It's not actually indicative of the weapon he usually wields. It's indicative of the weapon which was attached to his wrist to replace his lost hand. You know, like Captain Hook?

Well, the Flumphs, for one. They're from the Fiend Folio, if I recall correctly.

I think the strip being asked for is the one where Celia states that humans don't even have an entry in the monster manual.

This was my thinking Kish (I was trying to make the question non-obvious). In any case, the question was answered 10 minutes after being asked. And yes, I got the Captain Hook reference.

Maybe you should have used the term "weapon of choice". That would have been unambiguous but still cryptic enough.

Anyway, the current question is about someone not being in the monster manual. It's Celia about humans, and I think it's about the part where she is summoned by Haley (starting with #529), but I don't have the time to read all of them through, so I'm not sure.

Edit: About flumphs not being in the MM, I don't find anything that would indicate what book they are from (apart from that they are 2e monsters). Questions should be answered from OOTS scripts, not from DnD knowledge.
