind. She broke through the stone doors with a mighty buck, before racing onwards, being guided unerringly by her adjutant.
Deeper and deeper into the temples they went, navigating through the dusty and abandoned corridors. They finally burst into the room where Jewel was uploading her data, their swords and horn held at the ready. "Stop what you're doing now and surrender to the Princess' will."

The armor under their neck is also composed of several sliding plates that don't affect mobility that much, but the landing made a plate fly off, the griffon goes that way, but Whitestone keeps wildly spassing and swinging around, making the talon hit his helmet instead, and one of his swings goes dangerously near the griffon's talon.

Luka just holds his sword, still between the group and the assasins, Ironblade stands up and notices him, he recoils a bit in surprise since he noticed he was a 3rd survivor, he just charges against the crusader in what seems like a fit of rage. Aisis and Mile stop coughing the dirt, but they're still a bit dazzed.

The griffon does press the assasin down, but as he does, he gets purple non-burning flames on his talons/paws/legs/whatever they are, Whitestone stops swinging when he's brought to the ground, making him lay on his back as he tries to spin around, he's not stunned anymore and finally notices there's a huge griffon on him, he then thrust his sword against his chest with the purple-glowing-edge aura and tries to hook the talons by getting his shield between them while.

The plates hit Ironblade on the neck while he was charging, they leave a plate hanging and he loses balance and falls while spinning..... and uses it to gain momentum and swing at Luka harder..... Who trips him with his sword and dishes more dirt into the already dazed Aisis and Mile, Ironblade ends up on the ground in front of Aero.

His chains move like tentacles and wrap around Ironblade, lifting him up into the air in front of Aero.
The chains begin to squeeze tight, tighter than anything normal in Equestria.
"Mile and Aisis, turn around, this isn't going to be pretty."
"That is, unless you tell me why you're here and who you work for."

Ya know you'd think you'd get tired of bringing somepony to ecstasy over and over... but you really don't. He was massaging her back. Enjoying yourself this evening, my beautiful mare?

The griffon luckily was trained not the flinch, he'd likely be dead if he were to be distracted by the burning talons (griffons do have paws, just the back legs). He escapes the sword blow with a nick and responds with a talon right to the neck plates of the assassin.

One of the talons finds its way into a gap, the others merely pressure the metal plates as he constricts the pony.

"No thanks. I'm perfectly fine." She said as she rolled the dice and landed on one of her own properties before giving the dice back to Balboa.

"Sure my dear, a nice water," He said sneaking a glance at the scandalous outfit that were Mystic's harem uniforms. He bit down on his bottom lip, he knew what he was doing when he got home. Astrid asked for a water as well and returned to looking busy

Balboa rolled the dice and moved his piece. He winced landing in one of Mystic's properties with a hotel. "Ack...how much do I owe you my dear? Heheh.."
