Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
The orb did fall with her, she might use it to grow her wing back and fly back up dramatically.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
Biscuit vs Annoying Goblin whose name I could never remember.
FIGHT!!!
My money is Thunt kills Biscuit even though he is a much more interesting and in general cooler character then the goblin.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
thunt, when creating the story, has shown a remarkable tendency to let the dice do the deciding. For example, the entire fight in the sewer with the evil ranger.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
I have the opposite opinion, biscuit is boring. He adds nothing to the story in terms of tension or drama, he's just big and strong. Also, he annoys me with those transparent lips, can't see a strip with him without cringing and waiting for someone to chop his head off.
Grem deep down is a nice guy, extremely loyal (he went after k'seliss) and shows hints of goodness, something quite uncharacteristic of his clan (they all seem evil with big E).
In fact, there is some potential for drama with biscuit dying and telling Grem what is mother just did.Avatar: ruthless Parson (Erfworld).

The funniest option would be if Biscuit just one-hits Grem like any other random Viper.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
I think Biscuit is toast. He's served what I believe his narrative purpose was - a bit of exposition about the demonic servitude, and providing Grem with a reason to fight, possibly joining Dies+Klik (and Fox, if she survives) as long-term adventurers.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
Yes, that's possible, though I think both Fox and Duv will survive.
People seem not to like Grem that much, but it's obvious he has reasonable moral standards, as hinted from this strip

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
I'm having trouble imagining a way Duv will allow that as a possibility. I figure only a blow to the head strong enough to kill her would be enough to knock some sense into her. :) Well, maybe she could lose interest in Fox long enough for Fox to get out of Dodge.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
Dies' contract was invalid to start with; I would be highly surprised if that particular 'benefit' applied to him. Biscuit.. might have an unpleasant surprise next time he dies. Depends on how Hunt wants to run it, really; Biscuit's contract could still be good, or the demon's influence on the mortal plane could be cut off when it gets banished. No reason to favor one over the other.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
My reading was that since the demoness owned his soul, she could revive him every time he died. Since she's no longer around, he'll just die.

SpoilerI notice that not just his eyes, but also a portion of his torso are covered, it seems the possesion is growing stronger. Someone want to look back and see if the arm had a different speech bubble when it spoke before? Because it doesn't seem like Dies would say that.

SpoilerActually a little less coverage than the last possession at the moment. The speech there can be interpreted as "Junior" referring to Dies as "father".

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
No, I'm pretty sure Young and Beautiful knew he was going to die horribly, which he did. She just didn't inform him that he would get better.
Rather like Saves-a-Fox, actually. The name means exactly what it says, just not what it seems to say at first glance.Last edited by willpell; 2012-08-26 at 12:52 AM.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
Does anyone else think that the reason why Dies' arm is killing people in such dramatic and gory fashions may be that it's consuming their blood (as its positive)? Giving that running goblin a bed of spikes to land on allows its blood to easily be collected for absorption, for instance.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
Could be, would make sence if goblin blood as a whole was it's positive. Though i was under the impression it was Dies' blood exclusively.

After that, I now expect that the loser of Grem and Biscuit will be whoever winds up down where Dies Horribly is. Saves could snap him out of this, but I doubt anybody else could.

I think "acidic blood" only means that to Klik blood acts like an acid. doesnt mean the blood itself is an acid.

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
How the dickens did scientists ever come to the conclusion that "bases" was a good name for caustic hydroxyls? I've always used "alkali", which is very much like "acid" in not having any other meanings, and I know of no reason to ever not use this term in preference to the potentially-confusing "base".

Re: Goblins IX: For that, you shall DIE!
Technically, the term "bases" is more broad and correct than "alkali"... but that's the chemist in me speaking. But I dont get why "base" would be confusing...
....anyway, to bring something on-topic to the discussion, my money is on Biscuit dying. It's what makes most sense to me from a narrative standpoint...but I've been wrong before (I'm chemist, after all, not a writer. )
