@Machuchang: Even though there are technically no lies in all that, you'll still need a Bluff check for it. You're still trying to pass yourself off as something you're not to a person in a position of (assumed) authority.

@Arranis & Malak'ai: Earlier post was meant to indicate I was taking my readied action by the way. Sorry, I should have been clearer. On the readied action, since I've readied it and told you I'm taking it, I was planning on waiting for the start of the round. Then I imagined I'd either be told it resolved, or find out why it didn't.

@Wordplay: Just to make this clear, the spell you were preparing in post #657 is the 'readied' spell you're talking about? If it is, it wont go off until your turn as I had already called for initiative. If you had one prepared before that, you can cast it when ever your want.

@Malak'ai: Nope, I was talking about post 651 where I readied a Spell of Summon Monster I, before you called for initiative.

657 was meant to indicate that Raif wanted to use that readied action, but I should have made all of this a lot clearer, and I probably shouldn't have put the readied action in a Spoiler text. Sorry, my fault. I'll be much clearer next time.

@Simba: Mailali's feet aren't bound, but there isn't much you could do while still restrained like you are. I'm sure you'll think of something though.

Okay, was just re-reading the spell description for Summon Monster 1 and it says:

It appears where you designate and acts immediately, on your turn.

Now, since Raif had prepared and cast the spell as a readied action, does this mean that it doesn't actually appear until his turn? Or just that it doesn't act until his turn?
Either way, I've said it appears, this is just for future understanding.

EDIT: Also, I've just been given a whole heap of additional splat books so I basically have all the main ones. Still very spotty on the Ebberon, DragonLance and Forgotten Realms stuff though.
So if you're wanting something out of any of the other books when you level, or feats/items, just ask .

@Malak'ai: Well I reckoned that the Badger would appear immediately, but doesn't act until it's Raif's turn. I think it uses Raif's initiative for initiative purposes. I think the spell description is written that way because they assume that you would be casting the spell normally, i.e. not readied. So, you'd cast the spell, and then the monster has an action on your turn.

Of course, ultimately it's up to you to make a ruling, and I don't much mind whichever way you decide.

I didn't think it would have an action until Raif's go when I cast the Spell. My plan was that it would force that annoying crossbow-orc to fight melee, be too distracted to target our casters, and open up a chance for a flank.

What's worse is she has to get to level something-silly before he gets more than one of those a day.

WOTC have almost officially admitted they underpowered the Hexblade, and one of the game designers posted a version of how they'd have fixed it.

Unfortunately they never made it official, because nobody plays Hexblades.

Yeah, they thought giving a class full BaB, good Will saves, Mettle AND 1/6 casting would make it too powerful.... Guess they never actually playtested any of their own creations.

For the record, the fixed version would have been.

Med armour proficiency
Good Fort saves
Curse/day includes CHR bonus (so Verossa would have 3 /day, rather than 1)
Curse changed to swift action (instead of Free action, so you can only fire one off per round)
Curse use not used up if target passes the save.

Oddly, they didn't seem to think about the really low skill points (combined with a good skill set. the Warlock is the only other class I can think of with this problem, and Warlocks are likely to have higher INT), or the lack of UMD OR any healing spells in the class list.
